Eugster
So which do you prefer, I still haven't come to a conclusion.
grimness
Man marking. That way players actually pick up players coming near them. Zonally they seem to stand further away and it's working bad for most of the sides. Difference is visible from the start. This is just man marking, not specific player marking. joe__the__man
I have my two central defenders and two central midfielders man marking, with everyone else (RB, LB, DM, RM, LM, ST) zonal marking.
SSJ3-BROLLY
Personally, i've found man-marking to be easier to deploy as everyone keeps to their man but the downside to this system is players do get pulled out of positions, zonal-marking on the other hand, players mark specific areas and run less risk of getting caught out of position but the system does require a certain type of player but this system can be much more effective than man-marking assuming you have those players(imo)
