DaveAzzopardi
Dave Azzopardi The Red Angel So I was getting bored and thought, you know what, i'll go on an old football manager game and see how i do. So that is what i am doing. I am doing it with Manchester United. The only country I am selecting is England, lowest league I am selecting is Blue Sq. Premier and database size is large. I am starting as a 30 year old English, Maltese manager, with former International experience (easier that way). It is on the 9.2.0 update. I really enjoy football. Since a young age, I have adored such players as Steve Bull and Robbie Keane as I am a Wolves fan. In this generation I look up to the players such as Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. It's just the biggest sport in the world, and there are too many words to describe it. I have had many football manager games, I once had a Wolves manager game and then went on to Football Manager 2007, then 2008, then 2009, then 2010. It just a great game all round. Anyway, welcome to my story, hope you enjoy it!

With a large amount of goals scored, I look foward to the season. Community Shield 10/8/2008 We went to Wembley playing a Portsmouth side who played well all season and had a brilliant cup run to win the FA Cup. I had doubts for the game. No Arshavin as he got injured in the Tow Law game and Cristiano Ronaldo was injured. After a tough game we came out winners with a 2-1 victory. Wayne Rooney grabbing both goals. We now play Pompey again in our next match for the first game of the season. -Starting XI- -Stats-
DaveAzzopardi
August Review As the manager of a club, in your first month, you have to impess! Thats just what I tried to do. You really have to do impress when your at the best team in the world. Results Featured Game: vs Zenit -Starting XI- -Stats- A very good start to the season. The pre-season lifted us off, and a brilliant 3-0 victory vs Pompey lifted the spirits. Arshavin was awesome in that game. We then played Hull who again we played brilliantly again. We should of had 6-7 goals, which was the reason the fans were not happy. Giggs and Arshavin shined for me in this game In the Zenit game there was a big blow, I was without Arshavin and Evra which forced me to play new signed Razvan Rat at left back. We fought well all game, with David James making great saves. However, the penos were disgraceful. 3 missed, from my key 3 strikers. Tell you something? End Of Summer Transfer Window 08/09 In: Martin Palermo - Argentina - £1.5m - Boca - Striker - 15/7/08 David James - England - £3.4m - Portsmouth - Goalkeeper - 25/7/08 Andrey Arshavin - Russia - £11.75m - Zenit - Attacking Midfielder/Striker - 30/7/08 Razvan Rat - Romania - £2.6m - Defender - 29/8/08 Out: Darren Fletcher - Scotland - £8.25m - Tottenham - Midfielder - 14/7/08 Richard Eckersley - England - Loan - Bournemouth - Defender - 18/7/08 John O'Shea - Ireland - £6.25m - Newcastle - Defender - 25/7/08 Ji Sung Park - South Korea - £6m - Man City - Midfielder - 20/8/08 Owen Hargreaves - England - £8m - Bayern Munich - Midfielder - 31/8/08 Champions League Draw + Registration In the group stage, I probably have the toughest group. It consists of Atletico Madrid, Porto, Jeventus and ourselves. Also, Celtic have been drawn with Spainish superstars Real Madrid. Liverpool have been drawn with Roma, Steaua and Fenerbahce Rangers have got Inter, Bayern and CFR Cluj Arsenal have got Marseille and Gala Whilst Chelsea have to host Sporting. Players registered: Van Der Sar, David James, Kuszczak Razvan Rat, Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Vidic, Patrice Evra, Jonny Evans, Fabio Michael Carrick, Nani, Ronaldo, Anderson, Scholes, Giggs, Arshavin, Possebon, Gibson Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez, Palermo, Welbeck Carling Cup Draw Manchester United have been drawn against Welsh side Cardiff City in the third round of the Carling Cup. DaveAzzopardi
The Red Devil September Review After a brilliant start of the season last months, I wanted to keep our unbeaten streak throught next month. Results Premier League: vs West Ham United - W 1-0 - Tevez Premier League: vs Blackburn Rovers - L 1-0 Champions League: vs At. Madrid - L 3-0 Premier League: vs Tottenham - L 3-2 - Rooney, Anderson Carling Cup: vs Cardiff - D 1-1 (Lost on Penalties) - Comminges o.g Premier League: vs West Brom - W 2-0 - Carrick, Rooney A really bad month. I expected us to do well. Rooneys injury at the start of the month was a blow. Plus with Arshavin still out we didnt have a lot of attacking options. Ronaldo was back, but didn't do a lot. Hopefully, we can do better next month with Arshavin, Rooney, Berbatov, Ronaldo, Tevez and Palermo all avaliable. DaveAzzopardi
The Red Angel October Review After a very poor month in September, we had to improve rapidly. What a way to start... vs Juventus Phelan Goes Mike Phelan has been sacked from his post as assistant manager at the club. After some bad comments after the game at Cardiff, players and fan were not happy. He was sacked on the 1st of October and was granted £2.7 million. I have now appointed Boltons assistant manager Chris Evans. Results Champions League: vs Juventus - L 1-0 Premier League: vs Newcastle United - D 0-0 Premier League: vs Liverpol - L 2-1 - Tevez Champions League: vs Porto - W 2-0 - Scholes, Rooney Premier League: vs Chelsea - W 1-0 - Giggs Premier League: vs Middlesbrough - W 6-1 - Rooney x2, Tevez x2, Scholes, Vidic League Position: 5th Champions League Group Position: 3rd Top Goalscorer(s): Wayne Rooney - 7 Most Assists: Rooney, Evra, Giggs, Nani, Ronaldo - 3 Average Rating: Wayne Rooney (7.14) A much better month. The first few games were slightlyy edgy, but wins versus Porto then Chelsea were brilliant. To cap it off we destroyed Boro 6-1. In January, I'm looking to sell some dead wood and sign a new Striker. Overall a decent month. We should have won some games, such as the Pompey game as we were 1 up. We could have easily destroyed Spurs with 6 or 7 goals but we hit the bar or post I was disappointed to be knocked out the FA Cup aswell, we now have no chance of winning an English domestic cup this season.
