what sort of stats should we be looking at for what will make youth players good to keep etc? I have never really done a youth challenge before, so not sure on development properly. Here are my personalities and determination stat in the squad. The best player is Anthony Connor, low determination personality and 5 as a stat. but he was born to score goals.

Wow, what an end to the season here. 1-0 down after 11 minutes, Chorley go down to 9men before half time. thankfully we equalised and held on to the draw (They ended up with 8 men! - and won the league themselves!) - turned it out wasn't important in the end as Leiston lost anyway. But my lord that was tense.
Little Summary i have kept of my game so far, progress minimal - but facilities wise we are moving okay. As long as i can keep avoiding relegation and keeping the facilities moving - at some point i will have a squad good enough to go up. The players are all so young, nobody over 20 in the 11. a few years time some of these could be good enough.

5th Season well under way, started off flying we were top after 7, our striker got injured who is our best player and we went on our standard 11 game losing streak and have never recovered. 1 win and 2/3 losses seems to be how we play now can never build something. have lost 3 of the last 4 fixtures 1-0, tightened the ship as was shipping all over. But our next run of fixtures sees us play top, 4th 9th and a couple of others away at the top. Massive last 12 games, I have been here before in season 2 where I survived on the last day, two solid seasons after that but back to a struggle again this time. I think I have 1 player now who started at us, the rest are from the academy. I am hoping an average set of youth players with at least one quality forward in the intake next month will just give me that final edge to save me! I do not want to lose 5 seasons of pure graft and hard work, facilities are on the up, we have half a million in the bank and i am bloody enjoying this journey! i will be absolutely broken if I cant steer us to safety!

Season Summary
My young players keep developing and performing. And as a team, we kept winning. Not the title this time, but another promotion. 3 promotions in a row. I have never experienced this kind of success before!
We started by losing the first game of the season. Then we lost again to a League Two team in the Carabao Cup. In the next game, we won a narrow but undeserved victory. I though that this was our level and that we would fight to win games this season. However, after that, I changed the tactics to a 4-4-2 narrow diamond formation. And then we started winning.
We also won the Papa Johns Throphy.
My two strikers did very well. Byran scored 36 goals and Walters scored 25 while he assisted 19 goals too.
The rest of the team developed very well and also performed good.
The primary reason for my success in the last few seasons is my strikers. The first one, Walters, is regarded as the best player in the league. I just renewed his contract, but he has a rather low release clause.
Another reason for my success over the past few years is Byran. So far he has scored 161 league goals in 190 league games and was my top scorer for the forth season in a row.
A rising star and a good performer in the defense is N'Guessan. He has developed very well this season.
Another promising and well performing player is Douglas.
N'Guessan was my first player of this save to be on the NXGN list. I think this is the earliest I have had a player on that list.
The youth intake preview looked great. Lots of A's and 5 stars.
The intake was okay with some okay personalities. The five most promising players got a little game time in the end of the season was promotion almost was home.
No significant transfers this season.
However, Egan, whom I sold last season was sold to another club from Brazil.
Furthermore, I sold the 50 pct. sell-on-clause we had on Mutombo.
Finances and Upgrades
I used the money from the Mutombo clause to upgrade the facilities. But the Mutombo money is also financing the youth set up which is quite expensive every month.
Next season
Next season, I hope to keep developing my players. I really hope to keep Walters.
The promotions must stop now. The team is no near the Premier League level. I think we will fight to avoid relegation and maybe get a mid-table position.wow, you are doing incredible there and some insane players. what a 3 year run!!
what formation are you finding working? I am literally trying every thing possible! 1 win and 4-5 defeats, repeat.

I genuinely can't do anything. after 23 games i was 4th with 42 points. after 42 games i have 49 points. I can't do anything at all to stop it, team meetings, changing tactics, tweaking. going so well literally flying and it just all of a sudden did this. Every single shot or attack is a goal, i lost 2-1 to Hitchen, i had 3 goals disallowed in the second half. I cannot believe the collapse of this season. Absolutely gutted.
Never in my FM career have to gone through this sort of patch! Luckily i am 5 points clear of relegation with 4 games left, that the other teams should hopefully run out of games to catch me!

Second longest, maybe third attempt at this challenge. That's a wrap. Board, despite saying we needed to attempt to avoid relegation decided to sack me as I couldn't persuade them. Don't feel we were a bad side. But experience, morale and once you've lost it you're very much not getting it back. Update will be short and sweet.
Season Summary
FA Cup we managed to take Notts County of L2 to a replay and pens before losing. FA Trophy was third round and out. In the league we finished 23rd. Unfortunately we tried everything and it just wasn't working. Frustratingly we didn't have a bad squad. The sale harmed us so the chairman has to take blame for that.
Damn unlucky, very frustrating too i know how much hard work goes into the save. im onto my second attempt at first ended badly. it really seems to be these lower leagues of england are extremely tough to get out of.
I was 1 point off top, and i have been thumped 6-2 4-1 and 5-0. now 10 behind and falling drastically. in 4th position and only 2 clear of the playoffs now after looking solid, i cannot stop conceeding. As i type another 3-3. 50 goals leaked in 28 games, only the bottom 3 have more.

amazing to see so many taking this one one. credit due guys, this is my favourite game challenge for a number of years. Really enjoying the stresses of working hard within the club on training/facilities/morale than the transfer market!

Came 13th in the Vanarama North with FC United 4th season in charge, not sure how to get any higher! was a point off the playoffs after 30 games but had a 7 game losing streak couldn't break it and complete derailed the push. Faulted off at the end and couldn't turn it round. still media prediction was 22nd - and the next 4-5 years of the boards plan is to continue to attempt to avoid relegation so no real requirements, just need to focus on trying to some how get professional status and continuous improvement on the facilities. at some point i guess the products i produce over a few year span will then be enough to take me up a couple of levels! (I Hope!)

Damn this is a struggle, at FC United
Came 12th First season but that wasn't so bad due to having some real players, second season i survived on the last day and came 20th, by 1 point. Third season i am sitting below mid table - not sure how i am ever going to get out of this league haha!
Youth intakes are okay, i have a few okay players doing well - however my concern is we are still part time and any half decent player is going to leave for nothing at any moment.
My main concern is moving up the leagues and expectation levels? the board rejected one of my requests for youth improvements because they didn't want to rely on youths and wanted to use the transfer market - obviously this is going to become an issue if they keep wanting this type of method. I worry that without quick success over the seasons it will become increasingly difficult not to get sacked.
However, i am really enjoying this type of challenge havent done this before with youth only.
Long term goal, stadium after myself for the first time on the game.

Just had my first batch of youth intake at FC United, a 15 year old Anthony Connor. (He won't be here long I feel a club higher up will poach him off me for peanuts) Made his debut in the FA Trophy, scored after 2 minutes and then got himself sent off.
Welcome aboard - my kind of player!!

Never done this one before - have done the dafuge challenge a few times over the years but never youth only.
I have taken on FC United.
Any tips? I imagine that once the players start to move on and retire it is going to get incredibly hard!

Update from my game, still enjoying it thoroughly!
Won the league on the last day ahead of PSV. I only lost 1 game aswell and they ran me to the end!
Just about to sign this 16 year old, probably one of the best i have seen in a game! he will be a backup for now but will be a good asset to the Jong Ajax boys.
Bringing Kluivert back hasnt worked out so far, Neres was far more effective but it was a 35m net swing in favour of selling and buying back Kluivert.
Nothing special tactic wise, this is always reliable for me in most FM's. although i do fancy a 343 with wing backs (the wolves way!)
We finally had a small boost in the League rankings, we now have 1 qualifying for Champions league directly so no more playoff games! Looking forward to trying in Europe again and developing some more younger players!

I didn't face too many issues first season, managed to reject and just offer new long term deals and made sure i removed all release clauses so i could cash in if it was required, like now it seems.
Tempted to take the £50m for Neres, 40 upfront and 10 in instalments and try to implement a youth team player in the AMR role, however Neres has been absolutely brilliant for me. So replacing him could be tough but definitely doable for that kind of money.
I also accepted and sold Ziyech to Inter for £32m as he just didn't play for me and was only a squad player.
I have gone back in for Kluivert to bring him home, should he come back i will accept the £50m for Neres .
Really enjoying this Ajax save so far, very rare for me to move outside of England on FM's but finally found an enjoyable change, not too hard domestically but PSV certainly don't go away, but a big challenge to conquer europe again with so many powerhouses now.

Starting to get tougher to hold off the bids now, being battered for Neres, Dolberg, Ligt and Ziyech. Really don't want to let them go due to replacements and the philosophy i wanted to install on this save. But seems like it's going to be incredibly tough to do so! Already turning down 57m bids for Ligt from City.
I need a backup plan ASAP! Sitting top just mid season 2, PSV matching my every result. Won the CL group with ease, 4-2-0. Thought I would get a favourable knockout draw, Man City didn't win their group and i got them! So tough one coming up.
Would be gutted if i have to get rid of Dolberg, 24 in 23 for me he really has been the business! Hes signed up long term but the harmony in the squad is taking a huge hit with these rejected bids!

2nd Season i am struggling a bit at the min, not clicking like it did in season one, however my champions league group consists of Zenit, Celtic and Leipzig so definitely have a chance to get out of in the top two this time.
Transfers so far Antonio Marin, Svetozar Markovic and Christian Kouan who looks a cracking player. Got rid of Hunterlaar as Dolberg is incredible.

I would imagine so, just wondered if anyone else encountered it, I am not complaining something interesting for this save definitely. i didn't thing it was allowed and never seen a B team/reserve team ever allowed to be in the same league, nevertheless. I am going to ensure they don't get relegated on this one and try and get them into Europe alongside my team!

Hi Guys, also playing as Ajax, won the league first season and came bottom of the CL. I am trying a youth only approach only signing young players and using my own system. Currently only signed Antonio Marin from Dinamo to play AML. Got a couple of promising players through the academy so they are in Jong Ajax squad, who won the league. Now - i have never seen this before, but they have been promoted into my league? I didnt know this was allowed but its brilliant!! anyone else seen this.
