@wkdsoul You, my friend, are an absolute game changer!  I only discovered your response last night, and have since had a little play and managed to flawlessly import players to not only an empty database but an already populated one using a spreadsheet and a mail merge.  If I get an opportunity, and obviously recognising your help, i will upload my spreadsheet, merge template and xml file so that others can use it.  Obviously, you need to understand what you need to copy over and where to, but genuinely this is the missing piece in my jigsaw puzzle.

Hi all, I'm not getting the game until at least the end of next week, but am doing a little project prior to owning the game that requires the next (new) UID for the following items:

Local Regions

Cities

Clubs

Competition 

Stadiums

Basically, on a new database (without any edits), add a new item in each of the above categories and tell me what the Unique ID is at the very top of the page. This might not be an option for local regions, in which case you'd need to find the last UID on the current list and add 1!

If someone could assist me with this I'd be very grateful!

[UEFA Competitions update problem]

As far as i'm aware this can't be done.  There are files out there that can start your game in April/May 22, but the leagues will still sim the 21/22 season so qualifiers for the 22/23 season will still be chosen in game, no matter what you do.

Someone else might be able to give you a better answer, but unfortunately, i'm 99% certain this can't be done.

So in the competitions Detail screen, you need to set the level of the competition to the one in your league structure.  For example, if the competition level is set to 2, it needs to be this in the nation's rules, otherwise you'll continue to get this message.

Comp level in the main comp page should look like this

 

The same comp will look like this in the general tab in comps in Nation Rules.

Hi, if you go into the club, you can change their co-efficient in the "competitions/General" tab.  If you want to change lots of clubs, you can select as many of you need and change them all at once.

A year or so ago, there was a very useful thread (below) which outlined how you can use Excel to update an XLM file to use with other editor data.  There was also much talk of using script, however i believe the person who was responsible for creating the tool hasn't been able to complete what he started for whatever reason.... we all have periods like that!

Within the thread, although there is plenty of discussion, there are no working examples of how people have achieved this and i was wondering if anyone was willing to share their files on here so others can use the information?

[Continental competition not choosing the right teams!]

Still trying different ways of getting this to work, but for .what ever reason the game doesn't want to do exactly what I'd like to do.  It's very annoying!

Basically i am trying to add a 4th European Trophy which runs alongside the existing in game European Competitions.  So far, i have had limited success and i was wondering if anyone can assist me to get it exactly right (will add to Steam if i'm happy with it)

So i've set up the EURO Vase as the 4th competition and when selecting teams have (asked the game to ignore teams already qualified for continental competitions.  On a positive note, this bit works fine, and the competition runs alongside the existing ones... The problem i have is that the teams qualifying aren't the teams that should be qualifying.  I would like the highest placed team in a league that hasn't qualified for the main competitions to qualify for this one, but so far, the editor just doesn't want to play ball.  I thought that i'd achieved this (under the teams heading in the main comp, not in stages) by using "Best Teams in Division,COUNTRY,1,(sorted by) last Position (ascending) however after the first season, it seems to vhose a random team from each country.  I have also tried using "All Teams from Division", and that has had no joy either.  I have used similar rules in the North American Structure that i've built, but i still had issues (which were never solved) when trying to chose teams that weren't placed.

Can anyone assist me?

Thanks Rusty.  I think i will change the dates anyway, however I've discovered that its a clash with one (or more) of the nation rules files that i am using.  I am currently testing to see which one(s) is/are affected!

Thanks Rusty.  Unfortunately, this isn't the problem.  The competition will test fine, and teams will populate it.  When you run it in game you get this....

Hi, i've created a North American structure which now works perfectly as it is, however i really want to add an extra competition but something really wierd is happenning.

So editor testing works fine, and the game can run through for years with no issues with any of the competitions.  The file also verifies... the issue i have is that when I test the file in game, the competition gives the set up dates, etc, but doesn't actually run the competition.

I've attached the latest file in the hope that someone can assist me.  It's not a problem, but it would enhance the enjoyment of my game if i can get it to work.

[Recording playoff history]

Hi all, in the original database, the playoff winners of the Welsh Premier League are listed under previous years, however once the game starts they are not recorded.  Is there anyway to populate this column?  The image below shows that my current settings show both the league places first followed by the playoff winner...

Also having issues with the previous History of the Youth Cup not being showed in game, and would welcome some assistance with this if anyone has any ideas?

I've looked for the answer to this for a while and as yet can't find anything to help me.

I'm trying to make the winner of each group in a competition the champion of that group and wold like it recording in the history of both the club and the competition, but can't find an appropriate setting.

I've tried "Other Stage Rules", and also trying to find a way using the history setting, but nothing seems to work.

Other Stage Rules require separate stages, whereas all my groups are in 1 stage... any assistance would be gratefully recieved.

Hi.  I have a really strange issue when i search for players within the editor.  The columns are all greyed out (see example below) but it obviously recognises that there are players there... can anyone assist me?  I've tried with a normal database as well as my editor file, below.

Thanks for your response but this doesn't do what i want though.  I'd like to stop a team getting promoted if their ground doesn't match the criteria of the league above.  If you set the stadium criteria, the team would stil get promoted but would have to play at an alternative stadium.

Hi all.  This is just a really simple question, but i was wondering if it was possible to make promotion & relegation subject to criteria, in particular ground capacity, so if a team wins the league or playoff and doesn't have a big enough ground then the promotion & relegation is cancelled altogether rather than it go to the next highest team?  I imagine it would be quite awkward to administer but i was just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible?

You need to test this thoroughly before you role it out mate.  I've just tried to verify it as there's an issue with the dates.... teams are on holiday during the playoffs.  You need to amend/adjust the dates to get to a point where this works.
