It's definitely somewhere between today and next week!

all this speculation will result in my manager face filled with grey hair

@Grez if the newgens would not be generated to be similar to the real players, how would the game create balanced squads, similar in quality to the real clubs? Or would clubs have random CA/PA? I think that a completely randomized newgen database would be hard to do, not based on real life players.

Can't wait for next year's graphics revamp.
I'm ok with with the effort to further customise manager's appearance but the manager's screen looked horrendous since it was implemented.

"Screen flow" is a great tip! It should save me some unnecessary clicks when I'm just trying to get past the international breaks.

LLM tips:
- 1 or 2 year contracts because everyone is replaceable by someone better
- if someone wants high wages, ditch them and look for another player just as good
- simple tactics for simple players
- try to go far in the cups to try and get an away match against a "big 6"
- sell players with future transfer clauses, you never know

In addition, I would use Attack duties for both wing backs. They're the only wide players so you need to take full advantage of them.

I'd go first of all for a TM on Attack. He still offers support and uses his strength to hold up the ball.
Behind him for sure one Support and one Attack duty, and I'd go for mobile roles because the TM is fairly static.
Perhaps AP/S + SS/A + TM/A

They surely can make it playable with fake competition and club names

England is one of the most time-consuming leagues because of the congested calendar. Italy's seasons are easier to go by because there is only the league and the cup.
As an alternative you can try peripheric league like Norway, Serbia, or Croatia. The calendar is lighter and they are great fun to manage and discover hidden gems.

Set piece coaching is absolutely a 'real thing' and a vital component of most team's backroom staff. Every team works on set pieces in training!
The specific 'set piece coach' job title has become increasingly popular in recent years, however even before that it was (and still is) very common for set piece duties to be assigned to an assistant coach or goalkeeping coach in cases where the specific job title does not exist. Even if a team does not have a specific 'set piece coach' job, it's very likely that some other coach is doing the job as a dual-responsibility.
Set pieces contribute to over 30% of goals in football, so it's a vital aspect of the game that teams are always making sure to pay attention to, and certainly not just at Premier League level either - Italy won the Euros in part thanks to Gianni Vio, but at club level many sides in Denmark, Italy, England, Germany, Spain etc. all have dedicated set piece coaches, including some teams as far down as the conference level in the English pyramid.
Thanks for your input. My only doubt about this new role are the coach's traits. Does a coach really prefer "attack near post" or "prefer inswinging corners"? I would guess this has more to do with the type of players the squad has rather than a personal preference. Plus, these traits will be very difficult to scout and translate into the game.

Set pieces needed a revamp so this is a welcomed change.
What I believe was unnecessary were set piece coaches' traits. What info can you realistically scout from real set piece coaches? You'll get these from PL staff and not much more.

If the new ME looked like PES 3 it would be a massive improvements and that's saying a lot about the current graphics

That's not what I got from reading it. They said there were features that were removed from FM23 at the last minute because they were not ready so I imagine those will be in FM24 and since the game will be released this year it is still very early for them to announce any features because if they did that now the hype will go down before release day.
They'll never say it clearly, but when there's an announcement in the likes of "our game in 2025 will be huge but we still have 2024 first" it's not hard to get the message. I'm not complaining, though. If a big overhaul is coming in 2025 I can wait and still have FM24 in between.

This is probably the most honest text I've read from MJ. He finally admitted what the hardcore fanbase claimed about the last couple of iterations. Lack of development.
I'm very excited for the new chapter in FM25, it's a new look which is long overdue.
Basically they're already saying that FM24 won't have much news, possibly just the save compatibility and not much else, but I rather have this kind of honest communication than trying to justify lackluster announcements like in recent years.

You should double check all the steps and where you placed the correct folders. If everything's on the correct place it should work for you and anyone else.

Whatever you do, don't ever set a "match highest earner" clause

In past years there was some sort of licensing issue blocking maps from the game. But now there are maps in the scouting tabs so I don't know.

Be wary Poacher does not have "run with ball" instructions so you might want to consider an Advanced Forward role instead to take full advantage of a pacy striker

I had a blast with Wing Play 4-4-2, I did tweak it a bit and was using at level 9 or something with Cadbury Athletic
I used it for two seasons in the VNN but it was so hit and miss

From my testing, some of the preset tactics recreate the desired style well enough but don't provide very good results, namely the wing play preset.
Vertical tiki taka, gegenpress, and fluid counter attack seem to be the best.
