    Btw if Morocco do play England i think I'd fancy Morocco then too. Not sure England can break open a side this good defensively.

    Amrabat is player of the tournament btw. Unless Mbappé scores a hattrick later or something. I mean, Amrabat won't get such an accolade but he's been gargantuan every game.

    I think they still have home and away teams, even though it's all neutral. Morocco are the home team for this game, so presumably they have first shout on kit.

    Just the small matter of France later i guess. can't believe folk are looking at the SF possibilities when you have to face the defending World Champions who are also the best team England can face from here on anyway.

    I absolutely agree it's been really dramatic fwiw. Even without seeing much i recognise that - Spain 7-0, then being ****. Germany's story. Japan being great. South Korea defying odds, Saudi Arabia doing Argentina. Morocco's run so far, Croatia beating Brazil, there's loads of great storylines. It's a bit like if Vince McMahon was scripting the World Cup really. Maybe not got the quality but at least it's compelling

    "Good games are good" I'm not disputing that there's been good quality. I am disputing that there's been spades of pure entertainment. but you're right, i wouldn't really know.

    Would surely mean the other finalist is a shoe-in to win I'd actually really like one of Netherlands/Croatia to win it all just because it's a first time winner. but yeah i don't believe for one second that the quality of football would be riveting

    Sudden death penalties would be fun, haven't had one of those in a while

    There was about 8 mins of entertainment in Morocco v Spain and it was in the penalty shootout obviously that's just one small example but i think "pure entertainment" "in spades" has to be hyperbole.

    The games i have seen have been pretty bad too. Like there's been some great storylines such as Morocco beating Spain and Croatia beating Brazil, but in terms of footballing quality those were absolute dirge. E: and imo, 120 mins of **** football doesn't turn into high quality just because the plucky underdog won on penalties. A **** match is a **** match.

    I'm not even sure this is true. I feel like I've seen so many people say it's mostly boring matches bar the final half hour or so. Loads of 0-0s too. I've seen about 8 games so I'm not in a position to comment on the actual quality of the tournament but for every, "BEST WC EVER" post, there's an equal amount of "this is ****".

    I don't even mind it if they're referred to as Holland (correctly or otherwise). But "as we're allowed to call them" is just so mind-numbingly bad Growing up, Holland and Netherlands were synonymous to me and everyone i knew.

    You're right but also that's ridiculous because he's not favoured either side, from the 60% of the game I've seen anyway.

    Had to run out at 50 mins and checked the score, 0-2 at 80 mins so got home and decided not worth watching the final 10 put it back on now

    They are the 2nd smallest nation in two separate metrics to make the WC Final. Smallest population (behind Uruguay) and smallest country by land area (behind Netherlands).
