Alright... So on the picture above I want to loan the player to another club. So basically I don't get anything from that deal and keep paying the player salary both If he's used and unused by the loaning team?

What is the monthly contribution down at the bottom right? Is that his salary per month?

How should I decide the Playing Monthly Fee and Unused Monthly Fee values if he's valued at 1.7M?

And one last thing, I tried to loan a player from the Barca B team and the the deal was cancelled because I have a loan limit of 5 in my team and apparently I cannot terminate any of the these loans. Any way around it?

No, the Salary Percentage is the percentage of the player's wages that the loaning club will pay. In this scenario, Nimes will pay all of Lopez's wages for the privilege of loaning him from your club.

Monthly Contribution is the approximate total the loaning club will pay per month during the loan spell. This takes monthly fees and wages into account.

    Logo and Mascot Unveiled

Of course, can't have a World Cup without an obnoxious logo and dodgy mascot, and Spain have chosen a bull to be the theme, as long as we ignore Spain's horrific relationship with bulls.

    The logo

Berto The Bull will no doubt inspire Spain to brutally slaughter their opponents slowly and painfully. Or run away from them.

    Berto the Bull

That logo is actually not too bad - arguably better than a lot of the logos FIFA/UEFA have used for recent major tournaments. Mind you, I'm not sure what the (ahem) younger fans would make of that mascot!

  3. Arsenal aren't champions anymore. :( I wish I could say "Wenger out", but at least in your universe, Arsene quit while he was ahead.

There's a small typo in the Premier League segment, though. I'm sure you know that this is Liverpool's first title since 1990, not 1980. I should know - 1990 was the year in which I was born.

And forgive me if you've covered this somewhere before, but what exactly happened with Wayne Rooney in your game? I'm just curious.

  4. A couple more screenshots from my FM13 save. (I've started using Imgur because Photobucket is rubbish now.)

I once came across this grey player in my Under-18s. A player/journalist, maybe? :D

And this one isn't so much funny as mildly amusing. FM always keeps the histories of every player who makes it into your seasonal Select XI (or at least the substitute's bench), even if their careers turn out to be ludicrously short failures... like this one-hit wonder.

  5. I have fond memories of an England save on CM99/00, in which I won the 2002 World Cup and 2004 Euros. I got as far as the 2010 World Cup qualifiers when my old computer died and I had to stop.

Anyway, among the players I picked for England over the years were Michael Walsh (Port Vale right-back), Anthony Tarr (Port Vale striker), David Collins (Burnley striker), Steve Housham (Scunthorpe midfielder) and the late Martin Garratt (York midfielder). Tarr in particular was an absolute beast.

I remember all those names just as fondly as the likes of Campbell, Owen, Shearer, Beckham, etc... (I'm sure there are more obscure icons somewhere in my memory banks, but it's been seven years since I last played that save.)

  6. Me: "Okay, that's almost it, Daniel. You just have to sign there, on the dotted line, and everything's done and dusted."

Daniel: "I'd be more than happy to."

Me: "Good lad. And now all that's left for me to do now is to officially welcome you to Millwall Football Club."

Daniel: "Thanks. I can't wait to get started."

Me: "Training starts tomorrow at 9, and I want you fit and raring to go from the off. I'm aware that you've not got the best track record with injuries, so do take care on your way out, please."

Daniel: "Don't worry, boss, I'm sure it'll be alri-ARGHH, ME GROIN!"

  7. I'm loving the sheer amount of detail that you have put into this story so far. It's always great to read about what's going on in the game world outside of the main storyline. Nice to see Arsenal dominating the Premier League and Dagenham & Redbridge winning promotion to the Football League.

Steve McClaren actually took England to a major finals? And Peter Beardsley replaced him after he inevitably failed?

ENGLISH MANAGER TO MANAGE BLOODY FOREIGNERS - Sky News
IRAN, IRAN SO FAR AWAY - The Sun

Nice reference to A Flock Of Seagulls there, but surely that first headline is more suited to the Daily Mail? :D

  8. I'm another player who's been seeing a lot of "I don't think he meant that" crosses that almost went in the net. I'm in mid-September in the first season (managing Millwall) and I've seen seven crosses (some for me, some against me) that were pushed behind by the keeper, and one that actually went in.

I think I've stumbled upon a potentially bigger issue, though. There have been a couple of occasions in which a replay is NOT shown after a goal, but instead, it goes straight to the next highlight from the restart. On both occasions, the highlight in question results in another goal.
