  1. 3rd season with Brighton. won europa, 4th in league, reached final of carabao (lost to liverpool, who won the league this year), and reached semis of FA cup. both board and supporters are 'extremely disappointed' that i lost 3-0 to man city, who lost out on the title to 'pool on goal difference. can any team in the world, barring the very best, of which Brighton are not, consider a 3-0 loss to one of the best teams to have ever played football, 'extremely disappointing'? i've taken them the champs league for the first time in their history, and won europa ffs. if this isn't an A+ season for Brighton, i don't know what is. in real life, i think last season was something like A+ for them. i'm from Brighton and many people round here seem to think this is a golden age already--perhaps one that will be short lived, perhaps not. but i tell you what--if we won the europa this year, and secured 4th place, and reached the semis and finals of both domestic cups respectively, i suspect many would be having to dream up a new level of qualification with which to rate their season, a bit like how A*'s were introduced to recognise the very greatest of academic achievers. and now the board are saying they want me to challenge for the title in 2 years. **** sake lads! barring utter capitulation from pool, city and chelsea, who all finished above me, plus never mind utd, tottenham, villa, newcastle, arsenal, west ham, all of whom pose a great threat in the league, i think it's very unlikely....
  2. can't create new scouting focus outside of europe have plenty scouting focuses already set up around the world, but the game suddenly won't let me add new areas outside europe. experiencing the issue when trying to create new focuses and also when trying to edit old focuses.
  3. just had a good chat with guindo, who i recalled from loan, to help out with some injuries. he had been upset about being left out of europa squad, as i couldn't fit him in. i waffled a bit, he bought it. there was then lots of green-highlighted words; it had gone positively. i submitted the final europa squad a day later, and then i get the attached email, saying guindo is unhappy with how i've been treating him over the past few months. besides the fact he's been back from loan only a couple of weeks, i think his behaviour is completely erratic. i saved the game, as per, before talking to him; every response i try has a negative outcome. the only way to keep him happy is to promise to let him leave, yet i've bought him back to play first team football, so i have no intention of that. but the main point, is that we only just had a positive chat the day before, where he accepted my explanation for leaving him out europa. were he a real person, i'd be very worried about him. as it's a game, i suspect this is a glitch. to demonstrate what a sorry and confused state he's in, i've attached a few screenshots, which show that he is both happy at our recent chat, and feels he's been treated unfairly. i suppose i could concede to it being possible to feel these two things simultaneously, were they not relating to the same situation; and were it not a game, where people are supposed to be less complex than in real life. let's face it, he's not having these differing reactions because he's feeling mixed about the situation. his mixed feelings is owing to a bug.
  4. did the budget disappear cos of bonuses paid out for reaching carabao cup semis? i recall there being bonuses agreed at start season but not sure where to check on this. but my concern goes further, in that i just agreed to loan out a backup keeper to help claw some money back and it's pushed me further into minus, by 20k, instead of pushing me into the green by 20k. surely a bug here? and quite a bad one if so. save file uploaded Richard Allan - Brighton10. This is just before Verbruggen goes out on loan.
  5. i see that now, but just to be clear, i did check their trophy history but it wasn't showing. i was very clear to check, cos i'd had this issue the previous year. do they show up automatically upon teams winning a cup? or can it take some time to appear in their trophy cabinet?
  6. diomande has just returned from the african world cup pretty jaded. advised to rest him for a match. did so. he was fine with it. played him a week later. he has the orange rest symbol AGAIN. i took him off about 60mins into the game as well. so a week wasn't a sufficient enough rest. no biggie, i think to myself. so i'll rest him again. propose this to him, and he's going batshit, saying 'you always want to rest me'. i always save my game before player interactions cos you can never tell how they'll go. it's proving not worth it. i'm going to rest him without discussion taking place, but he'll moan/be concerned come matchday as he's an important player and wants to play mostly every game. so either i upset him by resting him, or i upset him by not playing him enough, which will send shockwaves through the dressing room as he's my best CD. this mechanic is broken in my eyes, and needs addressing.
  7. chasing this again, any thoughts? tottenham smashing it this year cos of this awarded UCL spot, meant they were able to bring in players out of brighton's grasp. uploaded a save file. Richard Allan - Brighton10
  8. abysmal youth intake for a second year running. really, with youth facilities Brighton have?
  9. being suggested to recruit a guy with 14 judge ability 16 judge potential, to replace a guy with 16 in each the meetings with backroom staff is often a tiresome affair, but sometimes i attend to see if they'll suggest some good staff or individual training programmes for players. rarely happens. i often get suggested to try training 'x' player in 'x' area, for example endurance; only to be told 4 days later that they're showing no signs of improvement. these two particular mechanics--the issue of being suggested under-par candidates to replace current employees; and the suggestion of training areas for players, only to tell me less than a week later to give up all hope of them trying to improve--have been an issue for years and need addressing. photos show stats of staff member being suggested vs currently employed staff member
  10. any thoughts on this yet? season up and running and it's frustrating to see spurs with that ucl spot. especially as it's allowed them to buy endrick and roque, from madrid and barca respective, so it's allowed them to strengthen in a way they wouldn't have otherwise.
  11. start of a new season and suddenly 18 players backing my captain, kicking off about goalkeeper depth??? our keeper situation has been exactly the same for over 12 months. it's knocked the dressing room vibe and morale of players, which was sky high heading into season, all dark greens, is now pretty flat. save file uploaded recently--Richard Allan - Brighton8
  12. yeh that's how i've framed it to myself for now. hoping for a better intake next year!
  13. to start with supporters: - very disappointed at the sale of March, but he asked to leave for a new challenge. it wasn't up to me! I also sold him for £60m, which for a 30yo, isn't too shabby business-wise if you ask me. - disappointed at the sale of gilmour. i tried to sign him onto a new contract, he refused; owing, i suppose, to the fact he hasn't played too regularly. so i sold him for £40m with one year left on his contract--decent business, i feel. my backroom staff condoned this moved, encouraging me to place him on the transfer list. - sold lamptey for £60m, who, yes, had a good season last season, but was too often injured at crucial moments. i can't explain this to supporter though. i can just about get my head around this disappointment, but not the two above. board: - disappointed with the finances involved to sell March?? really? i think he had one or max two years left on his contract. and at the age of 30?? james ward-prowse is the same age at the moment in the game, and i can snap him up for under £50m if i wished. relatively, i think i've done well to get this kind of money for March. they should be giggling their way to the bank! save file uploaded--Richard Allan - Brighton8
  14. thanks. I'm about to get going with the new season, but I'm still interested to know what's going on
