  1. FM09 has the editor but pretty basic. In FM10, they added advanced rules.
  2. I've given it a shot with the FM24 editor, but no luck there. The FM09 editor is pretty basic—it only lets you tweak competition details like the name, continent, history, and such.
  3. Hello, I'm interested in maintaining the traditional European competition formats from 2004 to 2009 in Football Manager 2009. Specifically, I'm keen on retaining the Intertoto Cup. Could you guide me on how to accomplish this through an xml file?
  4. So, I call all the teams in The African Champions League I call all the teams in The African Confederation Cup I ignore the best teams in The African Champions League I ignore the best teams in The African Confederation Cup I get the best teams from Division, Algeria, 2 (should I add the league too or only the Nation?) I get the best teams from Division, Morocco, 2 I get the best teams from Division, Tunisia, 2 I get the best teams from Division, Egypt, 2
  5. Thank you for your reply. I tested with 4 Arab leagues in Africa (Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria). 2 teams from each league will be selected for the group stage (Stage 0). 1. I put the setup date to September 1st. The African continental competitions have a setup date in July. 2. I added the following in Qualified Teams: However, it always selects the league champion and runner-up from the previous season. I tried to simulate the next edition of the tournament but the champion and runner-up are still selected. 3. I added an entry ''get best teams from division'' and I have got this:
  6. Hello, I would like to create a cup in which Arab clubs that did not qualify for their respective Asian and African continental tournaments will participate in this tournament. I find it difficult to add the best or 2 best teams that did not qualify for example for the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. Tournament: Arab Confederation Cup This is how I want my tournament to go: 22 Arab countries 32 clubs 2 clubs from the top 10 leagues 1 club from the rest 12 leagues For example, in the Algerian league: 1st - CAF Champions League 2nd - CAF Champions League 3rd- CAF Confederation Cup 4th- CAF Confederation Cup or Arab Confederation Cup (Depending on the winner of the Algerian cup) 5th- Arab Confederation Cup 6th- Arab Confederation Cup (Depending on the winner of the Algerian cup)
  7. Thank you very much. That's a great help. A. In advanced rules, how can I adjust the calendar (Dates and Fixture Dates) to be compatible with 10 matches in the group stage (2nd round)? 10 matches in each group (5 groups of 6 teams). Default format = (2nd Round) 6 matches --> Second Round 0,1,2,3,4,5. However, as you can see below (Dates), it was not possible to add [Second Round 6 (Matchday 7)]. Instead, I added a specific date (24 March 2022). B. Could you please explain what are these years (2000,2002,2003) in Fixture Dates?
  8. Thank you very much for your explanation. A. Could you please tell me how I can edit the following based on 10 matches in the second round? 2nd Round --> 10 matches per group (5 groups of 6) B. Could you please tell me how to automatically select the bottom 48 teams (for the 1st round) in Africa based on World Ranking? Same goes to the top 6 teams (for the 2nd round) in Africa.
  9. Is there a guide to getting the basic rules right? I'm having trouble editing the African qualifying section to a knockout stage (1st round) of 48 teams (Seeded) followed by a group stage (2nd round) of 24 teams + the top 6 teams in Africa (Seeded) divided into 5 groups. I'm in favor of keeping the default setup for other continental qualifiers because I like the 32 teams World Cup format. Also, I want it to be permanent.
  10. A. I want to change the format of the African World Cup qualification (54 teams). I like the format used in the 04-05 qualification campaign which includes: 1st Round ---> Knockout Stage (Home and Away) 48 teams = 24 (Seeded) v 24 (Unseeded) teams 2nd Round ---> 24 teams from the 1st round join the 6 best African teams seeded by World ranking. So, 5 groups of 6 teams (Home and Away) 6 pots (Seeded) in 5 groups ( Pot 1 ---> 5 teams, Pot 2 ---> 5 teams, etc.) The top team in each group qualifies to the 32 teams World Cup. I also want this format to remain permanently after the 2022 edition because I don't like formats that have greater than 32 teams. Regarding the calendar (match days), for example: 1st Round ---> March 2021 2nd Round ---> June, September, October, November 2021 Interval --> Every 4 years B. I am a newbie to editing. So, I have watched many editor guides on Youtube and have read several posts here related to international editing. So far, following International Competition Editing Guide by Dynamo ZahnZee on Youtube, I succeeded in creating,a simple format, a single round of 9 teams in 6 groups. Besides, I have tried to edit the existing advanced rules in the existing format but I don't think it is doable without starting from the basic rules. C. I am only interested in the CAF world cup qualification. So, I don't know if it is possible to edit the CAF section only as it has no intercontinental play-offs and no AFCON qualification in the World Cup qualifying. D. Is there any guide/reference either videos or screenshots to make this edit from basic to advanced rules? Thanks in advance
