I can see the 'you're slightly less sackable' perspective - but in my experience from working on FM PC this just causes people playing the game to be less and less realistic - thus breaking the game immersion badly imho, eg. my Premiership Eastbourne Town Manager on FM PC is earning 500 quid a week because I keep the wage as low as possible so that it gives me the least financial impact to the club, suffice to say that my real-life contract is negotiated slightly differently ;)

I won't say it'll 'never' be done on FMM - but it isn't an area I'm looking at in the short-term for the reasons I've indicated.

PS.- Objectives are something which I believe we could expand in the future.

The low wage exploit is an issue. Could we get around it by making it so that players don't respect a manager who is earning less than them? Or just straight up have the club say they won't pay less than a certain amount (which you can only find by negotiating)? I guess that should be looked at in the pc game first though!

Thanks for engaging on so regularly this forum by the way, it's really appreciated. Except maybe by your wife

By all means imagine you have a contract if you want to - until it has an actual affect in game I don't think it's worth including I'm afraid.

(If you can explain 'why' it would make the game better to you apart from I like the idea, then I'll consider it for a future version)

From my point of view Marc, I think having contracts for a specific lengths of times with specific objectives and specific salaries, and realistic salaries could add a lot of realism to the game (if done correctly). It could influence how much a club will tolerate you (e.g. they can't afford to pay off your contract so they tolerate you for longer than if you were nearing the end). It's also a good metric for deciding which club to manage, if you're playing a career where you decide this is important.

I simulate my decisions on this sort of thing by considering the club's total wage budget (the larger it is, the larger they would be paying me)..

I see this coming up quite a lot on this forum so it seems to be quite a desired thing. You have previously made the point that there is nothing practical for the manager to spend their money on but for me its just a representation of your success as a manager. Ultimately it's a nice to have but it's just a detail. I can understand if you think there are better things to concentrate on, especially as getting this right would not be straight forward.

  3. Tbh I think this isn't so inaccurate. They're punching above their weight and doubting themselves. It's likely to lead to a drop in form, and is that not unrealistic. So far you're fighting it off looking at your results. Talk to your players, praise good performances etc (don't over do it as they get indifferent). You've got this.

This might be reflective of the team leaders personality. Check your team report where it rates their professionalism etc, I wonder what that would reveal?

Its NYE 2030. FC Andorra are currently level on points with Barce and Real for a 3 way tussle for La Liga after 18 league games, our first title assault. Building on last year’s 3rd place finish. A 23 man squad, all with 1 thing in common. They have to be Andorran to play for me. All developed out of the famed youth academy of FC Andorra....

6 years to make it into La Liga, with our first trophy coming last season (2029/2030) winning the Spanish Cup and the 3rd tier Europa League (Europa Cup II). Now a favourite of the 77,000 population of Andorra.

Finally taken over the reins of the Andorra National team. My 23 man squad now spend time together for their country. The youngsters love the development playing international football. Qualified for the World Cup in 2030. Promoted to The European League D, with the Euros in 2032 on the Horizon.

A couple of sons are playing week in week out (recommend getting a son for everyone) with a number of wonderkids who hopefully will be taking over the world this summer.

Its all looking up in Andorra.

    That's amazing, love it.

My current save is as Sligo Rovers, started as Cambrian & Clydach. Not finding that much time to play at the moment due to life and Christmas but should find some time over the weekend. First season in top flight and after a great start we are doing a Chelsea and faltering. Still, a 2nd place finish looks on the cards and I'm happy with that! This is a mercenary journeyman save in the British Isles so if a better job comes along I will follow the money.

  5. I'm currently using a similar tactic but with some different instructions. The differences are; I go wide and focus passing on the flanks, short passing, no work into box but look for overlap is on. Also, sit back but committed tackling and offside trap. I change mentality to suit the match but tend to default to control.

Bear in mind I'm managing in Irish league so much lower level. I am using 3 CDs but I'd go with BPDs like you have at a higher level. I'm also using a TF instead of a CF but again, CF might suit a higher level. Other players role are the same.

If he does decide he wants to move then don't forget you can talk to players and mitigate things somewhat - whether you decide to persuade people to stay or just try and keep them happy by indicating you'll eventually let them move on is up to you :D

I did this with a player, well I told him to stay or something along those lines and now he thinks I'm all talk no action. The cheeky effer got dropped :D

Thanks for mentioning this - any chance you can send the original save in (with the news item) if you have it? (it'll save QA trying to reproduce that exact situation).

(random fact: it's generally 'Algeria' in these sorts of situations because I think they're at 'id zero' in the database - so often show up as a default for such errors)

I love it when you drop these random tidbits Marc, don't stop :D

  8. I think if the job is showing as insecure then the job could be taken. I'm sure I read elsewhere that whether or not a nation can be managed depends entirely on how many players for that nation are available on the database. Therefore if @Cothucotchyhas encouraged the generation of more Andorran players by improving the youth team of FC Andorra then it is possible they would develop enough players to have a manageable national team.

Hopefully @Cothucotchy can tell us whether that is what happened because I agree that would be an interesting challenge!

In 🤣🤣the 2nd pic my GK let in 4 out of 5 shots and got rating 9, report said "poor shot stopping from GK" but when I tried to interact with him my assisstant recommended I praise him for excellent performance..

My guess would be your keeper got an assist.

P.s. since my last comment I'm now addicted. After a decent season with Cambrian & Clydach, finishing 3rd, and putting together a squad to challenge the title I got offered the Sligo Rovers job while they were in the first division near the end of their season. Took that and promptly secured promotion to the Premier Division via playoffs and won the Challenge Cup to boot for my first trophy on FMM22. Roll on the Premier Division and looking forward to the challenge of Europe as an Irish team.

What team are you playing as? - by default I'd suggest using the default tactics and then making only very small changes, I generally play with a 4-4-2 with a winger pushed forward (AML position) in the lower leagues for example ... nothing fancy.

I was playing as Bray Wanderers then Cowdenbeath. With Cowdenbeath I got especially downhearted as I joined a few weeks in after they had played some of the league cup group games - and they had won them all - but I was losing everything!

Decided to take a break and came back to it this weekend, started a new save as Cambrian & Clydach in Cymru South. Getting on much better with it although hit a tough patch form wise now.

Sorry to hear that - the game requires Metal support now so some of the oldest iOS devices had to be dropped because of this.

    :(

my iPad has had a good run but I guess it's time to retire it lol. Ironically I was panicking yesterday because I accidentally left it unattended in a bag outside for a couple of hours and was so relieved when I found it untouched and more than anything that's because I was gonna play fmm22!

To help me with the grieving process, is it one of the new features which required metal and if so which one? Or is Metal an iOs requirement now? Or if it's too technical to easily explain, or something security based meaning you can't tell me then of course say so.

I'm sure it will work on my phone but that won't be the same as an iPad screen. Ah well, such is life!

I mean, and I know I'm nitpicking here, I get how making a german/japanese NT playable calling for a license, but how does that apply to the sole idea of having a non playable NT and/or call ups without using any of their logos and kits be requiering a license. Every other nation that has a NT is playable in this game, as long you've got 50 players at some point, even North Korea. I'm grasping straws here, but I really want a german NT in this game, for completion's sake

I guess the German National Team has specifically sold their license separately to another company with exclusive rights, or is withholding it for whatever reason. It is a shame, they are two important nations we are missing, but clearly whatever price these teams are asking for is not worth it.

  13. To be brutally honest, I think music backing for football management games is just a gimmick to add atmosphere to games which are just poor imitations of the best game in the market - this one.

Our game creates its own atmosphere by knowing you have purchased the best mobile football management sim, which doesn't rely on pay to win mechanics nor multiplayer functionality to make it worthwhile playing.
