Really the only thing I didn't do is uninstall the driver and update it by downloading it from the website and not from Geforce Experience.

You probably tried this, but just in case you haven't, go to Nvidia Control panel and under Manage 3D settings check if FM is using the GPU or the integrated video card (if you have one). On my laptop it defaulted to the integrated video card so I had to manually tell it that for FM it should run the GPU.

Dangerous to assume something when you have no idea, I'm running Modern Warfare, Cyberpunk 2077, AC: Valhalla all on high graphics without any stuttering or lag whatsoever. So you're telling me I need a GTX 3090 to handle FM21 without stuttering, am I understand you correctly?

No, you're not understanding correctly. If people with high-end systems can run the game fine, it's something to do with your system. I can run it on maxed out graphics settings without stuttering on a high-end AMD+Nvidia and a mediocre Intel+Nvidia.

The game runs really poorly on high end systems, this bug has been present in previous iterations as well but has later been fixed. So I'm stunned that it's actually back, I've played less than 2 hours on this years edition just because I can't stand watching a choppy match engine.

This is an issue with your system. I have a high-end PC, everything runs smoothly on "Very High" graphics settings. The same graphics settings run smoothly on my moderate-end laptop. In both cases initially the graphics were stuttering, which was resolved by updating the driver and restarting the game. Zero graphics issues since then, both on fullscreen and windowed.

Buuuut, I'm not sure on the real life stats on hattricks? But I see a lot, both from my teams and others in an active league. Not always from attacking players either.

I've noticed that goals to far post from wide angles are much easier to convert in FM21, so my full/wingbacks are scoring for fun. I've had Kimmich score 8 as a Fullback (A) two seasons in a row and recently a regen Wingback (A) (on fullback position) scored a hattrick in the CL final.

But I see slightly different statistics for the players and the match, depending on the mode.

If you haven't played the same match 100 times on each mode, and 100 times when the mode is randomly changed throughout the match, (so in total 600 matches), averaged out all the data and accounted for wild randomness, you really don't have a basis to claim that statistics are different depending on the mode. If you have, I'd like to see and replicate the data :)

  6. First thing you can do is go to the Filtered drop down menu and select Hide Players - Not home-grown. This will show you only those that are home-grown for both league and ECC.

Under Squad - Players drop down menu, choose registration and choose ECC. Now only home-grown players according to the ECC rules will have the HGC/HGN icons next to their name. However the column "home-grown status" will still say home grown according to league rules.

For player searches, under Search go to Additional Conditions - Add Condition - Home-Grown Status (should be the near the top). There is now a "Trained in... " drop down menu where you can choose various options. To list players trained at your club, choose "Trained at club 15-21"  and then your club (you should also choose "Trained at club 0-21" but put the OR as the conjunction). Now add also another condition which will have "Trained in nation 0-21" and choose Wales.

  7. All Ibero-Americans (which is not the same group as South Americans) can be naturalized in Spain after 2 continuous years of presence. What @FrazT is saying about certain countries not allowing dual nationalities applies only to Venezuela, as after age 25 those Venezuelans with a passport of some other country must renounce the foreign nationality or forfeit their Venezuelan citizenship.

I've never tried to naturalize a Venezuelan player, but otherwise the game will normally grant Spanish citizenship after 730 days plus 40ish days for processing.

Feels silly to wait that long to see the shout take effect, especially because it no longer applied to the match situation (and there's no option to cancel a shout).

The shouts take effect immediately (pay attention to players' morale on the bottom tray, it will change immediately), it's only the notification that's late.

There are quite a few bugs with notifications, sometimes I get notified to substitute an injured opposition player. Sometimes it wants me to sub an outfield player for the keeper etc.

The stat "Errors" doesn't show any numbers, so seems that no players are making any mistakes never in any game.

    Just perfect robots playing football!

Stat tracking is bugged across the board.

Free kick goals and key tackles are not recorded. Assist leaders in a season and the overall record holder for assists are both not shown.

I take it nobody else is experiencing this?

I've just checked my game, and it is the same, 0 free kick goals in Serie A. And not just Serie A, but every league.

However, I distinctly remember one of my players scoring a free kick goal. And what do you know, he did score a free kick goal in a Serie A match. It looks like the stat board is bugged.

  11. After 261 games played it happened: a goal suspected for offside was given after a VAR check. However, there was no VAR animation like there is when goals are disallowed or when penalties are called. That the ref was doing a VAR check was mentioned only in the commentary.

I suspect that VAR on offside is not working properly, and it seems like there are two instances of VAR in the ME, one that's triggered on an offside goal and comes with the animation, and the other much rarer that approves a goal and appears in commentary only.

If anyone wants to take a look at this, it's the final goal in the attached match.

  12. If this is a know issue, I apologise in advance, I wasn't able to find a topic on the bugs forums.

For the second season in a row I'm getting a notification that certain players will require work permits after 1/1/20xx, however I'm playing in a EU league, so no work permits for EU nationals are required.

The notification is listing only those EU players that at the start of the game were based in the UK.

Furthermore, not all of my EU players that were in the UK at the start of the game are on the list. For example Emerson is not (neither is de Bruyne but he has English second nationality)

I have a save game file approx. 2 weeks before this happens - let me know if you would like me to upload it somewhere.

Is anyone seeing quite a few missed penalties? Across 4 different teams and saves, I would venture to guess about roughly a 75% miss rate on the user side. I basically expect them to be saved when given at this point. (small sample size admittedly)

I'm seeing the opposite extreme with penalties rarely missed. I'm playing with a top club and even in shootouts, where not everyone has a good penalty attribute, penalties are rarely missed.

  14. Here is an example from my save for which I think the various factors mentioned by Neil don't work as intended.

    Context:

In April of season 2 I signed CR7 on a free as a Star Player on a 1-year deal. His reason for joining me was my position in the league. I was winner of Serie A in season 1, but at the time of CR7 signing a deal I was 2nd, with Juventus being 1st. This is more-or-less reasonable because Juventus didn't offer him a contract, they've actually transfer-listed him for refusing to sign a contract, and no-one else offered one.

End of season 2 I'm the Serie A champion and made it to the final of the Champions League, which I lost.

    Present:

I'm in January of season 3 with Milan, so CR7's first season with me. I'm first in the league, qualified for 1st round of the Champions League with ease, CR7 scored 20 in 17. PSG offers him a contract - I counter it. His requests: essentially the same contract he is already on, Star Player with 375k pw in wages. I even give him a larger sign-on fee.

His decision: signs with PSG as an Impact Sub on a 210k pw in wages.

So what could be the factors of him choosing PSG over Milan:

Location: Paris is the "fancier" city, but it's not like Milano is Milton Keynes.

Culture: Italy pretty much same level as France

Footballing (Club) Culture: Italy by far

    League Reputation: in-game Serie A is 3rd, Ligue 1 is 5th

Club Reputation: both clubs have 4.5 stars, Milan is above PSG on the list

Teammates: as of this season Milan has ambitious new owners who brought in Haaland and Pulisic on their own accord. Other notable teammates: Donnarumma, Lucas Hernandez, Tagliafico, Camavinga, Greenwood, Tonali, Kessie and most recently De Bruyne. So it's not like I'm lacking top level quality.

Overall it seems very odd that he would choose to be Neymar's backup in PSG when he's the key player of a team challenging for the CL.

  15. I agree with you @Smurf that coding a simulation of VAR is not easy. What I am saying is that currently VAR feels as just a cosmetic add-on, at least when it comes to goals disallowed for offside. It feels like faux VAR where the animation is triggered after the ME has already decided that the goal is offside, and only then (here I'm talking about offside goals only, for penalties it works better). Because there is no action in the other way, that is VAR triggering when the ME decided that the goal is lawful, it just becomes dull and predictable.

When it comes to goals, I've only ever had 1 goal allowed by VAR, and this wasn't for an offside check, but a supposed foul in the box.

There is a more realistic variation when a penalty foul is decided by VAR, so it's puzzling to me how it works well in this situation but not in others.
