Yes, so I'm scouting the teams in our division as they are all from our local area and also the U19s League. When scouting clubs like Betis & Sevilla I am asking scouts to provide reports from the B Team and U19s.

The filter was a long process, using a map of Andalusia I created a search filter to only show players from the area. I started with ensuring the big cities were in there and then added the smaller cities and towns. It was a tedious process but at least it's done now.

Is there any way you could export and share that filter? Would love to use it as well, thinking to start with Huelva as well!

Also, when you say that you're "asking scouts to provide reports on B and 19s", how do you do that? Just specifically select those teams when setting the scouting assignment? Or is there a different way to do so?

Thank you, sadly there isn't way to specify the region of Spain in FM. I have created a filter to only show players from Andalusia if I have to venture into the player search. You can assign scouts to scout certain clubs so I can ask one of my scouts to look at youth/reserve players at Sevilla or Granada etc which given the financial situation at Huelva might be our best shot at recruiting half decent players.

So your scouting you've set to manual, selecting those clubs then? The entire club, or just the youth)B teams? Curious!

And what about the filter you've made for player search, how did you do that? I thought the player search only allows for countries as a geography?

  3. @FrazTIt's just the option to cancel a transfer when you're on the confirmation screen, no clue why you start talking about laws lol

@fc.cadoni I'm aware, but it's been months by now. It's not that he is "not interested", I literally just cannot make an offer, like you can see on the screenshot.

It's been months in-game now, still nothing I can do. I've tried making a new manager at a new club to make an offer from there, also didn't work. This is clearly a bug by now..

  4. There's a player for who I've made a transfer offer and subsequently a contract offer. Both were accepted but I delayed the transfer for about a week of 2, then I decided to cancel. Now I'm trying to make a new offer, but I don't see the usual options to make a transfer offer. Rather, it just tells me "transfer negotiations cannot take place. [name] has already accepted a contract offer".

However, there is no other offer for him at the moment. I'm the only club interested and my club is shown in "major interest", not in "recent offers".

I cannot cancel or withdraw my previous offer (again) anymore either in his profile or in the transfer centre, so it seems like it is properly cancelled. So, why can't I make a new offer?

It is doable without a 2nd manager, whether its easier/harder is difficult to say. It will help eventually but i tried it with 2 managers (1 at calcio and 1 in san marino league) last season. Its a very long process with just the 1 manager and i was 10 years in before i produced a player capable of making the jump to San Marino Calcio.

Im not sure it will effect the intakes at San Marino Calcio but i do know (or have read) that depending on how important football is in a country, this has some influence on intakes. You would probably need to develop the league as a whole rather than one team to see this have any effect. You can do this with one team but again its a long process of earning your domestic league european coefficients and that leads to more places in Europe for your league etc.

Also i personally wouldnt recommend starting with the national team, its a long slog between the start of the game and the point you can start picking up wins, each to their own though. Good luck whatever route you take.

    Hi Lewis,

Thanks for the quick reply! Super helpful. Managing a San Marino league club on the side will take too long for me to be honest, so I will just go with San Marino Calcio then. I will reconsider the national team, you make a good point. However, if I then want to be able to join the San Marino national team with my own manager, then I will have to wait for the job to actually open up, right?

On a side note, I see you are racing through your seasons incredibly fast. How do you do that? Do you simulate all matches or actually play them?

  6. Hi everyone! I'd like to get some help to get started and join all of you on this challenge, I hope that especially @duesouth can provide a bit of advice, as I see you seem to be the OP. I will use the save game provided by BB to get started in the Serie C (1 year simulated). Next, I've downloaded this (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1916855633) through the workshop to replace Cattolica with San Marino Calcio, which was also done by BB. As much as I like the name of Cattolica, I love the colors, logos etc. of the original San Marino Calcio. Additionally, I have added the San Marino leagues (by Claassen), as that will hopefully give some better development to San Marino as a football nation.

Having done the above, could anyone please confirm whether this the setup that allows me to play the challenge properly? I worry most about the youth intake. Will these consist of (mostly) San Marinese (hope that's how I should call them)? Otherwise it will be a hopeless exercise.

I'm planning to start with the San Marino Calcio job and combine it from the start with the San Marino national team job. Only remark in that case is that I have 100% knowledge of all the San Marinese players, due to me being the national team coach and having the full database at my disposal.

    EDIT:

Will this challenge be doable without having a second manager, managing a local San Marino team? I'm reading your posts and it sees like many of you actually do. Will it somehow increase the CA and PA of the youth intake of San Marino Calcio and the country in general?
