  1. wingers. i never get my wingers performs consistently, be it on mc strata or amc. what i did notice is that the opposition wingers (always) dancing around my backline from one corner to the other to have a shot and scores.
  2. i've tried libero on in a back 3 n 4. never seen they covers anyone. when the opposition gets the ball they just slot back in.
  3. i think the libero works well with higher defensive line against low block. but that depends on the personnel too. one thing i dont like playing the libero is the rest defense. 2 at the back with my low/mid table team, inviting. the 352 is my go to formation in fm24. i use the tactic as a base and adapts what kind of play our opponent is playing. keeping the play out of defend regardless who our opponent is. against gegenpressing i use low block + standard defensive lines and pass into space, and put roaming on both strikers. against team who build from the back i use mid block/high, both strikers mark the center back positions and the more attack midfielder marks the dm position. ticked prevent keeper short passes. i had giants in my fc twente, when they hoof the ball, thats when we win the ball back. this one works well. never tried both wingback on attack. i did after reading your post. it works better in my setup than the 1 wingback on support and 1 cwb on attack. thank you.
  4. nice explaination. i like how your players move into position. 352 is my go to formation in fm24. might change my libero on the rcb slot and use wingback on attack instead of cwb on the right.
  5. you can always try hoofing the ball forward. and watch them coming back or u might get lucky with flick ons. or take the risk to experiment with working from the back. i think if you want to build from the back you need to have passing options. so player role or PI is important. this is what i use when fiorentina up the tempo and push higher up the field after we scored the equalizer. i have both my strikers on roam. after we scored the fluke own goal, fiorentina started to push high up the filed, upping their tempo with counter pressing. so i change to the tactic above, low block so all my players are compact together, mezzala and b2b roams. they drop deep or move into spaces to provide passing options. when we get near the halfway line my libero starts moving and create a box in midfield (2 boxes) , more passing options available. by this time if the attacking players, including the complete wingback on the right is in a good position, one of my midfields (usually the libero and the DLP) will start passing the ball direct, starting the counter attack. this created chaos as fiorentina players scrambling back. we got the 3rd n 4th goal on lower tempo. building from the back. maybe its luck. but that's football ----- i didnt start the game with the tactic above. was using the one for opponent who builds from the back. that one is high pressing and man markings. still haven't got it right. i'm still learning how to adapt to how my opponents play. -----
  6. hi, ever since leicester city and atletico madrid won the league i'm kinda attracted to this style of play. pragmatic. simple and "go-on-have-the-ball". they won the league surrounded by team who tends to play possession football. listening to my friends talking about how they won the league with bournemouth playing gegenpressing/tikitaka/everyboddy-must-touch-the-ball football made me go "ughhh". i stumbled on your old post for the previous FM, but i wasnt playing FM at that time so i just read and forget. this year i read through everything again and try your approach. i'm on a run to try and "knock manchester united out of their perch" with fc united. i tend (ALWAYS) starts with lowest license and past experience when i start a game. this made it a bit harder to sign players that was needed to run this pragmatic approach. my first 3 seasons made me give up on this approach midway through the season. i had no problem scoring goals, but i conceded a lot (60+ per seasons, 3 seasons straight) despite running the defence first approach. now on my 4th season i think i managed to have the right players i think managed to get this thing to work. i use a 352 formation because i havent manage to get any wingers to play properly since the pass few FMs. i sometimes drop the CMd to DM position depends on the opposition. i wanted to try and have less of the ball but most of the time i'll concede goals and draw the match despite making changes to try and be more solid at the back. so here's my tactic and mid season result. (i played my 2nd best players on cup matches so i would lose. the squad is not big/good enough to try and win everything). my target is not to concede 30 goals per season. no OI/PI except wingbacks on mark tighter an old willy manager once said "attack wins you games. defence wins you titles". p/s: i would love to see a 442 formation (flat/dm) trying the approach. mine is too inconsistent.
