But it’s ‘potential’ ability, players in-game don’t always reach it. I’m not saying that every player in their 20s should be given an increased PA, what am I saying is that there’s a generational gap in the data between, which is exaggerated by the natural fitness attribute of older high CA players staying at their prime longer.

If natural fitness is worded how you mentioned for researchers then it needs some rewording, as in-game the attribute lengthens how long a player maintains their top CA ‘past their prime’.

Rooney was never naturally fit. It’s like saying Gazza was naturally fit.

If natural fitness is worded how you mentioned for researchers then it needs some rewording, as in-game the attribute lengthens how long a player maintains their top CA ‘past their prime’.

In this context, Wayne Rooney's came in to the prem at around 16 years old? and left around 32 or 33? What an exceptional player he was by the way. However, it's plausible to debate whether he reached his peak by 28 or 29, given his extended tenure in the league from a very young age—around 10 or so years playing at his peak lets say.

Then to still consistently perform at the highest level week after week, month after month, and season after season—is a remarkable feat. Despite potentially passing his peak, the fact that he sustained such a high level of play for an additional 4, 5, or even 6 years beyond that phase speaks volumes about his exceptional natural fitness, wouldn't you agree?

  2. Sorry correction I conceded 4 in 5 which does read bad, so i get why the AI mentioned that in the end of month review and if the board were to be picky about something and wanted to highlight some sort of improvement to go hand in hand with all the praise that will be the thing to talk about.

However i would have thought the board would have seen that 3/4 of them goals were away to Liverpool @ Anfield ! so i would have thought that would have been fairly understandable along with the 3 clean sheets!

Tierney - don't think this is warranted, it is just the role he plays for Arsenal.  If he was playing in a back three, or had been instructed to play as a defensive full back, he wouldn't look to constantly get forward.  I don't think the tendency outweighs his level of discipline for playing a requested role, put another way.

Partey and Saliba - probably fair of Partey so I'll add that.  Not really seen enough of Saliba to determine whether this is something he would do in situations where he has been specifically instructed not to.  Similar to the above, this is just the system Arsenal generally play, to play the ball out of defence.

Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel - Gabriel already has this PPM, which was something inherited from his time in France, but I think it's fair enough to keep it as he does whack the occasional aimless ball out for a goal kick.  Not going to add it for Tomiyasu and White, don't think it is merited.

Lokonga - not seen enough of him to determine whether this is a natural tendency or just the role he was playing in the team at the time, where he would naturally collect the ball deep.

Jesus - don't agree with this.  His movement is good, so he will often find such space in the right moment, but I would say his play is more rounded than this to be something he is constantly looking to do.

Thanks for your response. I feel like you have fair enough explanations for all. I do think I'm right especially with Tomiyasu, White and Saliba and hope you see over time too.

I do also think your opinion in regards to Tierney can be said about anyone. Any non selfish disciplined player will play the role their manager tells them to play so everyone would pretty much naturally be trait less if you go with that opinion. I feel when KT is playing in his natural and arguably best position at left back as he has showed at Celtic and Arsenal he loves to get forward whenever possible.

Arsenal's central midfielders and their technical / offensive stats compared (FM23):

    image.png.c970f2cb65fa061dd459d404130b5466.png

Partey is apparently the least technical, has the worst first touch, he's the second worst dribbler, and has the second worst flair.

He's portrayed as an untechnical defensive player. I don't think this is accurate.

Dribbles attempted / minute vs dribble success

Partey has the best dribble success rate out of the players listed above and a comparable number of dribbles per minute to Odegaard. Elneny is clearly last, then Lokonga then Xhaka.

In fact, of all midfielders in Europe, he has one of the best dribble success rates (he is the yellow dot circled to the bottom right of the image):

Partey has a dedicated youtube video of him just dribbling for 8 minutes

There is a level of technique and control shown here that I have not seen in the other midfielders, other than Odegaard. It begins with four consecutive examples of him nutmegging a player. It's almost a year old, so missing his best form which has come this season.

Alvaro Romeo (the Spanish correspondent on the totally football show) had this to say about him when he signed for Arsenal (beginning 6m50s):

    Seems more accurate.

Normalising the stats to 20 here is the difference compared to FM23:

Was looking to do a breakdown on exactly this when i found the time. Do not think i would have broke it down as good as this though. Brilliant breakdown and facts and stats to go with it! Well done @code-t

Not to knock the Arsenal researcher because i think they have done a fairly good job in regards to the Arsenal team attributes. But surely the researcher would have watched Arsenal enough to see this themselves, Partey should have been given a boost in terms of technique, dribbling, flair, first touch and tackling attributes. Someone who also plays his way out of trouble as a preferred move too!

    Again though well done @code-t!

Rashfords flair at 19 compared to Zahas at 17 is laughable and should be swapped. Allan Saint Maximin at 19 flair and dribbling is fair as Messi is the bar at 20/20

Zaha should be 18 dribbling and flair

rashford should be at around 16/17 flair, 16 dribbling his isn’t a superb dribbling his really good in tight areas and good off playing one or two touches to be fair especially with his back to goal when his on the left and got a man behind him but is he really a player that should have 19 flair that’s same level as Saint Maximin one under Messi

@Pete Sottrel could i get you opinion on this please

Is Saka that strong? Or does he use his balance, agility and anticipation in combination with what strength he has to retain the ball under physical pressure and position his body in the best way to protect it which leads to him being able to fend off an opponent? Not always as simple as just "increase his strength!".

In my opinion yes his strength should be around 13/14 he’s a strong boy, in combination with everything else.

  8. I feel like the Arsenal players stats are pretty accurate by a few.

Firstly Thomas Partey is a better dribbler than given and also has more flair than given I would say both should be around 13 he does get arsenal up the pitch really well at times. I also feel like he plays his way out of trouble as a trait and can provide plenty plenty of videos as evidence if required.

Saka strength should be around 13,14 aswell as Jesus they’re both deceptively so strong and use their bodies so well to get the better of opponents often rolling them or players bouncing off of them.

Eddie Nketiah could do with a slight strength increase too. He has put on abit of size and is developing into more of a man now.

Kieran Tierneys pace in my opinion should be 15  and acceleration should be 16. He shifts and knocks the ball past his opponent really well and quickly then does slow down but that first knock he is away very quickly.

Lastly I would say Martin Odegaard could do with a leadership increase to at least 11, he is growing in that role and does often push on his teammates on the pitch and the players do look for him to make things happen often.
