I'd forgot the list of things that weren't there anymore or bugs - no, no you cannot

Why on earth would they remove a helpful feature like player conversation history....I suppose we will never know whether it was deliberately removed and associated "logic" or whether yet another unintented consequence of other "new features" that was totally overlooked.....v disappointed with FM21....Have played every version for over 20 years and this is first time ever that I have not completed one full season by Christmas in year of release....Still not started competitive match in long term save I have finally started...

  2. Only just started a long term save since winter update patch came out, despite having FM21 since beta release - decided to abandon initial save very early on due to the numerous bugs which I am hoping are largely fixed now.....

Is there any way to see history of your player conversations, quick chats etc like there used to be in FM20 etc? Cannot seem to find this very useful option anywhere....

  4. I gave up on my usual long term save after half a season and am desperately hoping that the next update addresses the numerous stats, in game analysis, youth intake, player rating issues raised in the bugs forum. Having the latest transfers etc comes second to having a more polished version of the game in my case to enable me to finally start and enjoy a long term save....

  5. The introduction/implementation of xG has given rise to numerous differences in FM21 between the stats in the Full Match Engine (FME) and Quick Match Engine( QME), including dribbling. These have been well flagged and I did some detailed testing that I shared in the bugs forum and have included here for your information.

I understand that FM definitions will not align exactly with their real world equivalents but they should be at least broadly in line for both the FME and QME. It is important that FME and QME give similar results so that scouting/search comparisons are not rendered useless. I ran a full season Premier League using Full Match Engine and again using the Quick Match Engine. I then extracted full season stats for each team and compared the FME results with the QME and 19/20 Premier League "equivalent" stats:

A few summary observations from the same FME Vs QME saves used above regarding player stats:

    image.jpeg.a8c66b67f1af973d813fef613c1a19b5.jpeg

The game is not broken and unplayable but for players who like the immersion and use stats when comparing/scouting players etc there are clearly issues that have surfaced in this years FM that render such comparisons/scouting useless. Hopefully these issues will be largely resolved in the next major update so that SI have a firm foundation from which to develop FM22.

Is this a recent policy change? In FM18 or 19 using the winter DB update I noticed there were a few injuries in the teams I chose that occurred IRL after September 1st

That’s what I thought... could be a much harder job managing Liverpool if revised database reflects their current 3 long term injuries..,,

I haven't been on this forum since release and I have massively enjoyed this game from start to finish. The immersion levels are immense. After returning to just check any posts regarding the winter update, I'm seeing a few mention bugs... I am sure they exist as they always will, but are they enough to really "huge" and spoil what is an excellent game?

Have a look at Bugs section Match Engine -AI and Tactics, say, and read through long thread on Key Tackles etc/Stats issues for instance and Youth Intake issue and decide if they spoil it for you.

  8. My usual long term save... Chelsea. I usually start a long term save when game released and did the same with FM21... unfortunately the numerous issues including key tackles, stats, youth intake etc etc resulted in me abandoning this shortly after last update... Hoping most of the issues raised in bugs forums are sorted in the next major update so that I can start and enjoy a long term save and SI have a firm base from which to develop FM22.... fingers crossed...

  9. Given the numerous stats issues reported in bugs forum, I have run a full season of Premier League on FME and QME. Over a full season there was a 67% success rate for penalties on FME with QME being 82%. 19/20 Season actual for Premier League was 83%.

FME success rate seems a bit low but far more significant differences between FME and QME, and real world, for Crosses, CCC, Key Tackles, Clearances etc.......

  10. A few summary observations from the same FME Vs QME saves used above regarding player stats:

    image.jpeg.db4127f6faf49da11a0b89167bce836a.jpeg

The above stats were only readily available for the top 20 players and not available within detailed team stats. With the exception of Distance/90 mins, I believe that all the other "red font" items have been well flagged in the bugs forum for SI. As with team stats, it is important that FME and QME give similar results so that scouting/search comparisons are not rendered useless.

  11. Several threads in the bugs forum have referred to large differences in various stats between the FME and QME. Although they are "Under Review" and will hopefully be addressed in the next major update, I thought that it might be useful to provide some comparative data to indicate scale of the differences.

I created a save with only two leagues loaded, La Liga in Spain and the Premier League in England with me set to manage Barcelona and went on holiday for the full 20/21 season. For one save I set the Premier League detail to "All Competitive Matches" = FME and for another save using the same base file I left the Premier League detail at "None" = QME, the default, as I was managing in La Liga.

I then extracted full season stats for each team and compared the FME results with the QME and 19/20 Premier League "equivalent" stats.

I understand that FM definitions will not align exactly with their real world equivalents but they should be at least broadly in line for both the FME and QME. It is important that FME and QME give similar results so that scouting/search comparisons are not rendered useless.

Summary data and observations are as follows:
    image.jpeg.f7ef732546b6983ff004b1b979e28b0f.jpeg

PKM files for my FME and QME saves on which the above data is based are available if required but I am sure SI can replicate the above readily.

  12. Given the numerous stats issues reported in bugs forum, I have run a full season of Premier League on FME and QME. Over a full season there was a 67% success rate for penalties on FME with QME being 82%. 19/20 Season actual for Premier League was 83%.

Quick Match  engine & non-playable leagues need to be adjusted to have ratings that are more in the range of full detail matches...

I agree with this but I believe that FME V QME issue is about more than just average ratings. The problem is that the FME game stats and ratings from the games your team plays in are totally out of line with the QME stats/ratings of players outside of the league that you are playing in. This renders using stats/ratings useless for scouting/comparative purposes.

FM provides "unrivalled simulation gaming" enabling you to "experience the closest thing there is to being a real football manager". As part of this you would expect the stats produced by the FME to be be sensible versus their real life equivalent. Furthermore you would expect the stats from the QME to be reasonably consistent with those of the FME (albeit they are generated differently) and hence their real world equivalent. Hoping that this is addressed with the forthcoming major patch that is anticipated to accompany the transfer window database update.

Hi guys how is everyone not been on the forums here much in years back around 2012 i think was when i was last consistently around. i have not been doing cfc saves much over the years since i been looking for more of a challenge but im back and about to start a cfc save any tips for this year?

Welcome back. Main tip I would offer is to wait until the next major patch is released before starting a long term save - hopefully it will finally fix most of the bugs that have been raised in the Match Engine AI & Tactics forum, including statistics, youth intake etc......

My point was, and still is, that you CAN fully understand how good or bad a player is doing, you simply watch the games. I've read that thread and the answer isn't that the game isn't registrating key tackles f.ex, its just that it defines a key tackle as a tackle that stops a clear cut chance. I agree there should be stats about "normal" key tackles as well, the ones stopping smaller chances (<0,3xG) is a stat I wanna see. But I dont agree that it ruins the game, the workaround in this case is watching your matches, comprehensive highlights works perfectly for me.

The introduction of xG and the changing of stats definitions has clearly impacted this years FM. I agree that watching a game on comprehensive highlights, as I do, helps you understand how good or bad a player is doing. The problem is that the game stats and ratings from the games your team plays in are totally out of line with the stats/ratings of players outside of the league that you are playing in. This renders using stats/ratings useless for scouting purposes. Unfortunately, lots of the "basics" seem to have suffered in this years FM with regard to stats and the relative consistency of them. After 22 games in the first season of my currently paused long term save Salah tops the Premier League (Full Match Engine) for crosses attempted with 350.....nearly 16 per game...The 20th highest player in Premier league has attempted 172 crosses. In Leagues with the Quick Match Engine the number of Crosses Attempted is far lower. In Spain 215 for highest and 67 for 20th highest, In Italy 174 highest and 77 for 20th highest, in Sky Bet Championship 124 hot highest and 85 for 20th highest. Obviously tactics will differ but this is yet another example of bigger stats discrepancies in FM21 versus previous versions.

I use custom views of stats to look at my players performance and like to look at the "/90", per 90 minute, stats when comparing players. Unfortunately in FM21 the "/90" calculation is broken with "-" being displayed.....

My annual long term save is currently on hold and i am patiently waiting for extensive successful fixes to the numerous issues raised, and under review, in the bugs forum, with the transfer update database as I doubt that there will be any more hotfixes before this....Fingers crossed for lots of successful fixes...I am really hoping that this is not the first FM in over 20 years where I do not manage to complete a full season......

  16. Apologies if this has already been raised but the number of Crosses Attempted seems incredibly high in FME versus QME.

Just checked my paused save, after 22 matches in Premier League.

Salah tops Crosses attempted with 350.......The 20th highest is Allan Saint Maximim with 172

Looking at the stats in a few leagues in my save that use QME for crosses Attempted:

    Spain 215 Highest, 67 for 20th highest

    Italy  174 Highest, 77 for 20th highest

Sky Bet Championship 124 Highest, 85 20th highest.

Cross attempts in FME seem way...way too high.

Until sensible stats in FME and FME/QME more closely aligned it is a total waste of time using "stats" to scout players.........

  17. Please can someone from SI advise whether this issue will be addressed in next game update. This issue can be replicated by adding the various "/90" stats to your custom view - if I have to upload save game to register the issue please advise......

Check the other stats...dribbles, clear cut chances for example. And compare these stats to other leagues. There is a real issue with stats reported in leagues that include a human player.

All the /90 (per 90 mins) stats show as -. So many stats related issues need fixing.......I've given up my long term serve 24 games in...not played since just after last hotfix....Wonder if this will be first version of FM in over 20 years where I dont finish a season...The reviews are glowing and people who write them cannot have looked at the game in any level of detail as they would have encountered the issues in bugs forums...

I agree with this, QME tends to get much higher match ratings. Especially seen in my game where my u18s and u23s are all averaging great ratings using the same tactic as my main team.

Agreed. I don't not remember differences like this in previous versions and wonder if the QME is basically same as usual with changes being implemented in ME and FME only. Given FM is a stats based game this needs sorting....along with lots of other issues like Key tackles effectively disappearing in FME due to changes in stats definition following introduction of xG.....
