  1. November 2035 We lose our first game in the league and are once more out of the cup early, but we're safely through to the Champions League knockouts. National Team More friendlies, more wins.
  2. October 2035 We hit top spot in the league, and despite the loss to United we look good in the Champions League group. National Team More wins in friendlies.
  3. September 2035 The strong start continues, especially the win over Monaco. National Team Two easy wins, and our own Joao Santos now has more goals than caps at this stage.
  4. August 2035 Our strikers are firing early, scoring 13 of our 15 goals so far. A ridiculously tough group, but I think we can manage 2nd over Monaco. Porto get a silly draw and can probably only hope for 3rd place. National Team Forgot to mention this, but we've defended our Nations League title, defeating world champs Germany in the final. We won't be playing any competitive games until the Euros, which Portugal are hosting.
  5. 2035 Preseason No, we didn't really spend 52m on a player. I just bet heavily against the future success of the club by paying Angers 40m over the course of the next 3 years. We're at the stage of the save where we need to win now and rely on the academy to produce suitable backups. Right Wing Back Central Midfielder A short preseason, and we lose the Super Cup but I don't really care too much about that. Still predicted 4th, but I think we can win it again.
  6. We finish the league on a negative note, but we're champions Liverpool also proved too good, but a red card in the first leg definitely hurt us. Best XI Gastón Sánchez - Francisco Javier - Iván Ortiz We've crossed that "80" threshold Record Breakers Award Winners Progress \
  7. Yes, I don't think we're too far away, but I think we need to change our recruitment policy from depth to strengthening the first team if we are to make that final step. Our facilities are at that stage now where we are producing players good enough to contribute from within anyway.
  8. April 2035 We're so close to a maiden Portuguese league title we can taste it. 3 games left, 7 points ahead. Unless something goes horribly wrong, it's ours. We scrape past Sociedad on penalties, and we have a semi final date with Liverpool. We did beat them in the round of 16 last season, but the pressure of the occasion might be too much this time around.
  9. March 2035 A win and a loss in the league, but we can still extend the lead to 10 points. After edging past Inter, we get a fairly favourable draw in Sociedad. I say favourable because we avoided Chelsea, Real Madrid and Liverpool. We have the best wonderkid in the world National Team Two easy wins, and the best wonderkid in the world made his Portugal debut this window, and scored a couple
  10. 2035 Youth Intake Jorge Sá 14A* - Ivo Duarte 14B - André Silva 14C A strong intake, with the 6th best player considered promising, indicating that the 5 above them could be too.
  11. February 2035 After a slow start we pick things up, and the lead can blow out to 10 points after Benfica's capitulation. We also travel to Milan with one foot in the last 8 of the Champions League, equalising our best ever finish.
  12. January 2035 We've pulled ahead and now have a 6 point lead Transfers (Out) After 124 games and 64 goals, Carlos Garcia leaves us and we make a nice profit on him.
  13. December 2034 We end the year joint top with Benfica, and at present it looks to be a two horse race. We also scrape into the Champions League knockouts! Inter is definitely not the worst team for us to play, even if they haven't finished below 3rd the entire save. It'll be interesting to see how good these guys will be.
  14. November 2034 We lose our first game in the league, funnily enough by the same scoreline we lose to PSG. National Team We win the group, and we are yet to miss a EuroLeague semi final under my tenure.
  15. October 2034 We beat Benfica which is awesome for our league aspirations, but our cup defence falls early with a loss to a non-league side. Haaland continues to be a pain wherever I go as he bangs in a hattrick for PSG, but we're currently 2nd in the league. National Team Two great results, and a semi final spot beckons.
  16. September 2034 Gaston Sanchez was in an absolute mood this month, with 8 goals including a hattrick against Leicester which sends a strong message in the competition early on. National Team A good start to the group, but the big matches against Italy loom.
  17. August 2034 It's been a perfect start to the league, and we're safely through to the Champions League groups again. None of these groups are easy, but we should be a clear 3rd at least. Porto and Benfica both get terrible draws, as the Europa League knockouts become a very real possibility.
  18. 2034 Preseason We spent a lot of money on players unlikely to feature for us on a regular basis at this stage, but at least we made a decent profit on Manuel Jesus Ruiz. Central Midfielder A very depleted side lost to Konyaspor after our Super Cup loss to Benfica, but we stormed back to destroy them at home, which is very encouraging. Edging ever closer to the top 3.
  19. 2034 World Cup Warm Up Matches A baffling loss to Ecuador, but then we absolutely smash Venezuela to head into the group games with some optimism. Group Stage We are less than convincing in the group stage, but we get through unscathed. No real upsets here, except maybe Australia knocking Colombia out. Saudi Arabia top their group in a surprising performance, but that's the only notable result here. Bosnia top a group that pretty much every team would want to play against in the knockouts. Mexico joins Colombia as the biggest eliminations in the group stage. Second Round We dominate Ukraine, but only have 1 goal to show for it. In other notable results, Denmark knock out hosts Japan, France bow out to Ireland and Romania beat Uruguay. Third Round We've hit our pre tournament target of reaching the last 8, but we were made to work harder than we should against the United States. We next play Brazil, who needed extra time to beat Chile. No real upsets here, but Belgium and Italy are out. Quarter Finals We finally discover how to score again, but needed extra time to beat Brazil in the game of the tournament so far. We now play Spain for a spot in the World Cup final. Semi Finals An 89th minute penalty knocks us out, while Germany flog Argentina. Third Place Playoff A loss to the defending champions, but 4th is still nice. Final Germany never looked like losing this tournament, running the gauntlet of Italy, England, Argentina and then Spain pretty comfortably. Two hattricks ensure that Goncalo Ramos wins Golden Boot, Best Player and a spot in the Dream Team in what will more than likely be his final international tournament. I may consider raising the max age to 35 though, but we'll see.
  20. Successful end to the season, and our first piece of silverware in Portugal with winning the cup! Best XI Iván Ortiz - Gastón Sánchez - William Felipe Record Breakers Award Winners Progress
  21. 2034 World Cup Squad Goalkeepers Central Defenders Wing Backs Defensive Midfielders Central Midfielders Strikers It's a squad that has the same average age as the World Cup, influenced as such because I refuse to pick anyone 34 and over to try and simulate some realism that FM may have gotten wrong based on my experience with France, where everyone in the squad was pretty much over 33. Experience wise we are below average in terms of caps, but I believe we have the ability to at least reach the quarter finals as we usher in the new generation of talent. Proposed Best XI It's a damn strong XI, and the ages are ideal. Special mention to LWB Traore, who has been in the senior setup since he was 18. Who Produced the Players? Portugal (21): Benfica (7), Sporting CP (4), Porto (3), Vitória de Guimarães (2), Boavista (1), Braga (1), Famalicão (1), Feirense (1), Paços de Ferreira (1). Brazil (2): Fluminense (1), Santos (1).
  22. April 2034 Champions League qualifying secured, and although we lost to Real Madrid in the quarter finals we did really well, and the money we're getting from it is going to fuel our transfer efforts next season.
  23. March 2034 With 6 games to go we still have a sizeable lead over Sporting, but could have been easier if we didn't lose those two games. We did the unthinkable and held on to beat Liverpool, and now we have an even tougher task in Real Madrid. National Team Easy friendly wins.
  24. 2034 Youth Intake Borys Kukuruza 13A* - Lucas André 13B* - Ângelo Elias 13C* Not as strong as a couple of previous intakes, but we still get a promising player in there.
  25. February 2034 Amazing month. We draw to Benfica, hold a lead over Liverpool and open up a 6 point gap to Sporting.
