Have seen a few reports of this, can we just check if it improves at all after removing your cache file?

It wasn't just FM 22, it was 21 and 20 and I think 19 too? There's been some really bad match engines over the years but these 3 have been the least enjoyable editions of the game I have played for a very long time and I've been playing since CM 01/02.

It's not just the iw/if role in general, it's crossing. Even wingers will avoid an.amazing opportunity to cross a ball and stop dead on the bi line and pass it back.

I actually liked the match engine in the BETA and going forward but the same old boring bugs seem to show their heads again. Since about December, I am about 4 seasons in and I just do not understand how this issue can be a thing FIVE years into the development cycle. The longer the save goes on the less my desire is to load up my save and continue.

You WILL lose customers over this.

To be honest the IF and W were good in FM 21

In FM 22 the IF were pure trash, and in FM 23 its slightly better but still..

This post and the older one have multiple examples and PKM's, but i have zero faith

And to be clear, your FM23 issue isn't fixed by doing as shown below?

    - Go into Steam and right-click on the game
    - Select 'Properties'
    - Click 'Set Launch Options...'
    - Copy the following into the dialogue box: --disable_flip_discard
    - Close the panel by clicking the 'x' button and launch the game

I managed to fixed mine but i did a lot of work for it, by the way FM 22 was 100 % smooth.

    What i did :

    --disable_flip_discard

    - Turned aboard black with aboard patch from 22

    - Nvidia control panel : Threaded Optimization - On
    Triple Buffering - Off
    Vertical Sync - Off
Power Management Mode - Prefer Maximum Performance

But still i get some flickering of the image in the 3D but its like 4-5 times in the whole match.

I’ve been reading through this and just wanted to offer my experiences as of lag since fm 20. For me this year I’m more puzzled than ever. I’ve been watching games just looking at where the lag is and how it happens but it’s impossible. I’ll play a highlight that’s end to end lots of camera movement at one instance it will jump a few times, then the same action on a separate highlight smooth as anything. Some shots will create lag some don’t, no pattern. The biggest myth to me is how can a built in 60 fps cap not set smooth gameplay. There are deeper lying issues than ad boards. I have given up and until the match engine is upgraded it’s had its day. I’ll just hop onto GTA 5 that incredibly graphically demanding game with no lag…

    Agree

Its not just the ad boards, dont get me wrong its causing lags but its not the only thing that causing it

    Dear Michael Sant

In fact, this problem doesn't require pkm at all.
Because you see it every game.

All inside forwards or inverted wingers always go up to the end line like a winger and cross or back pass.

Especially despite being able to dribble and get inside.

Please watch carefully even for a game.

This problem has been going on since fm22.

It absolutely needs to be fixed.

I'm a little bit pessimistic here because last year they said its under review just like this year and nothing happened

We provided here and in the other topic multiple examples

Its so screaming to fix this, because jsut in real life player like Vinicius will not go that much and 99 % of the time to wide areas, he will cut inside to his stronger foot just in real life

Was unsure of posting this but figured it should be said, as this has worked for me.

Search Google for the ad boards patch for FM22 (Might be found on a non uk site as efforts have been made to stop this). Follow the installation instructions but DO NOT install the files that go in the game/data folder.

You will get blacked out adboards. You will not have anymore lag due to adboards.

Sorry SI. I understand you do not want to hear this, but for those of us who suffer awful lag due to the adboards - needs must.

Of course SI, if you could work out why some of us experience terrible lag when video adboards are used, that would be ideal.

I have tried everything to stop the lag on 2d (I only play 2d anyway so unsure of what’s happening in 3d). Lowered graphics settings (you can put them back up to your system recommended btw after installing this patch), removed crowd, tweaked every NVidia setting going. Only thing that helped (me) was this adboard patch.

    Hope it works for others.

    I'm confused

Can you tell me what exactly to do?

And also - you need to delete any files from the original ads in the data folder?

The match engine team are constantly working on improvements in all areas and so it is hardly a case of ignoring any issue. When its an issue which impacts your playstyle, naturally it is going to become more of a focus and feature greater levels of presentation in your save. Changes in ME behaviour have to be tested and there are many instances of intended changes and fixes which just haven't worked out because they create issues elsewhere within the ME that are more jarring or even worse than the original issue.

I'm not looking to make light of any individuals contribution to the thread, but even in the instances we are getting pkm's we're only seeing once or twice per game mentions. Are there other examples where the player exhibits the wrong behaviour but it works out to the players benefit and they don't report that? It's possible. Are there other examples happening in these same games which perhaps people haven't noticed? Also possible. Is it the case that players are getting presented with multiple opportunities to do this and just once or twice a game they make the wrong decision?

These are examples of some of the possibilities, and for narrowing down something like this its very tricky so the more pkm's the better. If you're finding a match where one player is doing it correctly, but another player always makes the wrong decision information like that can be useful to assess whether its attributes feeding into the erroneous decisions and so on.

In this topic and on this topic -

    There are multiple examples
