I'm gonna be moving on from my beloved squad in FM20 and was planning on manually recreating ~30 odd players in the pre-game editor in FM23 or FM24, matching all of their attributes etc.

Are there any methods of streamlining this or am I pretty much just stuck doing it 100% manually? I was thinking on how there are websites that can analyze player attributes if you export a certain view to them, so I was wondering if there was anything similar out there that could help generate an .fmf file I can import. Or am I gonna have to be the one to code that? lol

You would probably have to create such a program yourself or hire someone to do it. As far as I know, exporting data from the game is prohibited due to licensing issues, at least that is for programs such as genie scout where I once tired to export player abilities and use them in PES 2013 using a editor to convert the spreadsheet information to PES values but was unable to export them.

  2. How can I add a competition under the teams field in FIFA World Cup so that the World Cup uses teams which advance from the qualification. I can only add a continent using the editor, not a competition, as such the teams added are not the same as qualified. I think I need to change some comp editor file using the Football Manager 2023 Resource Archiver, but which file and which line?

I wish to create an original 64 team World Cup that uses the following number of teams qualified from original qualifiers I have created:

Europe (5 groups) 55 teams, 32 teams qualify.

South America (1 league) 10 teams, 8 teams qualify.

North America (5 groups) 35 teams, 5 teams qualify.

Africa (6 groups) 54 teams, 9 teams qualify.

Asia (5 groups) 45 teams, 9 teams qualify.

Oceania (1 league) 11 teams, 1 teams qualify.

    Here is the file:

    Enzu World Cup.fmf

  3. In football manager you should have the option to add a new nation using the pre-game editor.

I edited the comp editor file using the resource archiver and changed the information of Upper Volta, such as the continent and language. I also added custom international rules for the world cup qualification and tournament. As the nation did not have any previous players or a language, as soon as I added the Estonian language to the nation, the newgens appeared with Estonian names. This does not happen while editing other nations that have a previously set language. If the feature is added to the editor, it would in my opinion make editing even more fun.

  4. As the real world feature is now introduced to the game and future transfers are thus arranged, it would be a good feature to have in filters to hide players who will be leaving the team on transfer arranged as it would mean you can then focus building the team around players who will be staying in the team.

Would be good to have the U21 and U18 search option for all staff that can be assigned to those teams

Under staff search there is a button called (Include V). Click on it. Uncheck the teams you do not wish to sign staff for. Then you can select interested staff for the specific teams.

  6. Rather than speak with the agent, wouldn't the option of better explaining to the player why the contract talks broke down be an even better option? I am not that far in my save in FM24 save and do not have to worry about any contracts this season with my club, but if I remember correctly: there was no option in FM23 where you can talk with the player why the contract talks broke down.

If FM would add more interactions concerning player contracts with the player, then at least based on the real life scenario: the player would either tell the agent to not set such non-negotiable terms next time or would sack the agent.

Although, speaking with the agent during contract talks and convincing them to remove the non-negotiable status from the clause is also a very good idea.

  7. Over time the national team manager receives reports of players who the media or supporters think deserves a call up to the national team. Currently there is no place other than the reports where the player appears. I suggest that under national pool there should be a feature where all players who the media or fans think deserves a call up to the national team are displayed, which will exclude the current national team players in the senior squad. That way the manager has an easier time in choosing the players for the national team and in theory it should keep the media and fans happy.

  8. Someone recently simulated 1000 years in FM2023, I watched it sometime on youtube. English premier league was somewhere in the 23 place in league rankings and Bulgaria or something had the top spot, dominating in European competitions and World Cup. In terms of price money Premier league still had high wages and 140 000 stadiums, while Bulgaria had quite low wages and 30 000 stadiums.

New FM should certainly fix it to make it more realistic. Although in the experiment the youtube video had only a single nation loaded.

  9. It would make the game more interesting if you can add multiple training routines to the same session and set the time for how long a routine lasts.

If a session could include a full match, then a training session is 90 minutes long. Session 1, Session 2 and Extra Session are together 270 minutes long. From what I have read professional teams sometimes train around 30 hours a week, which is over 4 hours a day on average.

Adding multiple routines to a session works like this:

Currently you have 3 session slots a day to add training routines in, a session likely lasts 90 minutes. I propose that only 1 big slot remains where you can then drag a training routine into, the training routine if added will automatically be 90 minutes long or as long as the remaining time you have available. You can then double click to edit the length of the routine and change the length from between 5 to 90 minutes. If the session is left empty it will automatically be set as rest. If you set the first routine length as 85 minutes, you can add an additional of 185 minutes worth of training routines, if you then add two 90 minute routines, you are left with 5 minutes of rest.

The reason for my suggestion is that I have attended Semi-Professional club reserve team training sessions and the training sessions sometimes include 15 minute dribbling training and 45 minutes playing games, or 10 minute run, 5 minute keeping the ball and 45 minutes games. The reserve team could be considered as amateur and has one session a day two times a week lasting for 1 hour but during the session there is variety in training. If more routines could be added to a training session then it would make creating training schedules more interesting and it will add a smaller increase to more attributes as more training routines are included. That will in particular apply for Physical training as rarely those training routines last a whole session for lower league teams, and if you do not add any physical session to the schedule in Football Manager usually no improvement in physical attributes takes place.

While seeing that some people may decide to add the maximum 54 training routines a day this way, all lasting 5 minutes. There may be a limit on how many training routines you can add for a single day, with my recommendation being 8-10. Also, some training routines should have a minimum length such as match practice can not be less than 15 minutes if added.

  10. It would be good if either when setting up a new manager or when changing staff responsibilities you can set the responsibilities to be either permanent or temporary for the staff role. For example if you delegate team training as permanent to assistant manager, then as soon as you hire an assistant manager the responsibility will automatically go to the assistant manager. Currently when setting up manager responsibilities while adding a new manager you can not select who to delegate the responsibility to and it will only be temporary. If you fire the staff member responsible for the task, the responsibility will return back to the manager.

  11. It would be great if in the pre-game editor you can edit the reserve and youth team substitution rules. Currently all youth teams of added leagues have substitution rules of 3 from 5. It would be good if you can change the substitution rules with the editor for U19 teams to 12 from 12 or at least 5 from 9 as that would mean more players get game time and you get a better overview of their abilities.

If anything being able to enter the game as a coach or scout or physio would open up a lot of interesting new ways to play the game.  I've always liked the idea of playing as a scout, finding the best new kids around the world and presenting them to your manager for them to decide if your discovery is good enough to get a place on the team.

Physio does not have to do anything at all. If you wish to play as a scout you should be required to watch every game the player plays in order to get full scouting knowledge about the player, if you are a regular scout and do not have the ability to assign tasks, you have to follow the head scout or managers orders which nations to scout. Also, if you as a scout are inactive, the manager should have the option to sack you whenever he wishes.

You are looking at it in a realistic sense, that FM is trying to predict the growth of a footballer based on factors available in real life. But this is not real life. My FM manager doesn't exist in real life, and as an extension, any player's development under my in-game manager should not attempt to EXACTLY follow real-life.

The game purpose is to simulate real life as much as possible. Just because you wish to turn a Lower league player into a Premier League squad player does not mean that the feature should be added to the game. Dynamic potential ability would make many problems to the game and make the game more unrealistic. If you wish to take a Lower league player and make it a top division player, simply edit the potential ability with either the in-game editor or with Genie scout editor.

  14. It does not make any sense at all to only have 11 preferred formations to choose from for AI managers. There should be an option to add all common formations (except asymmetric formations) to a manager or team profile. For example 4-1-2-3 Wide should have the variations such as (1 DM - 2 AM) or (1 MC - 2 AM) or with ML/MR instead of AML/AMR. Even better would be if on ORDB you can edit the managers preferred formations, while in game it will only show the formation.

  15. In lower leagues (for example Estonia) many players have positions partially known as part of squad rules. As such sometimes some players with position partially known will be assigned positions that do not appear in team tactics such as Right Wing Backs (WBR) or Right Midfielder (MR) when the team either plays with three Central Defenders (DC) or with a Right Winger (AMR). I suggest players that have position partially known be assigned random positions from preferred team tactics if they are listed on the club profile, depending on how many positions there are in the tactic the higher the probability of the position appearing.

    As such:

    4-4-2 produce = Defenders (DC (50%), DR (25%), DL (25%)), Midfielders (MC (50%), MR (25%), ML (25%)), Forwards (ST (100%)).

    4-1-2-3 DM Wide produce = Defenders (DC (50%), DR (25%), DL (25%)), Midfielders (DM (33%), MC (66%)), Forwards (AML (33%), AMR (33%), ST (33%))

  16. Only youth team manager may be a possible role SI may add to the game, as the game is a "manager". If you wish to perform other roles, then delegate your responsibilities to other staff so you do not need to do those tasks. Even playing games (team selection) can be delegated and you can take control of the youth team (not hire youth manager, take youth team training, make team selections).

  17. It would be realistic if in addition to Division scouting packages (Own Division, Division Above and Below) the club can also add regional division scouting packages. The regional divisions will not be available if scouting package is Nation or above as that means the regional divisions are already included in the package.

For example Real Madrid has the following regional divisions:

    Spanish Federation First Division A

    Spanish Federation Second Group 5

    Spanish Federation Third Group 7

    Spanish Preferente Madrid Gr. 1

It would make sense that the club should have the scouting knowledge in the following regions.

As there are 4 regional divisions for Real Madrid, there should be 4 regional scouting packages to choose from.

Regional Level 1 would include only Spanish Federation First Division A.

    ...

Regional Level 4 would include Spanish Federation First Division A to Spanish Preferente Madrid Gr. 1.

  18. I set team training/rest levels: 1. No Training 2. No Training 3. Half Training 4. Normal 5. Normal. If condition is less than half, then no training.

Despite that, fatigue still does affect the players in Spanish leagues where there is at least 1 game a week (frequently 2 games a week).

You are right, when player becomes tired, he will in real life run less.

  19. It would be good if when creating a recruitment focus, under the further details you can add Consistency and Important Matches so that scouts find players that are either Fairly Consistent, Consistent or Very Consistent. The same goes for search where you could add it under General and it would show when the player is scouted.

You can add consistency and important matches when in-game editor is activated but then it shows the exact numerical value. My idea is to show an estimate in words.

  20. How will it be achieved?

You will have to create multiple databases for that due to different player attribute progression (more correct attributes). A 21 year old player in 2003 may be a Right Fullback with 15 work rate and 12 pace, while the same player in 2005 may be a Right Winger with 11 work rate and 15 pace. New clubs will be added to the databases according to seasons, with league rules for a single season.

If only used a single database, the player attributes will have to be the attributes the player is first introduced to the database lets say 90 CA and 160 PA, when years advance the attributes will be adjusted according to the CA, meaning you will use multiple CA values for different years. Few new clubs will be added (will use same clubs with name change), league rules will be changed each season.

The retro football manager would be interesting, but it will be very difficult to achieve. I wouldn't mind starting a 2005 season with Real Madrid or playing with Netherlands in Cruyff era.

It's still outside of what a Manager would do in real life.

and starting to give the manager more stuff to do outside his normal range of work is to set a landslide in motion - as suddenly he "should" be able to set prices on burgers etc - and it's would turn into a theme park game.

i'm not saying that i'm not seeing your idea, i'm just saying that it would move Football Manager in a wrong direction and away from what it's truely about

This is ofc my opinion. :)

OK. The only reason I suggested it in the fist place is that some Chairmen will never accept any manager requests, even if the club has money.
