  1. I agree, and there really should be alternatives. Many will want to wallow in it, and there's plenty of places for them to do that, but you should be able to escape it, and Nick Witchell
  2. I was on holiday I remember the midweek stuff was off, because there was literally nothing to do in the resort
  3. I think everything was off for a week iirc, the Sunday and the following weekend
  4. Must admit I understand the BBC have to show the news on every channel (that's not their choice to make) but all the sports channels and web pages is a bit over the top. I understand weekend postponements too, but again, it's a bit over the top, especially this year where fixtures are rammed in anyway
  5. The FA and EFL will feel they have to make a mark of respect. They were all off when Diana died as well
  6. I would think as the crickets off as a mark of respect, Saturdays football will almost certainly follow the trend
  7. Hope it goes as well as it can tomorrow I've played around a bit in this thread today, but tried to keep it in as good as taste as awful jokes can be, but when it was officially announced my mood changed. I think my view of death has changed, having buried 4 grandparents, both parents, my wife and one child, someone dying isn't funny or to be disrespected. She was 'our' Queen and a lot of royalists will be heartbroken, and while I don't feel that, I'm still deeply sorry for her family and friends, who will all miss her in their own way. RIP your majesty, reunited with Phillip
  8. They will probably play this on a loop interspersed with live news for 24 hours now
  9. I was possibly scoffing a double quarter pounder with cheese at the end. My own little tribute, RIP ma'am we'll never see your like again
  10. We were in Majorca when Diana was killed, and the holiday was ruined, cos everything shut for the week
