Tried most of the top 4321 tactics, is it just me but can't get my AF to score goals, plenty from elsewhere but not him?

Is there any possession based tactics that work, or are they mostly quick short passing. We know how patient Man City are with slower passing possession but the ME doesn't seen to like that.

Been saying that for the last 4 versions of this game,ME has been a mess for a long time, once you get a dominant tactic, the rest us easy and boring.

Re starting a new save with Hibernian after playing a save with Aston Villa, what would you suggest as a good tactic for Hibs in the SPFL.

My AM is suggesting we play these young lads in a pre season friendly and they are not part of the 1st team squad, I'm just curious why he's doing this as we have 24 1st team players registered but I'll have a look at what you are suggesting. I've had a look and only my 1st team are ticked to play in either friendlies/games as I had thought, which makes it weird why he's suggesting players not in the squad for these games.

A friendly for 1st team squad, not for some young 16 yr olds from the U 18 squad . I have players valued in their millions who need match sharpness, young guys on £400 a week play their own pre season friendlies.

Pre season and my AS wants me to play three 16 years old in the next friendly game, erm I have a 1st team squad of 24 and these guys are only starting their careers and are nowhere near 1st team ready, why???

He does exactly what I do, if I leave my DOF to get players they're generally crap and I just end up withdrawing offer, far too many things in game you don't need to bother with and just delegate them to Am or a coach who can do it.

This is in the in game editor, he has a PA of 150 but in that save the coaches had him as a potential to be a good player with 2.5 stars, in my next save he's now seen as a future star player with a PA of 4.5 stars, same coaches each time. He's not a young 16 year old but an 18 year old who has played half a dozen 1st team games.

PA of 150, he had the same PA in the other save but only 2.5 stars, this time he has a full 4 star potential, how can there be such a discrepancy. This is one of numerous issues with the games over the past 4-5 years.

This is the standard of the game, I have a young 17yr old mid who has a PA of 150, in game my coaches have him at 2.5 star PA, start a new game and this time he has a potential of 4-5 stars.

Getting so fed up seeing loads of goals from corners.

He has a good rep with high stats for negotiation and buying players but insists on trying to buy the biggest load of crap for the youth and reserve teams, is this the norm in the game, not been on here in a while.

I tend to end up playing 451 with a DM and 2 CM but prefer 4231 as the attacking mid plays like a 2nd striker. I had success last year with a skew midfield of DM, CM and a AM.

Why does every tactic have either 2 DM's or VOL, there's literally none that have regular midfielders, is this the only way to beat the ME. My best midfielder is not a DM and in nearly all 4231 set up, there's no room for him, I shouldn't have to use the editor to add DM to be able to play him.

Hadn't heard about that, hence why I was confused when I tried to fine a player a day's wage because he got 5.8 in a game, cheers for clearing that up. So just a rollocking and dropped it is then.

What's the point of the code of conduct thing then?

What's happened to being able to fine player or give them a warning after a poor game, I skipped code of conduct and usually I can warn or fine players, now I can't, is it a known issue? Also when I enquire about players their wage demands are just absolutely ridiculous, hence why I use the in game editor, so much less hassle.

One thing that's been in game for a few years now is when playing a pre season friendly and you make a load of subs, the majority of the subs would rather have stayed on the bench instead of playing. I've never understood this mentality.

I get what you're saying but it's the style of football I like seeing, it just becomes too overpowering in the game. Remember FM12, 433 with 3 strikers, won everything but after 4-5 seasons you realise it's just a tactic that beats the match engine. I have tried other tactics, 451, 442, 424 but as soon as you add in high press and quick passing the ME can't cope. I'll probably drop down a few leagues to make it harder, or try a save with just youth players, that's quite fun. Just feel SI has taken their eye off the ball and concentrated too much on all the wee fancy extras instead of the ME.

Winning games easily, once you get a high press short passing 4231 system going the game becomes too simple. Still hitting the woodwork 5-6 times a game and goals from near post headers all too regular. Players still go in the huff too easily, young 20yr old RB on £2K PW moans because I changed his squad status from regular to squad player, erm the guy in front of you is a full international, a far superior experienced RB and on triple your wages, of course you're not a regular. Again this years game is fairly boring and winning most things all too easy, there's no real challenge in the game any more.

For those complaining about too many goals being scored, Man C v Spurs, Liverpool v Fulham, Bournemouth v Villa, Chelsea v Brighton and Luton V Arsenal, 29 goals in 5 games.

Someone asked earlier in the thread but it's not been answered, what has happened to the option to choose your own pic in the preferences, seems to have vanished.

As we wait for yet another update to fix the continuing problems in game, it's quite amazing that these bugs are still part and parcel of this game. Players interaction is still a mess with players falling out with you for the slightest thing and asking for extortionate wage demands. The latest massive bug bear is the amount of shots hitting the woodwork, I've just played a friendly where the ball hit the woodwork 14 times during the game, realistic I think not. Headed goals from corners are just too many, I can sometimes score 2-3 a game, it's really needs toned down, Please get the youth development attributes sorted, you try and develop youngsters only see them either showing zero improvement or even some of their attributes decreasing, what is the point, may as well keep buying players ready for 1st team instead of developing home grown.
