  1. Basford United: 2023/24 Season Review The challenge begins again as we opt for a club not far from where I live. I won't rest until we dominate Europe and have a stadium named after Lee Hendrie! Our first season sees us finish top of the Vanarama North after a season long battle with Chester and Kidderminster. Our finances were given a massive boost as we managed to navigate into the third round of the FA Cup before losing to Championship Bolton Wanderers. Player stats were pretty good as expected when winning the league. By far our best performer was our star striker as he topped the average ratings, goals and assists column. Youth intake was much needed as we were short in some areas, especially goalkeeper. We had an excellent prospect come through who will be straight into the first XI. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Survive in the Vanarama National Keep our best players happy and under contract Hope for another good cup run
  2. Otahuhu United AFC: 2033 OFC Champion's League Review The challenge is complete in New Zealand as we add the CL trophy to our NZ league title. The CL campaign was pretty straightforward until we met a fellow NZ team in the final. Depsite the game being played at home, we only just scraped a victory on penalties. Season history Now need to decide what next. I'm tempted to try with an English team as I miss the familiarity of domestic football compared to guessing whether a Vanuatu team has any decent threat @darren1983
  3. Otahuhu United AFC: 2032 Season Review A disappointing follow up season as we fail to reach the grand final despite crusing to our sub-division title. We now come back after pre-season and dive straight into the OFC Champion's League. The next update will be a Champion's League only update due to the timing of competitions. Player stats were very good and only dipped during a 3 game slump during the championship stage. Youth intake previewed with grade C across the board and it turned out to be spot on. Nothing to shout home about. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Win the Champion's League Win the Champion's League Win the Champion's League
  4. Otahuhu United AFC: 2031 Season Review League champions The domestic part of the challenge is complete as we top our sub-division in order to qualify for the championship stage. We then scrape into the Grand Final and beat the odds to win away to clinch the title. Weirdly we won't play OFC Champion's League football until the end of next season due to the way Oceania football is structured. We could be double league winners before even making our CL debut Player stats were decent as expected when you win the league. Youth intake was pretty decent as we bolstered our numbers after releasing a fair few youngsters from previous intakes. Nothing in terms of transfers Season history Aims for next season Win the league again Continue to improve our bank balance Convince two of our key players to sign extensions (they are both considering their options )
  5. Otahuhu United AFC: 2030 Season Review A very good first season in the top flight as we finish 4th in the main stage of the league in order to qualify for the championship stage. We then have a bad start but recover to finish 3rd just outside of the grand final positions and therefore the Champion's League. Player stats were pretty decent for our first venture in the NZ top flight. Our goal and assists records were broken mostly due to more games being played. Youth intake was very good thanks to our improved youth recruitment and junior coaching. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Improve on this season's position Avoid losing any key players Improve our bank balance
  6. Otahuhu United AFC: 2029 Season Review Promotion again! Four promotions in five years sees us reach the top flight. Turns out I was counting the championship group stage as a tier so I've been constantly thinking I'm a tier below where we actually were The title was clinched despite a loss and we celebrated in front of no fans and what looked liked some kind of distribution centre. Player stats were pleasing as we were consistently good throughout the season Youth intake was pretty terrible as we took on just two players, however, they are first team quality so will be blood straightaway. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Cope with top flight football Look to get back into a positive bank balance Commit key players to semi-pro contracts
  7. Otahuhu United AFC: 2028 Season Review Promotion! Albeit a very unconvincing promotion. A season that started really well but ended with us winning just 3 games from 13 including two scoring draws in the play-off finals (thank god for away goals). Player stats weren't that great as our end of season slump drastically changed the look of some average ratings. Youth intake saw a massive jump in quality due to our junior coaching now classed as excellent. A few of the recruits will go straight into the first XI for the new season. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Hope to adjust to a higher division Improve the facilities depending on bank balance Avoid losing any key players
  8. Otahuhu United AFC: 2027 Season Review A promising first season at the current level as we achieve a 4th place finish. We were actually in promotion contention until 3 games to go when we dropped vital points. Player stats were a real mixture as some players just struggled with any kind of consistency. Youth intake wasn't too bad. Nothing to shout home about. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Improve on 4th place Keep key players Remain with a positive bank balance
  9. Otahuhu United AFC: 2026 Season Review Back to back promotions as we head to the heights of tier four. We looked like we could throw our league lead away with around 6 games to go but we managed to climb out of a bad slump. Our packed crowd were wild during the trophy presentation... Player stats looked good before we hit a slump. One excellent point was that our best newgen was the league's topscorer. Youth intake was pretty poor despite the 5 stars across the board. Transfers out were mostly unhappy players that jumped ship. Season history Aims for next season Cope with tier four Keep all key players Bring in some prize money from a good cup run
  10. Otahuhu United AFC: 2025 Season Review After the disappointment/embarrassment of last season when we celebrated too early, we gained promotion by winning the regional play-off final. We also won the regional cup which helped our bank balance stay in the black. Player stats were good once again as expected from a promotion campaign. Youth intake was better this year as our junior coaching was improved by two levels. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Avoid relegation from the higher division Keep key players Maintain a positive bank balance
  11. Otahuhu United AFC: 2023/24 Season Review A fantastic season that saw us finish top of NRF Division One, however, whilst I was busy taking a screenshot of the trophy presentation, I'd failed to realise that promotion is only gained through a play-off with the other division at this level. We lost Players stats were pretty decent as we were pretty consistent in the league. Youth intake on paper looked amazing as it normally does in the first season. In reality it was pretty poor. Transfers. We only lost two players that were both unhappy. The constant contract offers to my amateur players is pretty annoying Season history Aims for next season Gain promotion Avoid losing any key players Keep a positive bank balance
  12. Back in the game! This time in New Zealand as I aim to clinch another unfashionable version of the Champions League (OFC). Otahuhu United start in the 6th tier of New Zealand. It looks like th biggest part of the challenge will be conquering New Zealand as the OFC Champions League is dominated by NZ.
  13. Found a New Zealand file that is 5 tiers but the bottom tier has no relegation. Could I load 4 tiers and go with a promoted team from tier 5?
  14. Yeah, I’m already looking at a New Zealand save
  15. Al-Nojoom FC: 2032/33 Season Review A season to remember as we won both the Saudi league and Champion's League to complete the challenge. We had a mediocre start to the league season before we managed to go on a long unbeaten streak and clinched the title with 3 games to go. Our Champion's League campaign didn't start well in the group stage as we lost our first game which put real pressure on us due to only the top team progressing. A repeat of our semi-final saw us beat Al-Hilal 5-1 in the first leg to set-up a final with Korean side Jeonbuk. We clinched the cup with a 4-1 aggregate score. Player stats were really good which was no surprise due to the season achievements. Youth intake was very promising as we had some useful players come through. The highlight being a beauty of a Defensive midfielder. Transfers I've now got the dilemma of carrying on the save or giving a normal save a go. I miss signing players
  16. Al-Nojoom FC: 2031/32 Season Review A fourth place finish for the second season running as we start to look like the Arsenal of Saudi Arabia. Our first Champions League campaign saw us go all the way to the semi-finals where we lost to fellow Saudi team and eventual winners, Al-Hilal. It started to look like we were going to win the CL before the league Players stats were really good as we set a new record for ratings, goals and assists. Our youth intake wasn't too bad as took on a fair few recruits. Transfers. We lose two key players on free transfers as our keeper goes to Dortmund and defence midfielder goes to a division rival (will show in next season's transfer info). In other news we had a board takeover so our debt has been cleared. The board have also arranged to increase the stadium capacity from 1,900 to 3,300. Season history Aims for next season Improve on our fourth place finishes Go a stage further in the Champions League Stop losing players on bosmans!
  17. Al-Nojoom FC: 2030/31 Season Review Our best season to date as we finish in the dizzy heights of 4th place. We now go into next season with our first ever taste of Champions League football to look forward to. We spent the majority of the season in good form and thinking that the form can't last too long but it just kept going and going. Points wise, we only finished 5 points behind the league champions. Player stats were our best collection so far as we performed well for pretty much the whole season. Youth intake was probably our worst yet as only 4 recruits made the grade. Transfers. Our biggest issue is that our finances mean we can't offer competitive wages and our best players all want to move to bigger clubs. A couple more key players have gone on a bosman again. Season history Aims for next season Continue to perform to a top 4 standard Perform well in the Champions League Avoid losing any further players on bosmans.
  18. Al-Nojoom FC: 2029/30 Season Review A mixed season as we managed to match our best finish of 10th place, however, frustration also filled the season as a mid-season slump saw us take just 1 point from 8 games. Without the slump our season could've been so much better. Player stats were damaged badly by the mid-season slump. Youth intake was decent as a few prospects came through. Annoyingly we are still having some youth players poached. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Achieve a finish of 10th or better Reduce the club debt by shifting out deadwood Avoid long term slumps
  19. Al-Nojoom FC: 2028/29 Season Review A pretty encouraging season as we achieved our highest placed league finish to date with a 10th place finish. Our cup form continues to be terrible as we are yet to get anywhere near a Q-F. Players stats were better than last season as the majority showed better consistency. Youth intake was pretty decent as we took on a fair few. Transfers. Bad news on this front as we lose two key players on bosmans and two more to retirement. Season history Aims for next season Build on our 10th place finish Avoid losing any further key players Improve the financials
  20. Al-Nojoom FC: 2027/28 Season Review Survival! We managed to avoid relegation and becominga yo-yo club as we achieved a 13th place finish. Player stats weren't great as we struggled against stronger teams. Youth intake was pretty decent again as we took on the majority in order to boost numbers. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Hope to survive a second season in the top flight. Improve the finances. Avoid losing key players that have expiring contracts.
  21. Al-Nojoom FC: 2026/27 Season Review Back in the game A good start to the season ensures that I kept my job and the good times kept rolling as we clinched the title and promotion back to the Saudi top flight. Player stats were a massive improvement compared against the mess of last season. A few newgens are now an integral part of the first XI. Youth intake was quite pleasing as we have a number of potentials coming through. Transfers. Annoyingly, the board made the decision to sell one of my top prospects. Admittedly, this has helped improve our infrastructure once again. Season history Aims for next season Hope to survive in the top flight Settle into the new stadium Look to improve the infrastructure with the funds left.
  22. Al-Nojoom FC: 2025/26 Season Review Worst. Season. Ever. Our worst fears came true as we finished rock bottom of the Saudi top flight. We just couldn't cope with the step up in quality and the board were on the brink of sacking me after the last game of the season. They have set me a target of 8 points from 6 games, luckily, this will fall in the new season against lower quality opposition. Player stats were pretty terrible as you can imagine. All that orange! Youth intake was the only plus point of the season as we had a fair number of good prospects come through. This English winger being the highlight. Transfers. We lost two hot prospects as they were near the end of their youth contracts when the big boys came swooping. In other news, our chairman has declared that the blank cheques have run out so I'm on my own! Season history Aims for next season Try and keep my job! Aim for instant promotion Look to improve the infrastructure with the funds left.
  23. Al-Nojoom FC: 2024/25 Season Review Back to back promotions as we over-achieved massively to clinch a place in the top flight. I am very worried that we've go to the top tier far too quickly and we will be totally outclassed. Player stats were pleasing once again. Youth intake was better this time around as we took on almost evert new recruit. Transfers In other news, we've got a new stadium being built. The fact the chairman is writing blank cheques has helped improve our infrastructure at a breakneck speed. Season history Aims for next season Avoid being embarrassed in the top flight. Improve our infrastructure as much as possible. Look to bring in better backroom staff.
  24. Al-Nojoom FC: 2023/24 Season Review Our Saudi journey gets under way as we win the Second Division (third tier in KSA) losing only one game. The squad we inherited was pretty decent which makes things pretty simple. What I did discover throughout the season was that I wasn't losing money. In fact our bank balance was going up. It turns out we have an underwriter chairman which got me excited before I realised almost every other Saudi club has an underwriter according to SI's database We have been able to improve the facilities/junior coaching at an accelerated speed. The board are planning on building a new stadium as it turns out we play 240km from our home town/city. Player stats were pleasing. We are light in a few positions so poor performers couldn't be ditched easily. Youth intake was pretty poor. We have recruited a couple of keepers and forwards. Transfers. The 3 incoming were done before I took over. Season history Aims for next season Look to cope with a higher standard division. Improve facilities further Commit key players to long term deals
  25. Off the back of success in Nigeria, I've come back with the hope of success in Saudi Arabia. I wanted South Korea but the relegations aren't sorted. I've used Tenshi's DB for the save. I'm starting in the 3rd Tier with Al-Nojoom.
