Gunna try this out when I get home, been itching for a Polish save for a while. Thanks for your work on the file Bigpole :applause:

thanks, small error was found by a user (nothing major, team draw in promotion playoff wasnt fixed but random), so quick fix was made and new file is uploaded in 1st post. Of course bloody steam workshop replaced my file so I had to replace a steam link as well.

Hi, I would like to know how the editor handles the different possibilities of allocating teams to regional divisions. I have done all of the below, but even then some teams are not allocated to the correct regional division.

    • Setting regional divisions for each team on all levels (0 = level 1, 1 = level 2, ...)
    • Setting boundaries for my leagues in the database
    • Thicking the box "Use regional division for child comp allocation" in my (parent) competitions
    • Setting "Child competition region limits" in my parent competition based on secondary divisions

I would be glad if someone could tell me which of these steps get priority in allocating a team to a regional division.

    Thanks.

It's a known 'issue' that all editors face. Generally, you can do regional divisions with dynamic relegation (there's a pinned thread) but as far as I remember, you need to have all leagues down to the lowest for this to be working.

My regional files had similar or the same options in the editor as you, but additionally I changed league size from fixed to something like minimum 16 maximum 20. And I was happy with teams moving to the nearest division in the area.

    Hi

Thanks for this guide excellent idea:thup:

    couple of questions

1.Can you have more than one launch option- I have this set in launch option -small_screen -windowed

so can I add another option as your above?

    2. Can I just direct  FM24 to the FM23 folders, or do I have to set up a folder and move everything I want to use there initially

    Cheers

    1. Haven't tested this to be fair, so feel free to try yourself.

    2. You can create a new folder, or you can choose an already made folder, it doesn't really matter as long as files inside the folder are fm files and the location in the launch option is correct.

@Bigpole thanks for all the info! Too bad that the pro junior system can't be recreated.

Is the Steam workshop the best place to get these databases?

@RoguPL sorry for hijacking your thread 😉

Pro Junior System should work okay down to II Liga (because I've copied the system in II liga and just set the correct prizes), but in III liga you it's not u21, it's actually u19 requirement. And in each league there are specific requirement to qualify for points (minimum number of minutes and matches).

No probs :) I think I used yours in my FM22 save also!
I did check out Barteks DB as well however I did not like it much unfortunately despite it goes down to 6th tier.

Any chance that you will be developing anything lower then 4th tier? I dream of having full Polish system going down to B Class. I do understand however how much work is involved in that and how buggy the editor can be.

No probs :) I got Bigpoles DB from steam, but I think you can get Barteks from FM Scout, that's where I got it.

Editor just crashes when there's more than around 100 leagues in the same level, so creating anything below Klasa Okręgowa is virtually impossible (A Klasa is probably on the verge of crashing).

And another problem is the sheer number of things you need to create, all levels contain around 5500 teams, so you need to create 5000 teams (+ cities and stadiums). This is an insane amount of research and work (because you need to create regional cups as well). And to be fair, fixing editor crashes because there are few people in the world that want 100 divisions in certain level, it's not and shouldn't be at the top of priorities of SI.

    So yeah, one can dream.

  5. 2 hours ago, DomD said:

Every year I always hold out a faint hope that SI will add at least the 3rd tier in Poland. Maybe this year I'll have to give one of these community created databases a try.

Good luck with the Youth only save. I did one for a few seasons in FM22 before moving on to FM24 and I still think about going back to it.

Not a chance right now, lack of researchers limits adding anything below 2nd level to vanilla database.

But the community files are completely fine, the only thing not 100% reflected is

    - the schedule (because lower leagues can have different start date year by year)

    - dynamic regional promotion/relegation (because it's very hard to set this in database and in the editor)

    - pro junior system (it's more complicated now + in III liga it works different, and it's not possible to create a different pro junior system rule).

I suggest trying one of the databases yourself, click around, and find out if it works for you. I know mine is down to III Liga, Bartek has created down to Liga Okręgowa (not all divisions are created though).

And thanks @RoguPL for using mine, have fun :D

I had him last year when I was doing Panathinaikos save - bags of potential, sold him 2 years later to Dortmund for 12 mln. Superb ball playing defender, not the best CD in the world but easily a star at clubs like Dortmund, Marseille, Lazio, Lyon, Leverkusen, Sevilla.

  7. As usual, yearly file to start your save as low as in 4th level in Poland.

Tested for 10 years in the game, all is okay.

    What has changed?

    • Added II Liga (playable with recreated promotion playoffs and squad reward system)
    • Added III Liga (playable with squad reward system)
    • Added IV Liga (non-playable, used for promotion/relegation from III Liga)

    Few pointers

    • U21 Squad rewards are the same in all divisions (in real life, they are different in 4th level, but it's not possible to edit the squad rules so I'm leaving this as it is).
    • II liga playoffs are set just as I liga playoffs (yes, 3–4 days break between last match of regular season and 1st semi-final playoff is normal)
    • As usual, promotions and relegations between 3 Liga and IV Liga are not 100% due to regionalization. Teams should be in the nearest available division if there's not enough spaces in the right division (teams from north (II Group) won't be in south division (IV group)). No artificial league increase is required for this level, if I'd do lower levels, maybe I would try to restrict this even more, right now default settings set by us researchers are fine.
    • There's a planned reform in 4th level (all 2nd placed teams play in playoff for 5th promotion spot), but since it's not officially confirmed, I've decided to not create this.

    Installation instruction

    1) Download the File.

    2) Drag the file into your "Editor Data" folder, located at \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\editor data. If this folder doesn't exist, create it.

    3) Open Football Manager 2024 and start a new career, In the top right of the screen, under "Database", make sure this Data File is selected.

    4) Click "Advanced Setup" in the bottom right.

    5) Once the database has loaded, click "Add/Remove League", then tick "Poland". The Polish lower leagues will then be playable.

    STEAM WORKSHOP LINK

  8. Hi everyone, tired of constant problems with FM user files, I've decided to create this small guide on how to create a separate folder for football manager add-ons.

What is great about this method is that it will serve you for years (works me for a few years without any problems), and it keeps all the files in one place, so it's easier to navigate and update graphics for newer versions.

This guide is for Windows and Steam users, so I can't tell if this works on other platforms/OS.

    1. You need to create a specific folder for FM files - name it whatever you like. Mine was called Football Manager 2020

    image.png.f10c55aadc926e9de5c50729dfdeb619.png

    2. Open your Steam

    • Go to Library
    • Click right on FM and click Properties    image.png.5472214f1ade9fc644e5cacde62670ea.png

    • In general menu, scroll down till you see Launch Options

    image.png.49c23048efc1c4c262c425e8b9f4f229.png

    3. Here, you set specific folder for Football Manager to load additional files from.

Because mine is named Football Manager 2020, I've put:  --user_data_location="G:\Football Manager 2020"

If your folder is created in different location, simply copy the line above and rename it to match your folder name.

    image.png.0bbff411f380cd1fabce7487d1db1e8d.png

This way, the game will always load any user additional files from this location. Any editor data, any graphics, skins, tactics, views, will be loaded from this location exactly.

So this created folder looks inside like a normal FM user data folder.

    image.png.e7e024062b4ec92fbef35161d3319e30.png

    5. Now we launch FM to check if this folder is set properly in game, click on preferences in FM main menu

    image.png.8cd3c6d3b84247e4750be873f66d1a26.png

    6. Type location in search and check if the right folder shows up

    image.png.b4f13fe5e6e90d717b45b4dae0118a40.png

    7. All is good. Sometimes the graphics may not show in game, the simple solution is to click on reset in left down corner and select Clear Cache.

    image.png.683893be9f961b7759e743560a070ab4.png

This option below should be ticked as well.

    image.png.974655f3f8960c62e83dcd6075e711d6.png

Then, just click confirm image.png.8af0ecc954b19de8faa117ef44a28bb0.png. You can click Reload skin button as well (it's next to Confirm button).

    8. Wait few seconds, your skin will reload, and everything should be configured fine.

Few screenshots on how it looks on my disk and in game

Files are from FM23 so can't be loaded in FM24, thus the triangle warnings. Any league subscribed in workshop will be shown here as well.

I am one of those, who would like to start their careers from the bottom. I have never understood how is it possible to choose to be a Manager with no badge at all and only a Sunday leagues player, and still get a job from VNL North/South or even higher.

Game has been made to include also lower leagues! But, I also understand those reasons mentioned above... And there are countries with pretty good researching level, and those... not.

Could this be avoided or made easier to handle, if mods would be divided into two separate groups - another for stuff that won't change like league rules and data like cities and stadiums, and another for all player and staff data.

That could also need a new thing (as far as I know) - dependencies. Meaning: with a set of mods different mods MIGHT use same UID's, and therefore some UID's would have to be changed (when starting a new game). Then a league wouldn't find its database stuff (at least in a correct way).

What would we get with this? You could start your game with any league rules mod, and 1) if there's no database for it, just use "Added players", OR 2) choose also a database for that league.

This way those league mods wouldn't EVER need updating! I hate when one of mods uses 23.0 or 23.1 database and it just won't work with 23.2 or 23.4 databases. Waiting for updates...

This also would make sure that new added graphics for mods are usable (helping all the graphics makers and users).

I have made some kits myself for a mod, and it's really annoying when with any mod update all that stuff might have to be re-named (UID number is also that file's name).

The good thing about this game is that you can create basically everything in terms of lower league football. And the only problem is to keep this up do date.

That's why modders are doing only leagues and clubs/cities/stadiums, they're not creating players.

I'm a lower league enthusiast, have done Spanish 10th tier, German 6th, Polish 4th and Tunisian 4th. And all researchers are trying to at least create all clubs in regional/local level for us to create or activate league rules in editor.

I've been expecting Serie D (Italy's 4th division) for like 15 years now...

Serie D has 9 divisions, and these divisions must be very well researched. So it's hard.

    6 hours ago, kingjericho said:

I believe the OP was asking why aren't these tiers included if they're well researched and are easy to activate using the editor.

Not everyone is comfortable using the editor, and in my opinion the more leagues and divisions available from the start, the more interesting the game becomes.

It's hard to tell if they are well researched, and as above - 12 divisions that must be very well done by the researchers.

I can give a small hindsight as a researcher - a lot of big countries don't have that many people involved in research. The leagues are superbly done, like French, German, Portuguese. But at the end - it's all about licensing. And if you license a league, it just has to be top-notch.

The players may appreciate good quality research and details, but it has to be maintained as well. And researchers can come and go, so one year you have a full division done by someone and next year he's gone, and you have to do an extra work to update the whole league/division.

Each year I can see hundreds of league files for various countries across the globe, so I'm certain that England level 10 file or Italian Serie D file will be available after the full game is released.

  11. 51 minutes ago, Russell10 said:

Is there any reason the next tier down from the conference north/south or even the Scotland lowland leagues not been added?

Lots of users start in the bottom tier of England especially, I thought they would add even more.

They are in the game and when the game will officially launch and editor will be available - lower leagues will be created.

Remember that each level of each country requires a quality research and resources, so a lot of leagues and teams are in the game, they simply need to be activated in the editor.
