  1. A great first season if you consider the media prediction. Solid start to build upon. How’s the tactic tinkering now? Settled on 433?

  5. Have you checked the MacBooks resolution. My system was set to 125% by default, dropped it to 100% and fixed it.
  6. Whilst on paper 3 from 9 seems bad, results of other teams around you have gone in your favour. Hopefully these three games can be looked back on as “competitive preseason” to actually see where your team is at in terms of this level and highlights the areas that need focus and addressing. Going forward if you can improve the results in September things will be looking much better in a month.

  9. Great start to the save @_Ben_ As always the depth you go into with the writing and analysis makes for a great read. How long are you planning to stay in Turkey or does it depend how this season finishes?
  10. Raising it in General Discussion will always get that. If you think it’s an issue raise it in bug forums where it will get looked at by SI. And provide full details rather than “it’s too easy” im not saying they’ll fix it asap as I know people have raised the same bugs every year but there’s more of a chance of improvements if you raise it in the right places. The difficulty level at start idea would be a feature request. (BTW I’m not saying you haven’t raised it yet you may have but that is aimed at all saying it’s easy) If one starts the bug thread off then the others can join with their examples which gives SI as much data as possible for changes going forward.
  11. I’m just imaging a squad of players hissing now. I understand the realism thing but you asked for a way to make it harder and this is the difficulty setting in FM. Would you be willing to do a test season? Both on lowest no badges no experience, same team, even same tactic and see if the game is still as easy? If it is then you can also raise this and evidence of the two saves as comparison?

If you think it’s a genuine issue raise it in the beta bug forum not in GD, with examples of saves and screenshots so the QA team can see it, I doubt they’re scrolling GD during the testing phase This thread has different opinions but the beta is a chance for you to raise any issues and concerns. If like last year you don’t then FM24 will likely be the same. If you think it’s an issue raise it.

  14. No problem, like @herne79said some actual feedback rather than “I shouldn’t be able to win it with United because their players aren’t title winning side” (see Leicester) The main thing is it is Beta, and if you do genuinely think it’s too easy feed this back with proper bug reports.
  15. With no attributes you can use that good eye to watch highlights and judge for yourself, or compare via statistical results.
  16. It’s also only Beta, there could be further tweaks on this yet for all we know. I wouldn’t judge a headline feature or any feature in a testing stage. If you feel like it’s not working as they have said I would raise a bug report with examples so hopefully they can improve the feature/s

Nice to see my tweets get shared about I can see both sides of the “discussion” (let’s not call it an argument) If you play any game for a long time you pick up things that work etc and carry them across yearly releases so there’s a chance the game feels “easy” which is natural. As for SI needing to make the game harder/add difficulty levels Miles has said before on different podcasts etc that the hardcore are a small % of the market so they need to cater for all. We do have difficulty levels in the game anyway, when you start at Man United/Liverpool are you starting with full coaching badges and experience? Setting both of these to lowest setting at a high club is supposed to increase the difficulty. The removal of the attribute bars seems to have caused a bit of an outcry over the past few years of similar threads but after a while you could tell on the bars the attributes anyway, I know some people have started adding stars to the attribute panel Which could help make it harder in regards to signing players etc. Ive gone fully attributeless and starless, which you can read about here.. https://www.viewfromthetouchline.com/2022/09/12/a-dan-gear-fm23-save-reveal/ This is my own way of increasing the difficulty plus trusting the staff with signings of players and staff. In regards to how can I tell a player is quick, scout and coach reports will tell you this plus you can search certain metrics to help. For me personally I feel the attribute scoring is unrealistic and outdated anyway. I hardly doubt the staff at a club are there scoring players Crossing 14 or 15 and in the game does that one attribute score matter? Also over the years we have all gained better knowledge of the market so whilst saying you won’t sign Endrick unless scouts recommend him, they probably will at some point and due to knowledge you’ll probably sign him over an unknown player. Some of the best saves I’ve had in recent years are in leagues I have no knowledge of Bolivia, Turkey, Estonia on top of that you could probably play with the option to not use real player names? Maybe this might help. I have thought for years that FM is too soft with injuries and we don’t get fully fledged injury crisis to manage our way around. Whilst it’s not the perfect solution for you, there are options out there to make the game harder. Using Mods, making in game rules for yourself. When you start at Liverpool/United maybe self impose a rule of 5/6 so 5 players in starting XI have to be homegrown trained within the club etc.
  18. I really enjoyed playing FM without attributes and I feel it adds more to the game. I will be doing it again on FM23. Currently having a skin made as I don’t have the skill like you too do it. It will remove all attributes and stars from the game. In regards to tracking player development I think it enhances it as you’re not tracking an attribute going from 13 > 14 it’s what you’re seeing on the pitch and statistical improvements. Which also adds that realism factor. The only issue is I don’t know how you would show that visually for screenshot purposes.
