A Global Plug and Play 4-4-2 for you to try..

Recommended Posts

I have been desperately trying to come up with a "plug and play" tactic as I haven't got the time to make a tactic set of sorts for my West Ham side, (present patch).

Throughout my second season I have been playing about with a 4-4-2 and have decided that I am happy enough with it to share to others who may just want an easy tactic that you can tinker about with if needed to your own preferances. I just call it "IRONS".

I'm pretty happy with the results, only 4 defeats and I'm 5th in the table second season.

I had a torrid time trying to get the strikers scoring. It was then that I had a thought that I might actually be playing too attacking. I have Marquinos in my side and he likes to run with the ball, so logic suggested to me that if you play too attacking then he won't be in a position to receive the ball enough to run with it.

I also had gaps appearing so that is when I decided to go global with all the players, whereas before I had GK, CB'S AND A CM more defensive. Going global however seems to get more cohesion.

I therefore line up with a normal mentality but playing wide, pushing up the DL and have a high closing down. If I go ahead I may drop slightly deeper or go slower tempo and short passing. Almost certainly later on I will change at least one CM for a fresher player.

The great thing is whatever you do it just needs the Team sliders to be adjusted rather than player by player, thus meaning quicker tactical changes as it is just the one tactic. Possession is good in most games I play and I use it as it is both Home and Away.

The only players I have brought into the squad are Marqhinos, Beckham and N'Koulou, so it's a tactic that can be played with an original squad.

You are welcome to try.

Nicely done, this seems a common theme at the moment, see the "Less is more" thread for some more (excuse the pun) info.
