Unable to expand stadium after new stadium is built?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am unable to make the new stadium or to expand existing one that was built 6-7 years ago.

Average attendance is very high, club has no debt and it has very large balance.

Season ticket waiting list shows 70,000, but season ticket holders is only 3,396??? It does not make any sense.

New stadium was built in 2028 and it was expanded twice, to total capacity of 23,091, but after that there was never option to expand it further. All requests to build new stadium are rejected, because "club ambitions can be reached with existing stadium...".

Beside that, it is impossible to increase coach and other stuff wages e.g. coach max wage is set to 3,100 GBP per week. That does not make any sense as club has huge balance and is in profit each season, so I am unable to bring better staff. My wage is also very low, just around 8,000 GBP, even when players can have wages of 240,000 GBP per week or more. How realistic is that?

Your board have a personality, stats that impact what they're willing to spend/on what. Coaching badges that increase determination will help you out getting requests through.

Also! You can't build a new stadium before 25 years after the last one was built so there's that lol. Also x2 is the most expansions you can have.

No big stadium 4 u.

This is wrong, there is no hard limit. However, building several new stadiums within a short while is less likely.

Hi All,

Thanks, but this is very disappointing. Should not this follow club success, profit, reputation etc?

Also, why is the number of season ticket holders only 3,396 when the waiting list says that there are 70,000 people?

Is there anything that I could do to cause board to change?

Beside stadium limit, coach wages are limited to 3.1k per week. It does not make any sense, as it prevents me from getting top coaches and other staff members.

Have you got all your coaching badges? That's the one thing you can influence on your end, outside from a takeover you are pretty much stuck with the board you've got.

Finance, reputation, and success definitely do have an impact on what the board is willing to do, but it seems to only go so far at times. Even if the 25 rule isn't hard coded, if you've had a new stadium built recently I wouldn't expect the board to ok a new one for a very long time. If your club financial standing is "rich," the fan base is bigger than the stadium and they still won't approve it: it's probably out of your hands. Does your club have withstanding stadium/transfer debt? That's the only other thing I can think of that could be fixable.

You could always try applying for jobs at a different club, if you're board doesn't appreciate you it might be time to move on.

If you want to play a challenge, my club Sheffield Wednesday are at the Hillsborough Stadium. Seats about 39k. The club is also massively in debt having just escaped administration. If you lead them to glory from League One (promoted back to the Championship IRL :) ) and to financial stability you could see a new stadium built to rival the European giants. Shameless plug for the owls here.

There is no debt and club has £530+ million in cash now (see previous screenshots, two nights ago cash was £445+ million).

All coaches and my profile have Continental Pro license.

Idea was to take small team and win everything, build best stadium etc. And I did that, win everything, all trophies, several times with Spartak from Subotica, Serbia.

Club now has 5 star Worldwide reputation, it is number 1 by ranking, finances are Rich, squad personality is Very Determined. I have Won UEFA Champions League 5 times in a row now.

I am not new to this game, I played it for last 20+ years, not all the time of course, there were breaks for several years :) But as far as I remember there was always a problem when you wanted to build the new stadium.

It is 2035 year, 13th season and there is nothing left for me to win, build or achieve in the game with the team I chose. Only thing left is to take national job, but that was not the goal in this game.

It seems that I will delete the game and maybe try again in few years, check if they improve stadium functionality. It is sad that after so many years this game still has problems with the new stadium, even when you achieve everything you cannot get the best stadium.

Also, one more interesting thing, there is a very large number of rainy matches when playing with team from Serbia which is completely unrealistic. But even with so many rainy matches the board never builds roof for new stadium. It seems like a broken or unfinished functionality in the game.

In previous version I played with Vojvodina and the club was eventually bought by foreign owner, they built new ~30,000 seat stadium but without roof and still small stadium compared to the number of supporters. They named it after me, which was nice :)

Sounds frustrating, I think the design around the static nature of stadiums is that most teams don't build new stadiums frequently (even when they come up from non league football). Bournemouth is the closest example I can think of, of an FM style rise in the leagues, and their stadium still only seats around 11k after it was rebuilt? I agree that it is a flawed system when you've achieved superstardom and still the board doesn't react.

If you're feeling burnt out, adding some restrictions on your save can be a really nice way of feeling less frustrated with the games limitations and achieving success at a more IRL pace. Some I'd recommend are: no future transfer fees, no loans, only signing players your scouts can find, X number of youth academy players in the starting 11 at all times.

Very cool on getting the stadium named after you :)
