Changing competition start date

I am trying to play in Iceland, however their schedule makes continental play very difficult as they basically have a 4 month season, which also includes their national cup. As a result you frequently play 3 matches a week, several weeks in a row.

 

I went into advanced rules and there is a tab to change the starting month of a competition (to make their season much longer) however, it does not appear to have done anything. Is there a way to directly set the date for a competition starting?

You also need to update Schedule under Stage for each division.
