TommyToxic
LINK The above link is analysis of how Burnley defend against some of the best teams in the prem. Pressing high, but also defending low and compact. The writer called it "rhythmic pressing". How would you go about creating this in FM?
Experienced Defender
To translate this into FM, you'll probably have to use certain opposition instructions as well as individual player instructions along with the regular tactical setup. Anyway, let's try (although I cannot guarantee in advance it's gonna work): TMat PFat Wsu CMde BBM WMsu WBsu NCBde CDde FBsu GKde When it comes to team instructions, I'll deal only with defense-related ones here (because the analysis does not include the attacking aspect of Burnley's play): Mentality - Positive (may sound counter-intuitive, but makes sense in FM terms) Defensive line - standard Line of engagement - lower Defensive width - narrow Player instructions: Both strikers and BBM - close down more, tackle harder (PF on attack duty is already set so by default) Opposition instructions (positional): Always Close Down - goalkeeper, both CBs and both FBs (or WBs) Opposition instruction (player-related): Always mark tighter - DM (if the opposition have him in their formation) or the deeper-positioned CM (if they don't use a DM)
