Despite a strong end to the season and getting our job done, we just couldn't enough to finish 2nd as Nadi beat Lautoka away and we will not be playing Champions League football next season, a considerable blow to us, but I still think we played bloody well and we will build for next season.

Ba win the league again and Nadi return to Champions League football as we just miss out on the final day. Tavua after flirting with relegation for a while do go down and Bua amazingly stay up, at the start of the season I would have bet anything they were going down, probably without a win to their name, but they proved me wrong and survive on the final day. Two more games to play in the IDC and there are only air miles on offer at this stage.

We finish the season in good form in the IDC which is a bugged cup. Thoughts for next season are to look at each position and make sure again there are no blockers within the team to young players coming through this season, Alvin Kumar has blown up this season and I want to make sure that we are able to develop players. In many ways my philosophy has changed due to the Ba who steal players constantly, that I will just make more players than you can take, unfortunately I don't get transfer fees for this, but I want badly to knock them off their perch.

So it is time to work the air miles for this last season

We won 19 games overall this season.

The equation is as follows:-

3 x 2.12 x 2 x 1 (31 games season) = 12.70 miles per win. We won 19 games so acquired 241.32 miles this season, added to the 828.13 miles we already had makes 1,069.45 miles overall.

As you can see we are now making further progress towards Australia and New Zealand. Also we have technically now hit the Solomon Islands as can be seen below and now also fully encompass New Caledonia (season should kick off next season).

For this reason we are now able to add in the Solomon Islands, which i will be doing, just to check out whether it is worthwhile considering any jobs there.

Another month in the books and we go unbeaten, although really for the dominance we had in every single game, we really should be doing better. The Bua game somehow we let them back into it after being 3-1 and 4-2 up and against Suva absolutely battered them but didn't score. We did the same to Nasinu, scoring a pen after 4 mins but again couldn't make the result safe. It's a little worrying we should have enough fire power up front to really be putting these kind of games to bed.

Ba are top, with 6 wins out of 6. Our target has to be to get back into the Champions League as realistically I don't see us challenging Ba this season.

I have been looking at the New Caledonia league and there might be some options there in the future, the New Caledonian ranking is around the same as Fiji if not just ahead and the league season looks longer, as well the league being very open with no real dominant team. it may be an option some time in the future, although for the near future there is certainly nothing that is grabbing me away from Labasa.

Plenty of fixtures in a couple of months, June saw us beat bottom of table Levuka comfortably before we welcomed arch-rivals Ba and we took their scalp with a 1-0 win and their perfect win season as well. The Nadi was an abberation as we led 3-0 at half time and 4-2 with 2 minutes to go, then we had a sending off and proceeded to capitulate. A tricky Lautoka fixtures was managed rather easily before we got into the cup, where despite losing to Lautoka, we qualified for the semi finals. This realistically is our only chance at silverware this season so I want to take it seriously.

We remain second having spoiled Ba's perfect season, although no doubt they are bound for another Fijian title.

Semi final saw us up against Ba and the game was completely barmy. We led 3-1 in the 90th minute and two late Ba goals forced extra time where they then went 4-3 up, before a quick double gave us a 5-4 lead, before just before the first half whistle they equalised to make it 5-5. The game went to penalties, they missed once, we missed twice and they go through. Heartbreaking!

We are coming to the end of the season and we won both league games and won one of BOG games. We did lose heavily against Ba, but its a pointless game anyway. We have now qualified for the Champions League and Ba have won the league so we are back in the big time, where we want this club to be.

Nothing left to play for in this league season.

The season comes to end with  a couple of 1-0 wins and a 1-0 loss, which arguable in terms of general play was our worth performance of the season. We were awful. Anyway a successful season despite not silverware.

The final league table sees us finish second. Levuka go down, Suva have had an awful season, they have arguable been getting worse each season, a bit of decline from a top half team. Lautoka also had a very poor season, and Bua and Nasinu really improved. The top three seem to be cast in steel at this stage.

So it is time to get some airmiles.

We had 14 wins this season.

We forgot to give the World Ranking which is-

70751537c3885a2fd911174055034464.png

The equation is the following for this season.

3 x 2.18 x 1 x 1.36 (22 game season) = 8.92 miles per win. We had 14 wins so that is 124.95 miles acquired this season. Added to the existing 1,069.45 miles gives a a total of 1,221.40 miles in the kitty.

We are now very close to touch the tip of the north island of New Zealand and have hit a few new islands of the Solomon Islands, and now not really that far from the northeast coast of Australia. Either way no new countries to add to our list of loaded leagues.

January saw us win our first trophy of the season as we won the Champ vs Champ against Ba. We got an amazing away 4-0 win on their ground. Start as you mean to go on I guess. The first two fixtures of the season were well won as we started the season with 2 wins from 2.

It's a familiar story at the top of the table. Nadi lost their first game so they are already playing catch up.

We had a fantastic February. We first beat Bua and then got through our group in the Champions League as group winners in reasonably easy fashion. Then we beat Nadi and got a great draw away to Ba. Things are looking very good for us, we seem to have a very balanced squad at the moment, with plenty of depth to cover injuries and suspensions.

The league is look very nice at the moment. Nadi are pretty much done I reckon with regards to the Champions League even at this early stage. Ba are still on our tail. I want to as a minimum push them this season.

Confirmation of our progression in the Champions League group.

We negotiate a tricky month beating Suva and Lautoka to keep our form going this season.

This race is heating up and the rest of the league is getting left behind. Nadi have done well to get back up to third and still might think they have an outside shot at things.

April was all about the Champions League as we played Hienghene Sport in the Quarter Finals. We won 2-0 at home, without any drama and then were 3-0 up in the second leg before Hienghene decided to come back, but we were never in trouble and still won the game 5-4, to go through 7-4 on aggregate. In the semi finals we faced Marist Fire of the Solomon Islands. A narrow 1-0 win away with a sending off, indicated that the return leg might be tricky, but in the end we managed to continually pick them off and came through 4-2 on the day and 5-2 on aggregate. We get through to our third Champions League final in four years, which is a remarkable achievement for a club that was in Division One of Fiji not that long ago. We will be playing very much as expected Ba in the final as they ran out 5-0 aggregate winners over Solomon Warriors in the other semi final.

A very tough month for us, we started with a win against Nasinu, before we lost the Champions League Final. Nadroga then dented our title push giving us our first loss. We got through the group thanks to two draws and a win against Nasinu and we beat Bua in the league.

There are still some very hard games to come for us such as Nadi away, Ba at home and Suva away, so realistically it is going to be hard that win the league.

Very tight at the top of the league, I think we can safely say Labasa and Ba will be in the Champions League next season I would say.

This month has seen us draw both our league games, to be honest they were tough games, and getting a point was better than the alternative of losing. However it will now mean we will almost certainly need to beat Ba to potentially win the league.

d1f2db67b451ec654029b17ae7d417d5.png

The table is finely poised, I expect Ba to go past us with their game in hand however then it comes down to a winner take all tie at our ground. Although this could come down to goal difference.
