First game at home we played with 10-man since 40th minute as Prados got sent off and I knew we will not be able to beat Spurs away. We tried though and even were up 1-2 in second leg. I am still happy with this year's european performance. In league we lost to both Real Madrid and Barcelona but it did not really matter and I think players were not really motivated. Got to say we had really hard draws in EURO Cup as it almost looked as CL draw maybe with exception of Everton. Maybe next year I will finally win a trophy? Maximilian Scheffel was not playing very well even though he was our topscorer. I thought having him and Vietto for ST position was enough but perhaps he lacked motivation since it was fairly certain he would start most games? Mario Rui again won player of the year and as sad as it is, he will retire this July. This is very nice! For comparison, last year Real Madrid won the league with 88 points. scarp Posted January 20, 2019 Author Share Posted January 20, 2019 AUGUST 2025 Good start to our league campaign as we did not concede any goal. I expect us to fight for 2nd place with Schalke 04. Even though we had some money I did not want any new players at all except for LB that we got for free from Arsenal. Ivo and Agudelo are my 2 non-EU players (+ Scotti) for next season, Celcic immediately went on loan. I loaned out all the other players with potential because they would not get playtime in our team. That means we need to get at least one point from Gelsenkirchen. Last game of the month we played away at Malaga that was playing beyond all the expectations and we drew them aswell thanks to 90+4 goal by their winger Nakajima. We beat Real Madrid twice and if we do not **** up the second leg, we will play either Las Palmas or Villarreal in finals. This could be my first trophy. In league we won all the games this month. I gotta say our defense got so much better with Campos' arrival, no wonder he is starting CB for Spanish National Team, I have no idea how Real Madrid could just let him go... Anyway, we will play Barcelona next. Celtic was easy and we will play Bayer Leverkusen next (they are currently number 1 in Bundesliga). In Spanish Cup finals we will meet Las Palmas. Splendid performance by the boys and first trophy of my career! We won the league after a great run, only losing to Coruňa early in the season. 97 points is also new Vigo record. Lets get one more trophy then! Lobotka is like a bottle of wine - gets better with age, Malaga played surprisingly well! Sums up our defense really well. This was easier than expected. scarp Posted January 23, 2019 Author Share Posted January 23, 2019 SEASON 2025/26 7 It was a great season domestically and will be hard to reproduce since Real Madrid won CL and they are still a very strong team as well with Barcelona. I believe that we need to get top-class attacker to be competitive in Europe aswell. But it is tough since we still get only about 25mil for transfers. Ivo is still only 19 and he's playing so well already! Sounds nice! scarp Posted January 24, 2019 Author Share Posted January 24, 2019 AUGUST 2026 We won the Super Cup but I knew something was not quite right.. and we got hammered by Barcelona at Nou Camp two weeks later. Lets see how we will do next month. Actually quite tough draw in my opinion. We should get through though. Now this is where I get mad... I've got 26 millions for transfers (which is so low compared to what we make every season) and we needed striker.. All the prices are so high but we still managed to find a guy who would come to us for 32 millions so I sold Gebing to get the money.. and before he accepted the contract my transfer budget reseted back to 26 millions so we could not get him. I am actually very mad with my board and thinking about future all the time. Then we signed another "potentially great" attacker, central midfielder and back-up goalie. This time it all goes on me as I used back-ups and rotation players mostly for CL games - thinking I would get through with them. I forgot to take a screenshot of league table so you will have to wait for January. We also lost to Real Madrid so we are currently on 2nd place behind them. We started the semifinals very well winning the away game 1-0. I decided to sell Gabriel Scotti even though he has insane potential as he can only play on right wing and Houzvicka is currently (and potentially) better. We got some decent money for him and I could finally get my striker! We decided to buy Marc Rubiol from Espanyol on his release clause. He is only 19 and he's already played 3 seasons in La Liga. We move to finals of Copa del Rey after securing home win against Villarreal and we also beat CSKA 9-2 in EURO Cup. Great month. Rubiol is starting to prove himself. Setting few records. They tilted hard and lost next game at Sevilla aswell, so we most likely win the title again! On the other hand, in Europe we moved past Torino easily but we lost at home to Atletico. I have no idea what happened - or well, I do, Ivo pulled his knee ligaments and will miss the second game aswell. We will also play Real Madrid in Copa del Rey finals. My players sure love some drama but we did it in the end! Gotta admit I was a little bit worried before the Villarreal game as the loss would probably tilt me into oblivion but we smashed them and secured our back-to-back titles. We lost to Atletico in EURO Cup semifinals as Boban Jankovič got sent off in 10 minute. I still like him though, he's our Roy Keane. Made me realize how bad managers we have in Czech Republic. I sure like this guy Otero. 9 He is still only 19 years old! ... Just realized Zidane is back in Madrid. Again it is our entire defense. And we get the domestic double again! Tight game as Madrid's defense is very good and we were a little bit out of form but we managed. Not sure about the pivotal match though Still a long way to go to get on the top. Decent start to our league campaign though. Monaco once more! Lets not underestimate these teams anymore. We actually made some decent money this offseason. We sold Konaté to Man Utd as they paid his release clause and we sold Abad to Malaga - they used a release clause on him aswell and he decided to go even though he would still probably be our number one. Scheffel and Cordua were not simply good enough. We signed Joao Nobre from Man Utd on Bosman and he should be rotating with Jankovic & Matalo. Ullum, Bruno and Cardos are the kind of transfers that might go well.. Guillaume Hernandez on the other hand is someone I think has the potential to be one of the best CBs in the world. Axel Espina is our new goalie number one and Oscar Areso is Spanish NT's CB that will rotate with Uduokhai and Campos. Looks like they could not handle the pressure after beating us since they lost points in both next games and we are currently first. I still fear Real Madrid the most and they are currently seven points behind. We beat both Monaco and Leverkusen in CL and we are through! Finally after 3 years we will play CL in spring! We also could not beat Atletico in Copa del Rey and after two titles in a row we were eliminated in 5th round. Also what a debut for Sergio Torres - he scored a hattrick and got sent off with red card in the same game. He's been pretty bad this season though, I hope he can turn it around. Just remember that I signed this guy for free. And one more trophy for Ivo. Bought some youngsters with potential, Sergio Torres can immediately rotate on CM position. The problem is, our goalie Espina broke his leg and he will miss the rst of the season. 19 years old Acosta will try to fill his shoes (He played since Man City fixture). 3 times a champion yeah! ... I think they're only 2018-forward records though Last year he was back-up and wanted to leave due to little playing time. This guy is good. I think he did well in his first season. Liverpool was a better team and they fully deserve the title. Maybe if Espina and Udoukhai were not injured... but that's a huge maybe. I personally really thought we could win the whole thing but I am proud on my boys and the passion they have shown throughout the whole season. Ivo had a rough year and Vincent Thill actually played most of the games. Vincent is a showing example of a professional - he's been here since I came to the team and he was mostly used as back-up/rotation player and he always performed and never bitched.
