lblanc
History Shelbourne Football Club (Irish: Cumann Peile Shíol Bhroin) is an Irish association football club based in Drumcondra, Dublin, who play in the League of Ireland First Division. Shelbourne were founded in Dublin in 1895. In 1904 the club joined the Irish Football League, which was then an all Ireland competition, before becoming founding members of the League of Ireland in 1921. Shelbourne have won the league 13 times and are one of three clubs to have won both the IFA Cup and the FAI Cup. They play their home matches at Tolka Park, in the Dublin suburb of Drumcondra. The club colours are primarily red and white, with home jerseys being predominantly red. "Shels" is the club's most common nickname, an abbreviation of Shelbourne. In the 2004/2005 European season, Shelbourne became the first Irish club to reach the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Their performances in European competition and former striker Jason Byrne being capped for the Republic of Ireland whilst with the club, gained Shelbourne international exposure. The club lost their Premier Division licence for the 2007 season due to the club's debt situation. Since then, Shelbourne have mainly played in the second tier of the League of Ireland. lblanc
Aim 1 was to Gain Promotion A tough old season. By the end of July it was neck and neck between myself and UCD, They then beat me to go ahead of me in the league But after they then lost to Cobh Ramblers I retook the lead they then drew with Wexford and when they lost to Drogheda Utd I went 6 points clear with one game left to play by hammering Athlone. David O'Sullivan was lethal for me with 35 goals (21 in the league making him top goalscorer in the league) As for the Cup competitions I didn't really take them too serious The Senior Challenge Cup I was actually 4-2 ahead of Drogheda but wanting to concentrate on the league I changed formation and conceded 3 in the last ten minutes. League Cup Hammered Longford 7-0 O'Sullivan scoring 5, I then lost on penalties to Cabinteely after playing a second string side. Leinster Senior Cup Made it a little further to the Semi Final Onto the Next Season were I will try to remain in the Premier Division.
