willaustinfm
I spent ages making a custom database in the editor and i accidentally deleted the changes in the editor! I have a game loaded to test it, is there anyway I can get it back from that?

willaustinfm
How do I do that?
KUBI
Did you save the file after deleting the changes? It's not possible to load the changes from a saved game, you need either a manually backup of the file or a .bac file that is stored in your editor files directory (backup folder). There is also a .tmp file in which the latest changes are changed. You could change the extension to .dbc and load it. But the most important part is ALWAYS make BACKUPS, save files incremental by adding numbers 001, 002 etc.
willaustinfm
I saved it after as I didn't realise, where do I find those .bac and .tmp files? They aren't in my editor data folder
KUBI
If there is no unsaved_current_rules.tmp in your folder you lost probably everything.
willaustinfm
I have last_saved_rules, but no unsaved_current_rules
KUBI
Ok, rename it to last_saved_rules.dbc and load it into the editor (import) and check if your edits are in there. If so, save it as and continue.

KUBI
Your last chance is to select your editor file and Right-click the file and select Restore previous version.

KUBI
There are such easy backup options nowadays, there are free cloud storage where you can upload your file, never work with just one file, as it could get corrupted, even if you do not accidentally delete stuff.
