Ty
I remember some dude posted this same thing, and I commented on it but I cannot find that thread again, and I wanted to know the answer and forgot why it happends. As I just had this happen; Before the last game the table for my Europa league looked like this.. Getafe - 11 Points (Q) - +15 GD Portsmouth - 10 Points - +6 GD Anderlecht - 7 Points - +3 GD Slovan Bratislava - 0 Points - -24 GD The last game of the group was; Getafe v Portsmouth Anderlecht v Slovan Bratislava We (being Portsmouth) lost 5-3, taking our goaldifference down to +4 and staying on 10 points. Anderlecht beat Slovan 4-1, taking theres up to +6 and also on 10 points. Yet this happened; Just wanted to know why I qualified that is all, as I thought I was out. Cheers people. Graham FM
what was ur other result against anderlecht at home??
gunner86
Goes down to head to head results between the 2 teams in question. I'm presuming you did better against Anderlecht then they did against you.
Heisenberg
Most likely you had a superior record against Anderlecht in your head to head games, as the CL qualification looks at this before overall goal difference
Ty
Ah that sounds very familiar actually. Because I lost 3-2 away to them (2 away goals perhaps?) and beat them 2-1 at home (they get 1 away goal?) or the fact I scored 5 in total against them and they scored a total of 4 against me? slipknot67
League sorting rules say results between teams are taken into account before goal difference, so that's why you would have qualified. Edit: Just realised your question was already answered by others while I was off checking the CL rules.:o

I believe you each got 4... Away goals is used to sort it in this case.
