Never used an editor before- help!

I'm sure I'm being dumb, but where do I get the editor from? is it part of the official release of 09 (or the demo)?

I just want to make John Bostock amazing and save myself buying a midfielder at Tottenham!

Yeah, it will be with the full game but is not in the demo. It will most likely be found here: Start->All Programs->Sports Interactive->Football Manager 2009->Data Editor

Brilliant, thanks. I take it from a bit of a research it would be best to up his stats a little, up his CA a little, and up his PA a lot? I get the impression from what I've been reading there's a bit of an art to getting the changes to stick.

Yes it will, don't worry about that. After editing the player you will be asked to save the db, choose a name, then when you will start a new game choose the edited db...it should works
