Club Information

Sportsklubben Vard Haugesund is a Norwegian football club located in Haugesund. It currently plays in the Norwegian Second Division, and last played in the Norwegian First Division in 2004. The team reached the Norwegian Football Cup finals in 1962 and 1975. The club was founded in 1916.

The Norwegian Second Division (Norwegian: 2. divisjon) is the third highest men's football league in Norway. Since 2009, the official name of the league has been Fair Play-ligaen.[1]

There are 56 teams divided into four groups, and at the end of the season the winner of each group earns promotion to the second highest league, Adeccoligaen. The bottom three teams in each group are relegated to the Third Division.

Until the 1996 season the Second Division was divided into six groups. Between 1997 and 2001 that was increased to eight. It was named the Third Division (Norwegian: 3. divisjon) until 1990.

The Second Division is the highest league a reserve team can participate in, and only reserve teams from the Tippeligaen clubs (first tier) are allowed to enter. The participation of reserve teams stirs debate from time to time.[2]

Alexander Stølås - He'll fit in as an AML in my tactic. Best talent in my squad, definitely will be beneficial.

Jan Trygve Haraldseid - Good speed, he'll probably play as a MC in my squad as I don't use DMs.

Øyvind Liestøl - Will play him as either an AMR/L or a MC. Looks like he'd better as a MC, so I'll probably use him there.

Heige Sandvik - Great goalie for this level. Will definitely help out the squad.

Youth Prospects - Season 1

Already have a few decent youth prospects.

Kjetil Andersen (YP1) (MR) - Report - Looks like he will be a decent player for this league. I'll need to retrain him as an AMR though as the tactic I would like to use does not include a Right Midfielder.

Eric Karlsrud (YP2) (DC/D(RL)) - Report - Good heading and jumping, looks like he'll be scoring some goals from corners!

Some solid results. The one that most impressed me was the 0-1 loss against Haugesund. They’re 2 divisions higher and most of their players are valued at $100k or more. Eric Karlsrud (YP2) already seemed to be getting in the action, scoring two goals in 6 friendly appearances.

Helge Sandvik - Outstanding performance by this H. Sandvik. Kept 8 clean sheets this season.

Alexander Stølås - Was easily our best player this season... Until he went out with a torn calf muscle for about 4 months.

Øyvind Liestøl - Was the foundation for many goals even though he didn't get one assist. Also had some absolutely outstanding goals.

Youth

Kjetil Andersen (YP1) - Didn't have a good season at all. Poor average rating, didn't score, didn't make an assist. Poor performance this season, I hope he'll turn that around.

Erik Karlsrud (YP2) - His season wasn't amazing as he didn't look nearly as hot as he was during the pre-season. Although he didn't score, he prevented some easy goals with his height and heading ability.

I'm hoping to get a striker to come through my youth academy as I'm running short on them. A central midfielder would be nice as well.

Youth Prospects - Season 2

I was hoping for a striker to come through the ranks this year. And what did I get? Two outstanding looking strikers with 4.5 star potential. Not to mention two other players who look like they can be of some benefit.

Trond Misje (YP3) (ST) - Report - A striker! Just what I needed. He'll be in tight competition with Kenneth Ness though for a first-team position as I only use one striker currently.

Kenneth Ness (YP4) (ST) - Report - Another striker! I'm loving the speed. The finishing isn't too bad either. I think I prefer his abilities to Trond Misje's at the moment.

Morton Krohn Haaland (YP5) (DR) - Report - Looks like he has some good stats for his position. Will definitely be helpful to the team soon enough.

Dag Vidar Hammari (YP6) (MC/MRL) - Report - His report isn't that great, but he looks pretty good anyways. Seems like he might feature in the first team for a few years, until we can get some better replacements.
