error 10.0.0f80381

OK, heres the deal:

Installed via CD, not Steam.

Installed the latest version of DirectX.

I'm using Windows Vista.

When I launch 'fm.exe', this error shows up: 'Football Manager 2010 10.0.0f80381 has stopped working'.

Any ideas how to help me here?

I can't even get that far. Just got home from work. I open steam and press launch FM10. It comes up with preparing first time startup, then installs some DirectX extensions. Then it says prapairing to launchFM10 and nothing more happens. Try launch FM10 again --> prepairing to start FM10. Nothing more happens.

jevonski,try knocking off then starting again.If that does not work there is a thread highlighting various problems with hopefully a solution for you.
