Bragenca
I'm currently managing Toronto FC in the MLS and one of my players, Marco Vélez was suddenly given a free transfer, I don't really miss him but why did this happen?
TomDixon77
Had you given him a squad number? Anyone not given a squad number by a certain deadline is released.

Jason the Yank
Were you at the squad-size limit? Did you sign someone and put yourself over the salary cap?
Heartwork
It happened to me with LA Galaxy in FM08. Because you have 2 players over the salary cap, the "Beckham rule" kicks in so a player is grandfathered and a new contract needs to be negotiated under the salary cap, or they need to be released. alexw
it's a bug. see the bug forum. players have been randomly waivered even when they have squad numbers and are within the salary cap. it has been fixed for the next patch
