fmfan33
Something from playing FM08; in general can forwards score as many goals as strikers and can you expect a forward to be your main goalscorer? It seems to me that players classed as forwards are not as effective as those classed as strikers.
ACkaku22
I think Sergio Aguero would strongly disagree with that..... But well...I don't think it really makes any difference...as long as they're natural strikers, if they're good...they'll score no matter what
fmfan33
thats a good point about aguero, he's exceptional in FM08. it was just an overall impression really, wondered if anyone knew if the classification made any noticeable difference? Wakers
from my experience ST's play as target men (either holding up the ball or running behind the defence) much better than forwards, while forwards are much better at dropping deep and causing problems. Team Franchise 2008
As to what Wakers say, the perfect example would be Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
Scoham
It's all about their attributes. Forwards are just strikers that can play as attacking midfielders or in a free role.
amster
Attackers can play in a free role position, they always have a freerole note >= 15. Striker <=
gullee
What Scoham said. A striker that can also play as an AM would be considered a forward. Also, a striker that can play in a free role would be called a forward as well. I think Scoham put it better than me anyway So forwards are just more versatile than strikers, no drawbacks there. fmfan33
thanks for the help, good to know!
Ozzy38
This could also help when setting up your strikers. If one is an ST and the other an FC, both with the right attributes, you can set their mentalities so one's playing 'in the hole' and the other's a striker waiting to pounce on a final ball.
