Where is the download link for the 12.1 patch?

Basically what the title says. For whatever reason i just cannot see the link anywhere, or has it been taken down ready for the january patch to come out (if so i might just wait for that one)?

Steam is downloading and installing the patch automatically.

I haven't yet installed the disc version of the game, does this mean i have to download steam too?

Yes the game only runs with steam these days, you will need steam to activate it. Then you can have steam run in offline mode but you will still need it to run on your computer. If you want the updates you need to at least get online with steam for long enough to get the update.

You require to download Steam to authenticate the game, regardless of whether you install via the disc or direct download. When you do that, steam will automatically update to the latest patch.

Why do you need a patch if games not installed ??? :confused:

ahhh i see cheers guys. i haven't installed it yet but was thinking about doing it later but wanted to look for a patch before i do so.

do you have any idea when the next patch will come out?

In previous years it has usually been 4-5 weeks after the end of the January transfer window
