Dirty Harry
As no one in the training and tactics section seems to know... As there isn't a "Tackling" option in the "Individual Training Focus" drop down menu. What should i set my defender to in order to increase his tackling ability? spindizzy
Use Marking, it increases Tackling as well
ProZone
Use Marking, it increases Tackling as well Sorry, but that's completely false! Tackling is in the Defending training category so make sure you have the slider set high to maximise the chance of improvement.
Dirty Harry
Thank you both for your responses. Anyone else with any feedback? So far i have two conflicting reportsd.
edgar555
There is an inherent belief amongst leading football coaches that tackling is not a trainable attribute (and Paul Scholes would certainly bear this out). I seem to recall reading something similar to this on another thread (if I find it I'll come back and link to it) and IIRC it was the overall Defending category that will produce results but playing time is more crucial. Marking certainly doesn't improve tackling.
andyatebe
Tackling is under your schedule, marking is under individual focus. Try both.
Dirty Harry
So...put him in an individual high tackling training schedule and put marking on individual focus just incase? Anyone with a better recomendation than that?
Sheva Elite
SI have left it out for no paticular reason. I don't want to hear rubbish about you can't train it IRL. You can train it just as much as you can train most of the things on the list. And it is in defending training anyway so obviously you can work on it in training. Right, but that's not really a recomendation or helping in any way.
Sheva Elite
All you can do is put him on more defending training and hope for the best....
