Steam vs DVD performance for large databases

Hi, I like to load a lot of leagues and players and was wondering if running the game through Steam would be slower than if I did a direct install from the DVD?

It's the same IIRC. Sould be just down to your PC specs.

I don't think there is any difference. Seeing as how once you boot the game up you don't actually need the disc in the drive anymore ( I don't think) I can't see there being one jot of difference.

thanks. dvd isnt out in the states for two more weeks.

Some people are having issues with Steam atm. A lot of people are trying to download it and the servers are getting busy. I wouldn't expect to play it for a few hours.

Which takes a max of about 10 seconds, and then it's running in the background and is remarkably lightweight (as most of its content is streamed on the internet as web pages).

I wouldn't think it makes any difference at all
