Transferring save to new PC

Hello managers,

I have had my desktop PC for 4+ years now. Been upgrading it to cope with new versions of the game over the past few years, but it is now really starting to feel its age.

Will be buying a laptop next payday, found one with a good spec and looking forward to playing without the 1min holdups.

My problem is that I am a few years into my Crewe save now and I dont really want to start again. Is it possible to copy all FM files over onto an external drive, then paste them onto the laptop, so I can just continue the game seamlessly on the laptop?

Or could I get away with installing the game on the laptop and then moving the save across using the above method.

I dont know if anyone has already asked this. If they have, then if someone posts a link, then you can close this thread.

I just used a memory stick.

Copy your Sports Interactive folder from your 'My Documents' folder and you're all set

It's possible the way you said. Don't forgeet to copy the hall_of_fame.dat file which is located on "All Users" folder.

Yeh just copy the game over.

Should the game have a "Move game to new computer" where it packs up all the data, tactics, slf's etc. and then you can just put it on a new computer, double click and it goes where it's supposed to go?

I noticed this thread a few days ago, and now I have my new laptop, which of the two proposals above is the best/easiest way of transferring?

Also, is there a thread which explains how I install the game onto another laptop, or do I just install as usual despite already using the code?

Apologies if its been covered elsewhere but after searching this is the only thread i could find and I don't really understand it!

just email it to ur self. then just go to ur emails on ur laptop and save it to the sports interactive folder .

you can use the same code for 5 pcs mate. just install as usual. thats what id do neway.

I found that out in the end, all is well!
