Japanese players over-rated?

Recommended Posts

hi, i'm japanese enjoying playing FM

and many japanese players in this game are saying that Japanese players get too high ability and stuff.

ex. Keisuke Honda (VVV→CSKA Moscow)'s PA is -8

do all European people are rating our guys this high?

that would be good, but if you think if it isn't tell me!

because it will be helpful to make our J-league Database more accurate.

I don't know too much about Japanese players in general, but as a Dutchman I've seen Honda quite a few times over the past year and a half and I don't think a -8 is overrated, tbh. The stereotype we have here of Japanese players is that they're very skilled technically, but lack stamina so after an hour they're ripe for the picking.

I don't intend to indulge in racial stereotyping. Here's the but.

There's a tendency amongst Japanese people to be less tall than Europeans. The major influence on Japanese football has been Brazilian. Ergo, there are a lot of highly technically skilled players. There aren't many of the tall rangy fit lads you'd find in Ireland (wahey), England (boo, hiss, etc :p) and so on.

Certainly, Nakata, Nakamura, Ono and a few others have indicated good players can and will come from Japan.
