fatski
Hi Guys, Just taken over Everton in 2017... James Vaughan is an England striker and very good, but is the only striker I have of any quality. With some great midfielders, I was wondering what instructions I should give him. As he is the only striker, I feel obliged to set him as a target man, but do I need to? He's good in the air but not exeptional, and quick, with a great shot. What would/do you set a lone striker's instructions as? Cheers, fatski
Glenn Wakeford
Take a look in the Tactics Forum, there's plenty of discussion about stuff like this there.
backpackant
retrain him to "hold up the ball" and then instruct him to do that. He doesn't have to be a target man, but if he is he doesn't have to be in the air. You can instruct players to feed target man to feet, which if he's fast and has a good first touch, might be advisable.
