MaccaB
Went a bit crazy when I finally got a work permit feeder club and started buying loads of young Non-EU players. Unfortunately 3 of the players I signed are on contracts that are shorter than the period required for them to qualify for Polish nationality. I've tried to re-new their contracts, but I can't as they don't qualify for work permits!! Anything I can do or will I just have to sell them? Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas. neil220779
Either sit tight and hope you can give them a contract later on (they may improve enough to be considered for a WP or gain international experience) or sell them. A lesson learned I guess. Be a bit more careful when signing non EU players
MaccaB
Pretty much what I thought, one of them is only 18 and already has 2 caps for Croatia, so I might give him a little longer and sell the other 2. Cheers
nogravy
Why is it that you can sign a player with the intention of loaning him out to a work permit club, but you can't extend a contract with the intention of loaning him out to a work permit club? tingting
One of the disappointments in FM08. It almost negates the advantage of using feeder clubs for work permits for me since i can offer at the most just three year contract for any youngster from South America or Africa (i think )
jakobx
Its an old bug. Reported in FM07 already but never fixed. (i assume it not illegal in real life to extend their contracts)
