Please suggest how it can be improved

Maybe something like this (as a starting point):

PFat

TQ

WMat    CMde   CAR    IWsu

WBsu   CDde   CDde    WBsu

SKsu

- Positive

- shorter passing, run at defence, higher tempo

- distribute quickly to CBs and FBs

- higher D-line (offside trap?)

Thanks for your assistance as always..

Where would you play Saul & Koke in this system? They both are well rounded midfielders.. Saul is creative + runner while saul is breakdown attack & launch counter attacking balls..

Also what;s the difference between IW(A) & WM(A) in context to this tactic?

I think you just answered your own question. Both can play either as a carrilero or CM on defend, whereas Koke can also play as the WM.

WM is not just more defensively responsible but also considerably less one-dimensional as a role than winger or IW. It's one of my favorite roles in the game, so versatile.

Thanks for this.

Could the below be another alternative to the same set-up?

                     PFat

                    AM(A)

WMat    CMde   CAR    WPsu

WBsu   CDde   CDde    WBsu

                     SKsu

The wide playmaker cutting in to make passes to the two forwards and RWB taking over the space vacated by WP.

How do I ensure the PFat and AMat don't make the straight runs as they play in the same vertical line? It is only during transitions the PFat will move into channels and regain his central position as the ball moves into final third. I am thinking it basically takes away AMat from being a goal scoring threat. What do you think?

Could I opt for a two man set-up like below?

                DLFat     PFat

WMat    CMde   CAR    WPsu

WBsu   CDde   CDde    WBsu

                     SKsu

This makes it too counter-attacking as both forwards are looking for the break than to build-up play. Please correct my understanding if it's wrong,

Player movement is dynamic, so they will not behave so one-dimensionally as you might believe. Patterns of movement can therefore vary from situation to situation. And will be also affected by player traits and their tactical intelligence (relevant mental attributes).

Speaking specifically about your setup above, I personally would probably ask the AM to roam from position (provided he has good off the ball, decisions and anticipation).

Yes, this makes it more counter-attacking.
