[WIP] [FM20] BoyInGreen's Irish Fantasy Pyramid

This is a fantasy structure consisting of 6 levels with a total of 32 groups/divisions and 384 clubs. This is intended to be a realistic depiction of what a proper pyramid system might look like in Ireland. Teams at each step have been determined both by the population distribution of the country, as well as whether they exist in the database and if so their reputation.

LEAGUES:

1. Premier Division (10 clubs, exact same rules as the base game)
2. First Division (14 clubs, broadly follows the same rules as the base game with adjustments made for the increased number of clubs)
3. A Championship (2 subdivisions: North and South)(2x12 clubs)
4. Provincial Premier Divisions (4 subdivisions: North, Metropolitan (Dublin), Leinster and Munster)(4x(10-15) clubs)
5. Provincial First Divisions (8 subdivisions: Northern (West and East), Metropolitan (North and South), Leinster (Central and South) and Munster (North and South))(8x(8-15) clubs)
6. Regional Leagues (16 subdivisions: North-West, West, North Midland, Boyne Valley, Oriel, N. Dublin, NW Dublin, S Dublin, SW Dublin, East Coast, Mid Leinster, South Leinster, North Munster, East Munster, Cork Metropolitan and West Munster)(16x(6-18) clubs)
7.  (WIP) County Leagues: Kerry, Limerick, Clare and Tipperary all have 1 each, while Cork has 4 (North Cork/Blackwater, West Cork, South City and North City with East) (6-18 teams) 

Each subdivision in Levels 4 to 7 can vary between 10 (8 for some Level 5 and 6 for all Level 6 and 7 leagues) and 15 (18 for all Level 6 and 7 leagues) teams in order to ensure that they remain regionally compact.

In addition, all leagues have awards scaled by reputation, and derbies have been added for the top two tiers.

CUPS (with realistic prize money where it exists):

FAI Cup (all clubs; entry a la FA Cup) (Levels 1-6)
League Cup (top 2 tiers, 24 clubs)
4 Provincial Senior Cups (Munster, Leinster, Connacht, Ulster) (Levels 1-6)
26 County Cups covering every county in the Republic of Ireland (Levels 1-6, 7 where available)

NOTES:

• To play Northern Ireland (and I would recommend making it playable especially if you are playing a team in the northern half of the country), use the file below fixing the Munster Senior League bug, as otherwise N. Ireland will not be playable.
• Some regional imbalances may occur from time to time, usually as a result of a league not having enough teams within its catchment and as a result having to bring in teams from outside, but every effort has been made to limit such movements.
• Leagues with numbers of 16 or more are regionalised into 2 groups of roughly equal size, with a playoff determining the promoted team.
• League uses a summer season
• Dublin and Cork cities have been divided into suburbs in order to make regionalisation more workable.
• Top tier is mostly professional, tiers 2-3 are semi-pro, tiers 4-6 amateur
• Swords Celtic, Parkvilla, Avenue United and Kilkenny City have been given €400,000 over two seasons to try and make them competitive in the First Division.
• Language data has been edited to better reflect real life.
• Sponsorship data has been adjusted for teams in lower divisions.
• National newspapers and radio stations have been added, as well as local media for all regions covered by Level 7.
• It is hoped to make further improvements to the file over the coming months.

Update post with new version

I've just uploaded a new version with the following changes:

 

1. All Level 6 leagues now have awards (previously only some had it)
2. Regionalisation of existing cups improved.
3. Added 3 new cups for Counties Dublin, Cork and Galway.
4. For the above cups, in addition to the Connacht and Ulster Senior Cups, Premier Division teams enter their U19 teams as testing found that the gulf in class was too great.
5. Ground requirements added for Premier Division (minimum 5,000 capacity with 2,000 seats)
6. Some teams with unrealistically high youth setups were reduced slightly (namely Kilmallock United and Southend (Waterford) among others)
7. Some Level 6 regions with a small number of teams in their catchments can now have 8 or 9 teams and a third round of fixtures has been added to such cases.
8. A number of other tweaks.

Again, any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

It's that time of the week again!

Another Saturday, another version and more improvements. This week sees the following:

 

• All counties with a population greater than 100,000 now have a cup competition (15 in total)
• More Level 6 regions and a few Level 5 leagues with a small number of teams in their catchments can now have 8 or 9 teams and a third round of fixtures has been added to such cases.
• Some leagues with a particularly large catchment area can now have 16 or 17 teams, in such cases the league format is a single round robin.
• Further improvements made to league regionalisation and fixture scheduling.
• Removed a number of "towns" that actually represented counties (these will now take the form of invisible secondary divisions, forming the backbone of county cups) and reduced the population of others to reflect the population of the town itself rather than the county as a whole. Some players' birthplaces have been changed to be more accurate as a result.
• All LOI derbies have been added, as well as new fictional derbies involving the four new First Division teams.                                                                                                                         
• A number of other tweaks.

Again, any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. The new version can be downloaded either on Steam or from the OP.

Unfortunately, the Irish football league system is so fragmented that what is available out of the box is effectively the extent of where you can be promoted straight to the Premier Division from. As you may know, I have created files with the real league systems for previous versions, but because the leagues are self-contained and there is no promotion and relegation between them, you can only go so far until you have outgrown your league, but you are still stuck there forever. If there is enough demand for a real-life set-up though, I might reconsider my stance.

New version out, a little later than usual, the main additions are that all counties now have cup competitions. Also, all Level 6 leagues now vary between 6 and 18 teams with dynamic fixture lists based on league size, and where a division has more than 15 teams, it is now regionalised into two sub-groups, with a playoff to determine the promoted team. Language data has been modified in order to better reflect real life, sponsorship at lower levels has been adjusted to try and make it more realistic, and national newspaper and radio outlets have been added. This version sees the start of the rollout of Level 7. The first batch covers most of Munster (less Waterford), and the affected county cups have been updated to reflect the new teams. More national media sources have been added, as well as local media for all areas covered by Level 7. The download can be found at the usual location.
