The Rise Of A College Team - Team Bury FC

Team Bury FC - A Brief History:

The club was established in 2005 under the name West Suffolk College F.C., and joined Division two of the Essex and Suffolk Border League. They finished runners-up in their first season, earning promotion to Division One. After winning Division One in 2006-07, they were promoted again. In 2008-09 the club finished second in the Premier Division, and were accepted into Division One of the Eastern Counties League. In 2009-10 the club won the Suffolk Senior Cup, beating Capel Plough 2-0 in the final.

I have Superblademans level 11 mod on and i changed the training and youth to 20 (trust me its not as great as it seems)

Changing youth to 20 and training to 20 gives you a good squad but if they are all amateurs the big clubs start picking them off VERY quickly and you have no way to say no... So this is a BAD idea!!!

Season Summary:

First Season

Eastern Counties League Division 1

The board expected safety in the league, 2nd qualifying round in the FA Vase, 1st round of the Eastern Counties League Cup, 2nd round of the Eastern Counties D1 Cup and 1/4 finals of the Suffolk Senior Cup

I started the season with my keeper not conceding in 1780 minutes of football!!!! Yes, 1780!!!

I basically went on an unstoppable run until Brandon Town knocked us out in the Suffolk Senior Cup Round 2. This meant that I miss my goal here but the board and fans were "ok" as they thought Brandom Town were a far better team (which they are tbh).

After this I lost 2 of my best players, one I got a £5k release fee for, in pre-season, the other was free and my best striker he had scored 25 goals in 17 matches for me with 5 assists!!! About 2/3 of the way through one of my free transfers was ironically taken off me for free but he was backup so I'm not too fussed.

During this season I have been blighted with ingury, I think the fewest first team players/subs I have out at any one point is 4... On another note about players, my keeper managed 50 clean sheets in one season... WOW...

On the cup front I won everything except for the Suffolk Cup. I won the league with all wins and 1 score draw. So all in all a very successful season.

Season one table:

Second Season

United Counties League Premier Division

The teamed turn Semi-Pro, that means that I have have paid contracts and less poaching!!! I let a lot of dead wood go during the break and found a gem in my under 18's who is better than any striker I have had so far!!

Pre season went well with the team only conceding one goal, in a match we won 4-1 and having drawn one game. I did lose one of my top midfielders for 4 months though. The board are expecting mid table and safe however I'm going to be pushing for promotion. The board also want 4th qualifying round in the FA Cup, 1/4 final of the FA Vase, win the Suffolk Senior Cup and final of the United Counties League Cup.

First game of the season against Holbeach, 8-0, I hope the season stays like this!! They are expected to get 7th, I'm 3rd. About half way through the season it was decided that all of my players would fall over the ball or something, so from November-February I have had atleast 5 first team players injured at one time, highest being 7 at the same time, I suppose it means that some of my youths can break into the first team but it's not really ideal. Playoff spot was secured with 10 games left and 3 games in hand!! Other than the FA Cup I won every cup going.

Season 2 records:

http://i660.photobuc...s1500/FM/14.jpg

Player Of the Season has to be Stuart Unsworth, 35 appearances, 12 goals. All of this from a D LC!! He was rock solid in defence as well.

http://i660.photobuc...s1500/FM/15.jpg

Third Season

Northern League Premier Division First Division South

Expectations:

* Get promotion, a bit strange as in lower leagues its just been keep mid table, but oh well

* FA Cup 1st Round

* 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy

* 1/4 Final of the North League Challenge Cup

* Win the Northern Leagues Presidents Cup

* Win the Suffolk Senior Cup (easy)

Until 1st September:

2 Draws, 1 pre-season, 1 in the FA cup. The rest have been victories with only 2 goals conceded!! Currently sitting pretty 3rd in the league with 1 game in hand and 1 point down and raking in the prize money. My new 16 y/o 'keeper is doing an amazing job! Currently he has a better record than his 27 y/o counterpart did this time last season in a lower league! May's talents have now been noted at a national level with him getting called up to be the Englands Under 19's keeper, I am waiting to see if it's permanent or not. I also have a Northern Irish under 19's international as well in my youth squad, who is currently 17 and looking to develop well. After a lot of cup games I'm in the 2nd round against Kidderminster Harriers, Blue Square Premier, I went into this match as 9-1 outsiders with by best striker and a key defender injured. However my solid, no nonsense playing style started us in good sted as after 5 minutes I was 1-0 up from a strike by Scot Walker. Kidderminster then equalised after 65 minutes, then 10 minutes later scored another leaving me 2-1 down. Even with this defeated my defender picked up MotM! I'm proud that the boys could punch well above their weight and hold out until the 65th minute!!

Start of the new year update:

As of the 1st of January I am sitting 4th in the league table with 41 points, league leaders Chasetown are on 48, which at this point is a pretty big mountain to climb. Well it would be if I didn't have 9 games in hand, yes 9!!! Due to the amount of cup games I have been playing all of my games kept getting pushed back so I have a ridiculous amount of games in hand. I am currently in the Suffolk Senior Cup 1/4 Final, Northern League Challenge Cup 1/4 Final, Northern League President's Cup 1/4 Final and I have been knocked out of the FA Trophy at the first round against Margate, and the FA Cup Round 2 by Kidderminster as stated above.

20th March 2012, Team Bury FC have officially been promoted into the Regional Premier Divisions with 11 games left and 5 games in hand. I am now also in the Suffolk Senior Cup Final, Northern League Challenge Cup Final and the Northern League President's Cup. After only conceding 9 goals since the 1st of January whilst scoring 68 goals.

End Of Season 3 round up:

League won easily, 36 - 5 - 1. FA Trophy 1st Round, FA Cup 2nd Round, Suffolk Senior Champions (4th season running), Northern League Challenge Cup Winners, Northern League President's Cup Winners. Matty Mayo is top scorer at 35, his strike partner Scot Walker at 28.

Fourth Season

Isthmian Premier

Expectations:

* Top Half Finish, I could have selected anything from top half to Champions, my aim is champions but I didn't get any more transfer budget and I have the players I need now I think. I now have £50,000 transfer budget and £32,000 a month for wages (current spend is £23,916)

* FA Cup 2nd Round

* 1st Round of the FA Trophy

* Win the Isthmian League Cup

* Don't think Suffolk Senior Cup is important

During the off-season Manchester United and Tottenham both approached me, I rejected both. I have been placed at 5-4 favourites with Woking to win, maybe I should have taken more budget! It was a good pre-season with mainly victories, including a victory over my old parent club, Blue Square Premier Side Morecambe, 4-3. I did suffer a 3-0 loss to Peterborough who are now my parent club, however they are in League 1 which is 5 leagues higher!

January Round Up:

I'm currently sitting top of the Isthmian Premier with between 2 and 5 games in hand, current record is: 16-3-1 with 53 scored and 9 conceded. I went out to Notts Co. in the FA Cup 3rd Round, I'm in the FA Trophy 2nd Round, Suffolk Senior 1/4 Final, Isthmian League Cup 3rd Round. My assistant manager says, and I quote "the team would die for each other" so I think they get on well so this season looks very promising, I currently have a large squad but I'm loaning out some of the players to get them so experience.

End of season round up:

The division was secured by 24 points, I managed to get past the magic ton and get 105 goals this season, conceding 27. However this season I did lose 4 games but 3 of these were after I have won the title and my youth was getting a run about. I got to the FA Trophy Semi Final, losing 5-2 on aggregate to Blue Square Premier Side Gateshead. However in the quarter final I did manage to set the record straight with Kidderminster drawing the away match 1-1 and at home thumping them 4-2 in the reply. The Isthmian League Cup was won with a 3-2 victory over Hampton and Richmond. We also won our 3rd consecutive Suffolk Senior Cup under my management, winning 3-0 against Brantham Athletic.

Fifth Season

Blue Square North

Expectations:

* Top Half Finish, I could have selected anything from top half to Champions, my aim is champions but I didn't get any more transfer budget and I have the players I need now I think. I now have £30,000 transfer budget and £10,750 a week for wages (current spend is £9,598)

* FA Cup 3nd Round (done last season)

* 2nd Round of the FA Trophy (done last season)

* Don't think Suffolk Senior Cup is important

Pre-season:

I signed a falling 31 year old Norwegian who had been playing for Hartlepool. However he immdiatly showed that he still had some spark and would be good for another free seasons when he put me 1-0 up against a full strength Peterborough side. A score line we kept until the end of the match. Which meant that we have the calibre to be taking on League 2 teams which I'm pleased with. Next game against Rushden and Diamonds ended in a 1-1 draw, Rushden are league 2 as well but they have one of my ex keepers. We also played Luton Town, a league one side, we were a head after 10 minutes, however they got two back before half time. After a little team talk we came back and ended it 2-2. The future looks bright for Team Bury!

January Round Up:

We are currently in the FA Trophy 2nd Round and due to play Cirencester in January. We were knocked out of the FA Cup in the 4th Round by League one side Notts Co. I can't wait to set the record straight with them.... We are well clear at the top of the table, 21 wins and 2 draws, 65 scored and only 13 conceded. I found an amazing free Norwegian under 21 star, screen shot here. The wages are hurting me badly but he will be worth them. I know he's not quite Premniership quality but I'm in the 6th tier so he's a superstar in non-league terms.

End Of Season Round Up:

The league was wrapped up with 8 games left, I ended the season undefeated with 37 wins and 5 draws, 110 goals scored with only 27 conceded. On a little sub point my feeder club also got promoted this season after finishing behind Histon Reserves who can't get promoted.

In the FA Trophy we managed to hold Gateshead to a 1-1 draw in the final and with our strong penalty taking ability we managed to clinch it 3-1 after 4 penalties. This is the greatest achievement for the club so far, especially after losing twice to Gateshead previously. The game itself was incredible as we scored after just 20 seconds however they hit back on the stroke of half time, then the score stayed the same all of the second half and through extra time, no matter what either team did there was no way through. The Suffolk Senior Cup was easily kept for the fourth time as well. So all in all a good season had.

Sixth Season

Blue Square Premier

Expectations:

* Top Half Finish, I could have selected anything from mid table to Champions.

* FA Cup 3nd Round (done last season)

* 3rd Round of the FA Trophy (Won it last season)

* Don't think Suffolk Senior Cup is important

Finance:

I now have £145,000 transfer budget and £24,500 a week for wages (current spend is £15,332) which can be edited up to £397,965 transfer with £19,500 wage or £0 Transfer and £27,000 wages. Due to very high attendances the finances are very safe, even if I make a loss they will be written off by the Chairman, I love you Mr. Rhodes now please build me my own stadium? Last year we managed to get a £630,000 profit which was nice, the big cup run helped and nearly filly the stadium by the end of the year was also great. Problem is that I have nearly hit capacity.

Finances:

The club is now worth £2m which is nice. My transfer budget for this season is £811,548 with £145,000 p/m for wages, current spend is just under £100,000. The budget can be adjusted to: £205,000 wage and £0 transfer or £105,000 wage and £1,355,364 transfer budget. Due to the stadium being nearly full every match we made £817,000 profit last season.

My chairman keeps pumping money in but I will soon hope to be turning a profit with my new stadium! I have had to spend quite a lot of money over the summer to get the squad to Premiership standard but it's getting there. I did however manage to sell one player for £3,000,000 who Blackburn saw as a good prospect, I can only hope it doesn't turn around and bite me!

After my big spend in the summer the bank isn't looking quite so healthy, £1.7m in the red, but several of my sales were over several months so that should improve, the stadium is also getting just over 7000 more seats so more gate receipts for us! Currently we are making about £250k a month profit which should see us through nicely.

FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round:

I was picked against Crescent Rovers with the odds stacked heavily my way, 33-1 favourites to win. They fielded a 3-4-3 and proceeded to score after 12 minutes!! I then had to change to a super attacking style, at the break we went in 1-1. Luckily the second half was very one sided with me coming out 3-1 winners, however that was very nearly a VERY big upset! Considering I was expected to reach the 1st Round, I don't think my board would have taken it well!

Match Report: Welling - Team Bury FC, FA Trophy Fourth Qualifying Round Replay

After a thrilling first leg the two sides lined up again, Blue Square South side Welling and Isthmian Premier Side Team Bury FC, both sets of players were fired up, both wanting a victory. This was going to be a tough match for both sets of players. Team Bury FC started out as the more aggressive side, pushing forward and getting several shots in within the first 10 minutes. It wasn't until 17 minutes in that the deadlock was broken with a 25 yard screamer for Sam Hewson. After this Team Bury looked in control of this match, however Welling did manage to construct a few good attacks and still managed to challenge the goalkeeper a good few times. After 38 minutes Mayo scored a goal caused by a massive error by the Welling keeper who misjudged the ball and ended up dropping it leaving Mayo free to slot it into the bottom corner of the net. At half time the game looked as good as done with Team Bury 2-0 up, Wellings keeper being highly demotivated. However a half time team talk and reshuffle saw Welling come out as a far more together team in the second half. During the space of 3 minutes Team Bury's central defender Nick Meace picked up two yellow cards and was set off, this left Team Bury one man down, Welling tried to capitalise on this continually, however it was to no avail. The substitute keeper that Welling brought on was far better than the keeper they started with and stopped the goals going in. However Team Bury's back line held strong for a 2-0 win, defying the odds. Team Bury now face Blue Square Premier side Grimsby in the FA Trophy First Round.

Match Report: Grimsby - Team Bury FC, FA Trophy 1st Round

Team Bury go into this match at 13-2 outsiders. However the underdog effect was evident as straight from the start Team Bury were attacking, after 25 minutes they were 1-0 up thanks to the 30th goal of the season by Matty Mayo, 15 minutes later Mayo hit the net again with strike from the edge of the area. However Grimsby pulled one back in the 44th minute to go into half time 2-1 down. After the half time team talks it took Team Bury 7 minutes to regain their 2 goal advantage with Matty Mayo setting up George Comer to score from just inside the area. Four minutes before the end Grimsby hit back from a corner however it was to no avail as Grimsby go crashing out to Team Bury FC 3-2.

Pre Season:

There were a few transfers, mainly back up players and a couple of prospects but nothing major. No job offers and I still can't get an international team yet, not even Belgium want me! I'm going into this season quietly confident, I feel the playoffs are possible, maybe league win if we get lucky.

FA Cup 3rd Round:

Doncaster - Team Bury

Odds: Doncaster 1-8 Favourites, Draw 5-1, Team Bury 12-1 Outsiders.

Blue Square Premier leaders Team Bury FC have been known for taking the game to bigger sides with several victories against larger clubs in pre season however the pressure of the cup and having it as an away fixture may prove detrimental to the semi-professional outfit. League 1 side Doncaster, who are currently sitting 2nd, go into this match with the up most confidence.

As both teams walked out they both look fired up with their managers words ringing in their ears. The game got of to a quick start with Team Bury FC conceding a corner 2 minutes in, this was taken quickly, a lovely in-swinging effort which Fairhurst managed to latch onto the end of. The game looked as if it was going to get away from Team Bury, however on the restart Team Bury looked even more fired up, quickly attacking the opposition with Butcher scoring a stunning goal 6 minutes later to bring the score back to 1-1. This goal had a devastating effect on Doncaster, while Team Bury looked confident playing a beautiful flowing game. This showed on the stroke of 15 minutes when Team Bury star George Comer was unmarked just inside the area and scored making it 2-1 to Team Bury! This obviously had an effect on Doncaster and they realised that Team Bury were no push overs however now the Team Bury defence was far stronger than before and Doncaster couldn't make a full impact on it. It wasn't until 39 minutes in when Team Bury conceded a free kick on the edge of the area that Doncaster scored bringing the scores level to 2-2 and they stayed that way going into half time.

With the team talks over both teams emerged, they both started out offensively and it was only some magnificent keeping stopping the score being 6-6! However it was a flowing counter attacking move by Team Bury that broke the deadlock on 59 minutes with Matty Mayo scoring a wonderful effort from the edge of the area. It was Mayo again who popped up on the edge of the area to score his second of the game in the 83rd minute making the scoreline 4-2 to Team Bury! 3 minutes later Doncaster hit back but it was all too late and Team Bury go through to the 4th round 4-3! What a game for Team Bury!

January Update:

The league is going perfect, I couldn't have really asked for much better. 25 played, 19 won, 4 drawn and 2 lost. Most goals scored, 57 and least conceded, 17. I am equal on points with Yeovil but I have 4 games in hand. My cup runs are going really well, I am currently in the 5th Round of the FA Cup, defeating Boreham Wood, Doncaster Rovers and Weston-Super-Mare to get here. I'm also in the FA Trophy 2nd round after a couple of poor performances against Eastbourne Boro. I have been loaning the reserves out left, right and centre to get them some first team experience. I also sold one of my unsettled players to Exeter for £3,000 after taking him in 4 seasons ago for free. My finances are looking good as well, with the team valued at £1.6m.

End Of Season Update:

The league went better than anyone could have imagined, the media said we would struggle to stay up, 18th out of 24 however it became obvious that we would do better. We ended 1st in the league by over 30 points, with a final record of 35 wins, 8 draws, 3 loses. We scored 109 goals and conceded 22, which is 5 less than Histon scored (lowest amount of goals scored).

In terms of cups this season was both very successful but also very disappointing. The highlight has to be getting to the 5th Round of the FA Cup, that is an incredible achievement considers the team has only been around for 10 years at this point! However this was soured by the poor performance in the FA Trophy, we managed to beat the board expectations and get into the Quarter Finals however we went out to Braintree who are 2 divisions lower which I let my team know as very poor! Unless I get relegated into the non-leagues again I don't have a chance to win the title again. The Suffolk Senior Cup was predictably easy: 8-0,9-0,3-0,9-0, 3-1.

Finances are now £2.1m in the black but I'm still waiting for my own stadium after having my first sell out crowd and an average attendance of 3350.

Pre Season:

I have been given odds of 25-1 to win, Leyton Orient are 5-4, Bristol Rovers at 7-4, Rochdale and Exeter at 5-2. They kindly side that I have an "outside chance of promotion", so basically I'm going to be relegated, cheers. I now have a new parent club, Tottenham, immediately they gave me a central defender who was better than my current ones. I also got another feeder club, Blue Square South side Tonbridge.

On the transfer front I loaned out a bucket load of players for 6 months or so, most on 100% wage so they don't cost me a penny which is nice. I let 5 players go on frees, sold one unhappy player for £1,000. I brought 4 players, 1 striker who is the same level as 2 of my other 3 but a little younger, a left back who is rated 3.5 stars now at 21 and going to be 4.5, supposedly, he came from Barcelona on a free. Then I brought a right back off Tranmere for £55,000 who is 3.5 stars, possibly hitting 4.5 as well, however he is just 16 so my full backs are sorted for a good few years!

The pre season fixtures went well, no defeats this year. 7-0 against minnows Witton, 4-1 against old parent club Peterborough, 6-0 against feeder club March, 4-1 against Tranmere and 3-1 against MK Dons.

January Update:

League football is much harder than non league however I am currently the over achievers of the league! I was expected to be rock bottom last and I currently find myself sitting just inside the play-offs in 7th! I currently have 15 wins, 4 draws and 6 defeats to my name which isn't too bad. My two full backs are gelling really well into the team so all is looking good. The League Cup is something that shall not be mentioned this season, knocked out in Round 1 to League 1 Crystal Palace 2-1 in extra time. I got the the Johnstones Paint Trophy South Semi Final where I met Crystal Palace again, going out 2-1 again, can you see a pattern here? Due to my limited stadium size the club making a loss this season, however this is partly due to me trying to fill the back room with the best staff I can, however I am well inside all of my budgets. I now also have two players valued at £275,000 which is good for me as well, I also have an Englands Under 19's player.

End Of Season Round Up:

Well lets start with the bad news: we shouldn't have even turned up to the League Cup, we went out first round to Crystal Palace so that wasn't great. The FA Cup we did slightly better in as we got to the 5th Round where we met Wigan, we put up a good fight but it was all in vain and we were knocked out 3-2 away from home, this year all of my 3 FA Cup Fixtures were away from home which was quite annoying really. The Johnstone's Paint Trophy went a bit better however we did rely on penalties twice to get us through however we got to the regional semi final where we met Crystal Palace again, going out 2-1 as we did in the League Cup. The Suffolk Senior Cup is now ridiculous my results this season were: 5-0, 4-0, 3-0, 7-0 and 8-0 in the final, yes I won the trophy without conceding a single goal but scoring 27.

I was expected to fail the league, so keep that in mind when reading this. In the league my fortunes were varied, the season started ok with my hovering around the playoffs so I was quite happy, then the wins turned into draws and the draws into defeats. I slowly slipped to 12th, at this point I decided to change my strategy from a flat 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3 with 3 strikers. The result was that I drew 2 games and lost one in the second half of the season, show how more strikers made my defence better, how I may never know but it did. As the season drew to a close I started to realise that I could win this! I secured a playoff spot with 6 games left and automatic promotion with 5 left. This season also saw two players managed to start 200 league games for Team Bury, our 21 year old keeper who is now at 209 and Matty Mayo, 22, who is at 204. These players also still have some growing to do so it looks like they might reach a lot higher!

The finances are now starting to struggle with a £1,000,000 loss this season. I need a new stadium badly as 3500 capacity really isn't working for me other than that its looking good. My squad is fairly strong and I shouldn't need to buy many players for next season.

Pre Season Report:

After last years unexpected promotion I have no real goals this year other than to not embarrass myself too much. If I survive it will be great but I'm not very hopeful. However last seasons signings and some of my veterans retiring my squad has changed from one of the oldest to one of the youngest so I'm looking to the future to succeed.

In terms of transfers I brought 4 players for a total of £13,000 one is a defender who will slot into my first team who cost £10,000 from Bohemians, I brought two backup players on frees, one for right midfield and another youth prospect for defence. I spent the last £3,000 on a back up keeper, he's 34 so really past his prime but he will be good for a couple of seasons as my youth keepers gain there skills. I only sold one player in the transfer window, Jim Goodwin for £500, not a massive sum but it does reduce my wage bill by £9,500 per month. As usual I loaned out loads of players as well for experience.

In terms of matches we did quite well, we beat GH Academy 4-1 a team that we are still to lose to no matter who far the odds are stacked against us. I drew 1-1 with Norwich who are also in League 1 so this gave me a little bit of hope for the season. I made a bit of a meal of Altrincham as the final score was 4-3 to us, my excuse for this is 3 fixtures in 5 days so I didn't play anywhere near my best team. Feeder club Tonbridge where then brushed aside 4-0. Then came our first loss of the pre season when we played Tottenham at home but they are Premier League so I was very happy with the 2-1 scoreline. The team rallied and bounced back with a 3-0 win against Cirencester to finish the pre season.

I know this isn't really pre seaosn but my Round 2 in the League Cup might be hard as I drew Championship side Watford in the first round. Now the real challenge begins!

January Update:

Lets start with the league, I'm currently sitting 3rd, 2 points behind the leaders with 4 games in hand. Basically I'm first, I have a +28 goal difference however I am starting to conceded more goals, currently 27 in 24 games. I don't really know how I'm doing it, I know it's awful but the team seems to gel well and preform.

Now then, lets move onto the cups: League Cup, FA Cup and Johnstones Paint Trophy. I really should stop turning up to the League Cup, I got knocked out first round by Wolves, oh joys. Now then, onto some better news, the FA Cup campaign is going well, two 1-0 wins against Wrexham and Charlton respectively have lead us to, Championship side, Nottingham Forest in the 5th round. I am happy with how we are going and if we are lucky we might get to see the 6th round for the first time in the clubs history! The Johnstones Paint Trophy is going well, we are currently in the Northern Final, we beat Peterborough on penalties after it finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, Carlisle 4-1, Wrexham 5-1 and Gateshead 2-1. We now face Mansfield in a 2 leg final.

As you can see by the above post I sold my Spanish left back for over £1,600,000 with 20% of the next sale profit going to me which should keep me going in the future. I then sold one of my prospects for £200,000 to a Wessex Premier club that somehow now has £5,500,000 balance, I think the Chairman has been burning money but oh well I won't complain! Although he was going to be a first team player he wouldn't have made the cut in the Championship or the Premier League so he went on his way. He also has a 50% sell on fee so it's 50% of the next sale and a £100,000 fee when they get promoted, they are over 20 points clear now. My parent club, Tottenham decided to give me a 19 year old left back for the rest of the year (how nice) however he has only played 3 games as he decided to break his leg on international duty, I think he might have taken my advice too literately.

End Of Season Round Up:

The Suffolk Senior Cup was easy again, 5-0, 4-0, 5-0, 7-0, 6-0. However I think I didn't make much money this year, they were all away and the prize money is £2,000 per round. As I said in my January update the League Cup was a disaster again, 3-0 loss to Wolves and I was out before it began. The FA Cup did however go quite well this season, I got through to the 6th round, without conceding, then I met Burnley who I lost 3-0 to (Burnley got promoted to the Premier League this season). I was happy with our performance in the FA Cup and with 2 home games I got a decent amount of cash in. There was only two trophies I stood a chance of winning this year, the Suffolk Senior Cup and the Johnstones Paint Trophy, the Suffolk Senior I could do with my youth team but the Johnstones Paint I really pushed to try and do and it worked! I won the trophy this season, my first major trophy since my FA Trophy win in 2014. We beat Peterborough, Carlise, Wrexham, Gateshead and Mansfield to get to the final where we squared up against Torquay. We won the final 3-2 however we were in control for most of the match and it was only some occasional lapses in defence that let Torquay score, I think I am correct in saying that we are undefeated at Wembley which is a nice title to hold!

My league expectation was to end up 18th-24th out of 24, I knew it was going to be hard so I dangled a big bonus in fornt of my players and it seemed to work, we started the season well, always challenging for the top spots. Then for some reason the game decided to give me two weeks off then 3 matches in 5 days so my team started to falter with the stupid amount of fixtures and we dropped to 7th. Then we started our slow clime back up, we didn't reach the automatic promotion spots until the 38th game of the season. I was so impressed with my squad, Tottenham seem to keep loaning me key players at key times of the season which is really nice of them, they loaned my a full back/centre back who averaged 7.15 in the 18 games we played for me in the league.

This seaosn my finances were helped greatly with 2 major sales so I made £500,000 over the season. The stadium capacity is still limiting how much money I can make on match day, however my board have now taken notice of my continual whining and I got this message at the end of the year. What a change, 3500 with only 300 seats to 15098 all seated, under soil heating and it was named after me!
