1. For a DLF, you need; Dribbling, First Touch, Passing, Technique, Anticipation, Composure, Decisions, Off the Ball, Teamwork, Vision, Balance, Strength.....and if as (A) duty, Finishing. In theory, he'd make a good DLF< but retraining a 28 year old to a totally new position and role probably is not worth the effort.
2. Ritchie can be excellent if you can get rid of his Long Shot PPM. IF or Raumdeuter is the best role for him
3. Got a Toon save going again. Trying to steer clear of the signings I made in the first one, although quickly broke that to sign Melegoni for £3.5m! Signed Grischa Promel(£3.3m), Ivan Prtajin(£1.4m), and Valentin Stocker(loan) to bulk out squad. The deal of the window was selling Colback for £5m! Currently 2nd after 6 games, joint top with Norwich on 16 points.
4. for TQ there are a number of targets you could pursue. Ayozé from Newcastle would fit in the role well, and improves well under human management, and scores plenty of goals from the position. Ante Coric is another who could be moulded into the role over a couple of seasons. Others include Dani Ceballos(Betis), Sebastian Driussi(River), Thomas Lemar(Monaco), Andre Horta(Benfica), or Luan(Gremio). Regista is a role I haven't used this FM, but again I have seen plenty of players that could certainly play that role. Richedly Bazoer from Ajax, Pepelu from Levante, Andres Cubas from Boca, Joshua Kimmich of Bayern, Sergi Darder of Lyon, Ruben Neves, of Porto, or Sergi Samper of Barca would all fit the role well. Both roles are very specialised, so you should be prepared to pay extra as both need to be extremely adept technically and mentally.
5. Was going to restart my Toon save....but got it loaded up etc, and couldn't get the tactic sorted. Kept going back to the 451. And, find it hard to sell Ayoze
6. Might be worth going through all of the Ligue 1 squads to see who is transfer listed/loan listed, and make a move for them. WIth Auxerre you should have a decent enough rep to bring a good enough player in.
7. Been playing a save with Lille. Just about finished the 1st season. Signed Neal Maupay(£1.6m), Lukman Haruna(free), Artur Jedrzecjczyk(£500k), Benjamin Corgnet(loan), and Wakaso(£600k) in the summer window, selling Soumaoro for £400k. Winter market moves were tough, with only one player joining, Emiliano Amor on loan. Tallo, Amadou and Benzia headed out on loan. Results 1 - Results 2 We started magnificently, and it fell away as the season dragged on. We held 2nd for much of the season, but the form dropped and we just about managed to hold onto 3rd despite losing our last match. Still, 3rd place was more than what I was aiming for, so a step in the right direction. Great showing in the Europa League, only losing out to the eventual winners Man United. Delighted with how well we got through the group, and our performances throughout. Some excellent performances. Eder and Maupay were good for us in front of goal, closely followed by Obbadi. Bauthéac assist leader, just ahead of Amalfitano and Obbadi. Best performers of the season were Mounir Obbadi and Sébastien Corchia. Obbadi defied his age (33) to become an indispensable player in midfield, only missing out when unavailable. Corchia was a dependable player on the right of defence, and has significant interest in him. We have been taken over! 3rd time lucky, as we have now a consortium in charge.
8. Great progress there!! What system are you using?
9. Wondering whether to re-start my Newcastle save. Got to 2020-2021 season, just won the PL, EFL Cup and EL in previous season. Squad is very good, with some decent youngsters too.
10. Managed to win league, Europa League and EFL Cup in 2020. Squad coming together nicely, with one or two youngsters looking very promising.
11. Some good saves going on everyone. If some of you could post up tactics, I'll add them to the OPs
12. Mings been out on loan for me, didn't settle straight away, and Lazaar has been excellent. Currently building squad for season 3. Got my preferred squad size, so it'll be a case of replacing anyone that leaves. Wasn't given a huge budget(£28m), but really not desperate for anything. Need to bring in more HG as well, which is proving costly.
13. I had the same issue with them. Managed to get Shelvey to stop, but the other two not. Sold Diamé, and I have Ritchie staying out wide as W(A) which doesn't allow him inside to shoot.
14. Not doing too badly so far; Lost to Burnley due to 2 Defour penalties, and it was just not our day. Strikers forgot where the goal was. Still 4th, but could be better if we had picked up wins over Burnley and Bournemouth, but I'll take it.
15. Yes, Mitrovic was suspended first and second season for me.
16. Yeah, same issue here, as with Ritchie, although at least he scores a few more! Zakaria at the point where he'll do well in any midfield role, he cost me £19.5m!
17. Yeah I had the same and he hasn't really progressed. Sent him on loan to Sheff Wed, hoping that a run of games will help him out
18. Have also signed Kristoffer Ajer for £6m, so he looks a ready-made replacement, if not improvement, for Mo. Managed to beat Barca to him also, which is nice!
19. I was looking at a fair few of those players. Dayot I signed in the first season, and has progressed well, even though not yet a first team regular. Lucas Silva was going for £3.1m on my save, but he wanted huge wages, which I felt weren't consistent with the ability he has. Decided to go with Denis Zakaria, who is already good enough for the first team, and has plenty of room to perfect the role I need him for. Seems a rebuild of the midfield for you! I stuck with Shelvey and Diamé for the time being, but Diamé likely to leave in the next year or so.
20. @col_nufc1 I had the same issue with Ritchie, Diamé and Shelvey! Very annoying, especially when there are far better options on the pitch for them. Good stuff though, promotion is all that counts. Got any transfer plans in the works?
21. Now my update! Into 2nd season, promoted as Champions. A few incomings, mainly youngsters. £2.8m in loan fees alone, good business! Well over the 100 point mark, setting a new record with 110. We even managed a January dip in form! Big summer. Duván Zapata is a solid ST, and a free. Domenico Berardi should give me a solid goals supply from wherever he plays. Denis Zakaria will be by long term TIoté replacement. Josué gives me a solid creative option, and set piece prowess. finally, Joao Cancelo is a huuge deal, our new DR, and a hefty price tag. We have started well, 2 wins(2-0 v Stoke, 1-0 v Chelsea) and 1 defeat(1-0 v Man Utd) in the opening three games.
22. Tactics and Transfers posts are now up! Hope they are OK! Feel free to add suggestions for both
23. Done first post with the squad in it. Will do next post tomorrow
24. Not in game at the moment, but I think around £18m? I'll double check later
25. @Welshace I picked him up in January window for £1.1m, plus £500k after 50 apps. Not been wonderful for me though, has to be said, Lazaar still my preferred choice. Struggling to move on quite a few of the players in July 2017. Colback, Dummett, Haidara, Yedlin, Clark and a few others rejecting every contract offered to them by other clubs. Made one huge signing, Domenico Berardi in!! Will post some screenshots later, and am also about to start on the OPs.
