  1. Most of the media stuff. It feels a little interesting and immersive maybe the first week you ever play your first FM game, but at time goes on it is just a tedious slog that bogs you down and feels stupid. "So just delegate it if you don't like it dude!" I did, and my Assman decided he would offer up my best young player for transfer in a post game interview.
  2. I wish when I delegate media interviews that my Asst. manager would stop pretending he is in charge of transfers and offering up my best players, and telling other team GM's to call him for a deal. WTF??!?! Just have them answer questions about the game. I mean seriously that is why you have a transfer list and can manually set the status of who you are trying to sell, So just set the answers to correspond with that if you delegate media responsibility etc.? There is no reason why some underling should be offering up to sell the 22 yo wonderkid team captain.
  3. It isn't perfect But go to the team it'l team you want to scout (say u18 France), sort them by age usually works best with the youngest on top. (the younger ones are less likely to have been scouted. Have a view that lets you see who has been scouted (has the star rating showing), and then click on top non scouted player and then on the one right above the first scouted player and that should highlight every player in between. Then select the scout button at the bottom or right click and select scout 1 week etc. The only pain part is having to break them up in segments to avoid the already scouted players, but it beats doing them one by one. Forgot to mention that you need to be holding down shift key when clicking on the players to include all of those in between.
  4. I think it needs to be harder to poach really good young players from other teams. As long as that is basically an all you can eat buffet, it will be too easy for anyone knowing how to play. Too easy to win, too easy to make money. It is funny because steam forum users swear the game is rigged, scripted and impossible to win.
  5. I have never really gotten a grasp of how scouting knowledge for nations works for the HOYD. If you have a team in the UK and you hire a HOYD who has no knowledge in scouting for England, but has France instead, how badly will that affect your Youth intake? I am asking because I have a chance to upgrade my HOYD in the areas that I understand how they work (personality, coaching, working with youngsters, tactic and formation) but he only knows scouting in France, whereas my current HOYD only knows England. Any help or clarification would be helpful.
  6. It is like prison: pick the toughest player on the team and beat the living tar out of him in front of the rest of the players and everyone else will fall in line. Seriously though, I find it hard to motivate them before the game but afterwards they all get motivated easily. Not sure being motivated after the game is helpful unless it carries over into practice.
  7. What hairstyle and outfit did you choose for you coach? Maybe your unprofessional appearance is holding you back? (For roleplaying purposes)
  8. Is a low training rate for a player who is on a trial with your team a Red flag? I brought a guy in and wanted to sign him, but his training rate was the lowest on the team for the week: 5.90. I am wondering if that is indicative of what to expect or just a veteran not taking trials seriously.
  9. Also just looked and it looks like the intel i9 CPU is now the top chip they offer in it (I got i7) and the Geforce vid card has 4080 and 4090 upgrades (I got the 4070 ti). Just to give you an idea of what you can do if money is no object. (It was some for me) and I came in just under $2,000
  10. I am unsure what it is capable of, but I loaded about 70% of the nations into my long-term save. Smooth as butter. I am trying with the retirement, but some health issues are dampening things a bit. I hope things go great for you in yours! If you ever want to do a long-term online league, we can do a geezer save!
  11. I am in the same boat as you (retired and wanted to upgrade to a new desktop, after 10 years with a laptop), and though I built my own rigs in the 90's, I didn't have the inclination to get bogged down these days with chasing tech reviews and benchmarks. It was easier back then when you could tell by CPU name and number witch was best (i.e, - Pentim 4 is better than pentium 3!) Anyway after some basic hunting and research I bought the Alienware Aurora r16 from Dell. (Some people hate Dell, I get it...) Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700F 2.10 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) and planning to upgrade to 32 GB rtx 4070 ti video cards (I think 4060's are good enough, but I upgraded to 4070) It runs everything great, but there are many ways to go for you. But that is the general ballpark you need to be in. Good luck and enjoy!
