  1. I don't I'm afraid, I've cranked through several months since then. What's bizarre is that I had 2 other players pre announce their retirement for after the World Cup, which is great. Fodens retirement came completely out of the blue, he was still under contract at his club, albeit in Saudi Arabia, and there hadn't even been rumours of it. Can't be helped now but maybe worth keeping an eye on for future. Possibly as Saudi isn't a playable league his 'plans' aren't picked up by the engine until it happens?
  2. Seems like a massive International bug here. Phil Foden decides to retire from football, in the middle of a World Cup. Just before the last 16 match, seems illogical and I can't replace him. I know this sort of thing probably won't be patched before FM25, but could there be some kind of overhaul of International Management going forward please. It's full of annoying little errors like this and isn't fulfilling apart from trying to tick off achievements. Thanks
  3. Hello there, this isn't a bug. Just a grievance really. International management, when selecting a squad for a friendly you often get the "club wants to restrict player to 45" stuff that goes on. Today I got an actual player being withdrawn from the squad by his club. Ok that's realistic. But can you implement options for me as a manager to respond to that rather than just accepting it. I can't ague with his team manager, I can't moan in the press, I can't tell the player he'll never be selected ever again and is now completely dead to me. Especially with the World Cup in 3 months. I want an option to tell him to show up or I'll kidnap his pets. I want a dialogue that allows me legally change his name from Alex Scott to Alex the Scumbag Judas. I jest of course, but options to talk to the characters involved would be realistic and appreciated. On a side note, in this instance, even though I can't actually tell him or Nottingham Forest. His International career is done. Over. Finito. Kaput. He's scum, sub human scum. Thanks
  4. As an international manager in Africa, you get the African Championship of Nations as a competition. Rules are only domestic players can get picked, which is fine. Yet non domestic players don't understand that they are not eligible to be selected and kick up a stink about it. Every time I select a squad for qualifiers or the main tournament, I'm going to upset about 20 key players who literally cannot be picked. It needs either a player logic change or an interaction option telling them they are idiots for moaning at me.
  5. Had my striker come to me asking for a new contract to reflect his ability. Fine, we're doing well and he has been a decent player. Problem, I have no wage budget. So I said 'yes, but it'll have to be at the end of the season' His reaction: I refuse to wait, either give me a new deal or I leave. I say I can't offer a new deal at the moment. His reaction: Right I demand to leave, and I'm going to complain to my team mates AND the media about this. Boy.... that escalated quickly.. (he also still has 3 years left on his deal and is happy with playing time). So that's one of my key players having to be sold because of a conversation not making sense.
  6. As the Japanese calendar doesn't mesh with the AFC Champions League calendar it gives incorrect board expectations. My board are unhappy because I didn't qualify for the knock out stages, but they are basing that on the previous years competition which we weren't even in. I have now qualified for the 2nd round this season but they are still judging me negatively on the previous years tournament.
